Regarding the web spell, Kiven responds to Eya "it is rather crude when compared to the elegance of some magic or the raw power of the elements, but alas I find myself having to compromise many such things in adapting to our... situation. When I was young one of my first tutors was proud of a similar spell, the pitiful fool, and thus replicating it was quite rudimentary."
The elven 'lord' then pulls out his bow to show Eya, not that any changes are visible when it is not in use. He sets it across his lap and says "much more difficult and fascinating is this." "While you were working I was able to further untangle the poorly done enchantments the previous owner placed on Dun' Valkar and then correct and enhance the work. She should be much more potent now, and her arrows remain true more often, although I still have concerns regarding the magic controlling the latter. Perhaps most impressive of my work for now is the ability to call upon one of a number of enchantments in a mere moment, not limited to fire, ice or a small charge of lightening."
Regarding Celarel, Kiven resists the temptation to take her into town. "My dear, this extra chance at life I have provided you will not be easy. You will have to trust me and listen to my guidance, and that starts with staying here with Blau and the others. Do not fear, they would not dare violate my wishes to keep you unharmed. I do not know where our travels will take us next, but they are sure to be perilous. It is still far safer than trying to hide, alone, from the horde that will now devour this land. To that end what items might you require to endure the journey ahead? I shall at least procure clothing, boots, gloves, a water skin and perhaps some leather armor for your use."
While the majority of the group are in town, Blau regales the group with tales of Asmodeus' glory and the advantages of letting the Lord of Contracts guide their lives. "Did you know he actually WROTE the contract that all the Gods and Goddesses had to sign before being allowed to create our universe? Within it's depths are clauses that guarantee his eventual dominance over this world and all it's inhabitants. He encourages us to grow and learn and conquer our enemies, and thereby become the best version of ourselves. He has shown me many ways to make my abilities grow, and even now I've been granted more power as a reward to our success at the Keep!"

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Calarel clearly doesn't like the idea of getting dragged somewhere that Kiven thinks is dangerous enough to require arming her, but she answers the question, "I am sorry my lord, but I have no magic. I prayed to Mitra for it once, begged him for the power to save my family, but there was no answer."
"As to weapons, I have never used one against someone else, but I do know how to handle a bow. My mother used to take my brother and I hunting in the woods."
"I know it is not ideal, but this world is now set ablaze. You say you asked Mitra for help and received none. I will show you a different path. A path where you need not ask anyone for anything, not even me. You will use your own power, once trained, to achieve whatever you desire. We will start with ensuring you are proficient enough with a bow to defend yourself, but I will also teach you magic."
Quietly and privately he tells her "by the way, you will likely hear a great deal about Asmodeus in our current, less than ideal, company." "I'd advise you to ignore it. Focus on your own strength, not the promises of those chained to any gods, as you have already learned with the Mitrans. I would only listen to the tiefling, really, as she is at least intelligent and may even be able to assist in your education."
Upon returning from town, Kiven approacheds Calarel once more, sporting a new curved elven blade on his hip. "I'm confident no one dared trouble you while I was away. I have brought some things for you." He proceeds to present her with the following items.
Leather armor
A shortbow
A simple spell book and other materials for a novice to begin learning magic
A simple dagger
Two travelers outfits
A bedroll
A small, personal tent
An extra wool blanket
A waterskin
A nice hair clip of pearl and ivory to help hold her hair back when using her bow, riding, etc.
"I will teach you how to keep all of this clean with magic to start, if you like. In the meantime I shall perform the task for you."
Kiven also approaches Grumblejack. "Jack, may I speak with you? The elf girl, she is my friend. Would you refrain from eating her if I help you find others to eat? Additionally, would you protect her from harm? If anyone tries to hurt her...(he leans in and whispers)...without my permission... will you keep her safe? Lastly, Grumblejack is much, much stronger than the girl. Will you help her carry her things until she can learn to be stronger, a little more like Grumblejack?"
"He will help you with the fencing," Eya replies pointing to the disguised Respar. "We'll meet tonight then. In the meantime, I have work to do. See you soon."
As Eya gets up to leave and walk away, she pauses and whispers to Tiadora, "And...thanks." Then, she goes and continues to prepare.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Respar helps carry the bundle of items for fencing and accompanies Tiadora, keeping small talk to a minimum, unless she initiates conversation. While they negotiate with the local criminal element, he keeps his eyes open for enchanted items he would find useful, from lockpicks to weapons and armor.
Abraxxus rolls his eyes at Blau's story telling. He walks around the perimeter of the camp keeping an eye out for trouble.
As Kiven returns with gear for the elven maiden he notices him speaking quietly to her as well as Grumblejack. He lifts his axe from his back. " Now we have 2 elves. Secrets being whispered.....Do not seek to turn on me. I am no soft meat," his deep voice rumbles. He eyes the others suspiciously and once again a glow is visible from his maw.
In the city, Tiadora nods in assent, merely smirking as Eya conveys her gratitude.
Eya and Kiven are able to find what they need readily enough, Ghastenhall features the largest market in the nation, with merchants from all corners of the isle trading here thanks to its positioning. The mermaid statue is purchased easily enough by a foreign looking merchant looking for curios, the swords get snapped up by a shop specializing in such weapons, and the various other items are picked up by a bored looking pawn broker.
