"I remember reading about this during my time at the temple, but wrote it off as lore. 10,000 years ago, there was a great war that occurred in the Middle Islands. War of Dragons. A great band of chromatic dragons were defeated by a different band of metallic dragons supported by a myriad of gods, including Davara. I was one of those dragons." Jinara says reiterating his newly gained memory to the group. "Only by her grace am I here and in this form. This was my reward so to speak for my efforts in that battle." He pulls up his sleeves again showing off his golden scales on his upper arms leading to his back. "Makes sense why I have these now."
"Those are quite impressive." Mucor would reply with a smile. "I would imagine you and Valeera would have more to talk about now" He would add with a grin.
"Thanks Mucor. It looks like both of us have experienced a physical transition of sorts. I have always had them, but I kept them a secret because I thought I was flawed." Jinara says with a smile.
He looks at Valeera "I would love to learn a bit more if you have time Valeera."
"Gold dragons are respected and loved by many... a sign of good shared by those around the land.. sharing any of their qualities could only be considered a blessing if you ask me." Mucor would say with a nod. "I don't know much, but I know that much. Thank you for sharing something so private with us." Mucor would finish with a smile.
Valeera looks intrigued by this new circumstance and nods saying, "Yes, we will have to make some time to converse. Perhaps we should rest before we do much more. It has been a very eventful day and I'm sure you have much to think over Jinara."
"I agree. You've experienced a life altering event. Your mind will need time to recover and rest. Make " Iris adds also visibly excited by this new revelation. Cedany and Kelgos look on at this spectacle with surprised eyes and questioning glances at one another then look around at the group.
Gaelin- You would know everything that Jinara just said and you'd know the names of the two dragon groups leaders. Leading the metallic dragons was Bahamut and leading the chromatic dragons was Neltharion.
"That's the war against Neltharion right? That was super long ago... so you're like thousands of years old? How's that work? I mean it's awesome but what? I don't, umm I don't know what to say." Gaelin rambles off trying to comprehend the information he has.
Yeah that's the Red Dragon that led the Chromatics. It is wild you've heard of it. I had only read stories at the temple of this but wrote it off as folklore. I have no idea how I was kept between then and when Davara brought me back as an aasimar. Time manipulation maybe? The thought of once being a dragon opens a whole new area of inquisition." Jinara says with joy and excitement. He glances over at Iris as he knows more books are in order.
He looks back at the group, but focuses his comment to Gaelin who knows the battle, "Bahamut still lives and has a following in the middle islands. Once the ceremony is done with Varian, I would like to visit to learn more. This after we rest and help with other things that you guys want to accomplish."
"While I dont know anything about the dragon war you speak of... It sounds like you were reincarnated to me." Mucor says with a nod. "I is where your soul is placed in a body that is almost never the same as the one you had before. I had considered it as a possible way to change from a minotaur to something a little less intimiating." The elf would say with a smile. "Tonight has been a good night."
As you all regroup around the table you revel in the new discovery of Jinara's unexpected past. The evening turns to night as you continue to talk amongst yourselves before eventually you all make your way to bed. A steady cascade of snowflakes is falling outside, another reminder of your time gone and the onset of winter. It is quite beautiful outside. The flickering torches and braziers illuminating the snow covered landscape that reflects the light in just the perfect way to give the entire area a sort of glow. The anxiety and excitement from the day have gone and only exhaustion remains as you lie in your bed and close your eyes. Except for Jinara, who takes a moment to reflect on all the events of the day then smiles and falls fast asleep. All of you sleep hard, not dreaming or wiggling during the night. You sleep in a bit, whether from the alcohol, feeling of a burden lifted or just because you can. The beds feel quite warm compared to the cool stone rooms and hallways of the keep. For those that slept outside of the keep, you awake to a snow covered courtyard that, apart from the few paths trod, is perfectly smooth and appears as a soft white blanket over the ground. One by one you each make your way back to the dining hall where sweet and savory aromas draw your nose and you enjoy a hot breakfast of meats, cheeses and breads.
Aryn will eat a smaller breakfast and work on recovering from her slight hangover. "Mucor and I will be departing today. We should be back in a couple days, maybe less. Torq and Jinara, we will return with plenty of time to aid each of you. Gaelin, check in daily and if you need us we'll be back as quick as we can. Don't fight any world destroying mages or dragons without us." she adds with a smile and looks towards Mucor giving him a small nod. She was looking forward to being able to get away from it all if only for a few days. She loved her new life, the thrill of the fighting and sense of morality, but it has been an arduous [insert number of days, weeks or months]. A change of pace was just what she needed... and she had a subtle feeling in her chest that she needed to flesh out.
Mucor would smile to Aryn and nod in agreement as meat and cheese falls from his mouth. "let us know if you need us" He would say as he reaches over and places a hand on Aryn's shoulder before using his free hand to place another piece of cheese in his mouth.
Gaelin smirks and looks over to Mucor's arm extended to Aryn. "You two have fun. We'll be fine here, but I'll make sure to check in. Jinara... and Torq if you're interested... I can teleport us to the major cities or capitals to see if we can gain anymore information about your past Jinara, that is if you want to. I know you've had alot to process and I don't want to overstep."
(Xtra what do we need to roll for that?)
Roll: 8 add whatever modifier needed.
(I probably haven't heard of it.)
(I can't wait to dive into this once everyone is caught up! Xtra. This was better then I could have imagined)
Anyone can roll a history check to recall any knowledge of the Cataclysm.
Aryn- As Jinara speaks of dragons and the cataclysm you recall something about a large battle but that's it.
History: 9

(That's so cool!)
Torq stares in awe at the display and nods while Jinara talks. He doesn't speak. He has no idea what to say and just stares.
"Those are quite impressive." Mucor would reply with a smile. "I would imagine you and Valeera would have more to talk about now" He would add with a grin.

"You are right my friend. Tonight has been a good night." Jinara says grabbing a tankard.
