"Yall want to dig all night and day? We can send word to Penny, maybe she'll help. Maybe she has new information. Either way we should tell her so she doesn't think we're up to no good."
Unless someone else plans a trip to town Veng will go to the watch headquarters and speak with Penny or at least leave a message so she has an update. Leave to get there maybe 4pm and back home darkish?
(You can do that, you arrive at the headquarters and ask for penny. A guard points to a small office across the room and as you make your way there you find penny sitting at a small desk writing in a notebook.)
*knocking as leaning in * "hey...so my brothers found a collapsed mine entrance under our house. We think it was collapsed on purpose and is related to all this. It may even connect to the church. Probably take us all night and tomorrow morning to dig it out. If you can you're welcome to join us once it is dug out see where it goes. How about you, any new leads or information? "
"I updated the captain on our investigation and have been asking around for information on the Cassandra woman... all anyone seems to say is that she seems nice.." The woman will say with a look of disappointment. "I might see if I can locate where she lives.. maybe we can go their together tomorrow or I can pay her a visit myself if you guys are going to be clearing that tunnel... It will be interesting to see where it leads." She says placing the tip of her pen in her mouth. "Let me know what you find and I will see if I come up with anything else as well"She will say before returning to her notes.

Pok'im said to Veng before he went to town "please tell the Stone the Guard that Poki'm still owes him an apology but he will not be able to do it tonight!"
"If you find something we'll go with you. The tunnel will take time. Can you please tell Mr. Stone my brother and I apologize and Pokim intends to do so in person as soon as possible. " Veng heads back to the house to help dig.
"Well in that case, let me have at it, Brother Man. The sooner Vruuk can get some sleep the better." Vruuk offered before letting out a big yawn. Whether he works then or after, Vruuk looks for an office like space Ma or Pa might've kept records and looks around.

"I will tell him" Penny reassures Veng before returning to her notes.
Vruuk heads upstairs and makes his way through the house to an old study with small shines to their gods along the wall. The study was kept in nice shape and the kids knew that they were normally not allowed inside. There are a number of book shelves lining the walls and a pair of sturdy dwarven desks made of thick wood with engravings of children carved down the sides.
With the grace and ease of Grankhul himself, Vruuk begins his excavation largely in search of past dealings with the old lady, and of the mine itself...
So Vruuk doesn't really find anything describing the mines in much detail. He does find buried deep within one of the desks a blueprint for the tomb where you are pretty sure the book of tears had been being kept safe. The blueprints show that under the spikes at the bottom of the large pit in there there is a small pond or maybe even a river underneath. The dovuments you find show that the monistary had been built a number of years after the silver mine had been closed and before the Stonephenix's turned it into an orphanage. Vruuk also finds a very old folded letter in the desk. It says the following.
Thank you for agreeing to take care of the children for me. it had been hard for me to raise them all alone in exile deep in the woods and it is nice to know that these children and the future children will be well cared for. Sleepy Timbers is not a terrible place... and not everyone in it is terrible.... but the Silver Lady is a cancer there. On the surface it is harmless.. even to some its members. But those that dig deep enough into the church... those that truly follow the word of the Silver Mother to the letter... they will always be your enemy and a threat to the children. I think enough time has passed... and my appearance has changed enough that I may be able to return home. I will move back into my families home if it still stands. Although I will be around town, I will try to keep to myself and stay distant from the children. It is probably best that they not know about my past with Shektra or have much contact with me... there are people out there that if the knew my identity would probably still want me dead. Good luck and thank you for not only dealing with Shektra and protecting the book... but also protecting the children.
Vruuk wasn't the fastest of readers, but he prided himself on being thorough. But, even after reading the letter twice, the bugbear still couldn't make sense of it for while. Then, it hits him! Vruuk doesn't even bother with the stairs. He takes to the nearest window instead, scales his way down(Athletics: 19), and bee lines it to where he saw Cinder last going "Cinnndeeer! Vruuk found some'n!"

So Veng returns from his trip into town to see Vruuk leap out a second story window of the the orphanage, slide down a downspout, and swing into an open window on the first floor. Once on the first floor Vruuk sprints towards the basement holding the letter and anything else he wanted to bring with him right as Veng enters the house and sees the furry black mass fly past.
Gin, Pokim, and Cinders all look up at the heavy breating bugbear and Veng following not far behind as they stop their digging.
While the digging was going on, Gin would pull out the jug and start examining it to see if she can find any magical symbols. "I found this in that fancy house, it's magic," she would proclaim to the others, shaking it lightly to see if that would do anything. "Does anyone know how to figure it out?" When Vrukk cam in, she would look up curiously.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pok'im takes a breather from shoveling the rubble out of the way and says "Gin, what you got there?" (Arcana roll which can't be any worse - 7) "what does little squiggly lines mean, den?"
Vruuk stops and stares in confusion again. Once everyone stops looking at the strange jug though, he goes back to being all excitable (or at least as excitable as the lack-a-dasical bugbear can be). "I found it. I found a letter 'bout a story person. And there in town now!"He hands over the letter for the others to have a look over. "Maybe we find'em? Get there help while we're at it? Might know a bit more than what we found."

Together you guys look over the jug, examin it a bit... open the lid and dump some out as a thick creamy white liquid slops out. Eventually you all determine that it must be a Alchemy Jug