Respar finds himself being forced to hurry up as Tiadora sets a fast pace, winding her way through the city. Eventually, she knocks on a door, whispers a few words to someone within, and then waves him in. At least fifteen minutes of negotiations follow with a strange masked man separated from Respar by a strong set of metal bars obsessively looking over the goods with some kind of ocular device, but soon enough Respar steps out with a hefty bag of coin. Tiadora is nowhere in sight...
---
Outside of the city, the group reconvenes after time spent acquiring goods.
Calarel smiles as she looks over the hair comb, rubbing it with a thumb to feel the well polished ivory teeth. She pauses when she comes to the books. "What... What are these?" When Kiven explains, she carefully sets down the comb, and then tries to hug her lord.
Grumblejack looks annoyed when he gets told not to eat Calarel. Eventually he throws up his hands and grumbles out, "Fine, fine, I kin watch her back too, but theys better be tasty, these meals to eat."
Dusk approaches, and eventually a ship is seen on the horizon, approaching from the southeast. Its far from the first ship you've seen from the camp site, but it is the first heading in your direction rather than Ghastenhall's docks.
As it gets closer, you can see Tiadora standing at the prow, in a flowing scarlet dress this time around. The ship proves to be a rather unremarkable seeming cargo vessel called “Halstyn’s Folly", a fat and slow ship of the type constantly plying the waters here and trading between the settlements of Tallingarde.
Soon enough, the ship stops, and a rowboat is sent to ferry the group on board. It takes two trips thanks to Grumblejack's bulk, but soon enough everyone makes the crossing. There are four crewmen and someone dressed up as a captain here, but they all have the glassy eyed look of one of Tiadora's dominated peons, and they all pay attention to her and not the supposed captain.
"Welcome aboard. Before I explain precisely what the next mission is, we need to settle something." She points directly at Abraxxus. "You wish to be a full member of this knot from what I understand, if only so that you may continue to reap the rewards associated with their conquests. There is a price to that, you must sign your allegiance to the cause. Do so and the gold will flow. Do not, and you get nothing."
Abraxxus eyes Tiadora curiously as she shows no fear of him. He removes his circlet and resumes his normal appearance. " sign my allegiance?? I have proven myself by slaying Lord Havelyn in single combat. This knot needs me more than I need it. I am Abraxxus, son of Hoondarrh. How does a human dare try to command a being such as myself? I will go along and kill your enemies and plunder the spoils with the others. No need for a contract. " He watches for her response.
Tiadora steps up to him, softly placing a hand on his thick arm, "Oh there is a need for it, but perhaps we should discuss that in private."
She reaches up, and with surprising strength pulls the hulking half dragon into a deep kiss. While he's still standing there bemused, she pulls him with her into the ship's cabin, and then the door shuts without anyone touching it.
The next 30 minutes or so the walls of the cabin shudder. Almost bestial grunting and groaning are heard loudly as the bed creaks loudly. The sounds comes to an end as Tiadora is heard screaming loudly. Nothing is heard for 5 more minutes until the cabin door opens up. Abraxxus staggers out looking worse for wear. There is a toothy grin visible though. " Tiadora, where do I sign now?"
Tiadora walks out calmy, looking perfect as ever. She pulls out a scroll and opens it for Abraxxus to sign. "Its traditional to write it with just a bit of your blood, sweetie."
Muttering "There's probably enough blood in the cabin." Blau shakes his head at the weird mating habits of softies. Shrugging in dismissal, he heads to the rail, interested in watching the departure.

Eya is busy perusing her spellbook as the group gets ready to depart. She glances up for just a moment and witnesses Tiadora going all in on their new half-dragon ally. Her brain doesn't immediately process the scene, so she looks back down at her book. That doesn't last long however, as she slams her book shut and yells, "Wait..excuse me, WHAT?!"
Then, the door to the cabin shuts as Eya stands there, shocked and disgusted, with her mouth agape. She turns her head slowly to look at Kiven with a disturbed expression, then cranes her neck slowly back to the cabin door in shock.
She goes to vomit off the side of the ship into the ocean.
When they return, Eya places her hand over her stomach and gags at the word "sweetie." In what can only be described as a tremendous amount of personal restraint, Eya patiently waits for the contract to be signed, trying her absolute best to keep her mind off the horror she just witnessed.
Still working on the details of the shopping and item crafting, but wanted to post this for her reaction.
Abraxxus nods and pierces his side with his claws. He then signs his name with a flourish. He looks at his companions and says, " Tiadora has explained it better to me now about this contract. " He grins at Tiadora and asks, " Will you be journeying with us Tia? I would love your company.."
Eya interjects, "NO! NO SHE WILL NOT BE JOURNEYING WITH US!!"
She pulls Tiadora aside, away from the others and asks, "Are you FOR REAL right now!? Please tell me you just used your mind**** powers and just made him think the two of you did that. I mean, are we really that desperate for recruits? Honestly how could that have even possibly worked, anatomically I mean?"
Eya shakes her head and shudders in disgust.
She gags.
