(Welcome back Lefou! We acquired some items recently including a Spellbook- Adira would have given it to Roux upon meeting up with him. DM hasn't mentioned what spells are in it yet. We also got a few potions so let me know if you want one and I'll remove that from my inventory!)
(AWESOME! Glad to be back so glad the devs were able to fix the bug. I'll just put the spellbook in, I won't worry about the potions. Its only fair you keep them because you found them)
Roux will clutch the diamond in his hand clearly on edge both toward the sound as well as the preist.
"Why is there a starving boy down there!" He will yell.
Donavich shakes his head, "Do not worry about it. That is just my son, Doru, he is unwell. Cursed, taken by the dark powers. I pray for his salvation day and night but-"
"FATHER!" the voice cuts him off, "Oh please let me eat!"
Donavich shakes his head again and gestures towards the door, "It is best to leave him be. Come, come, let's give old Kolyan his rites. Yes, let's."
Aka quickly runs up to the boy. shh. Don’t tell anyone I’m doing this. He hands over a days worth of rations. Shh.. he runs back up To the man. What powers?
"No. We will, respectfully, discuss this now," Krolbrik's brow furrowed, both out of suspicion and concern at the words of the priest's words; having sensed the boy's true nature, he was more than a little concerned. "We don't have to discuss this in the open; I am not without empathy to you as a father... and I understand if you are simply trying to protect him. But I also have an idea of what ails him... and that it is not normal for young men to scream hysterically about hunger from the floorboards of their father's house. Now, I will gladly give aid in attending to the late Burgomaster, but I also know you hide something... and with good reason. Please... perhaps we can help you."
Aka, the boy is not here and you're not sure how to get to him.
Donavich sighs, dejectedly, "I can not take you to him. The way is locked and I've lost the key long ago. It is for his own safety - and ours. I beg you, let him be... he is sick, he will be better soon. He's become deprived, a creature that feeds on blood, but the Morninglord will deliver him. I know it. He just needs to rest now."
"Blood.... Well he can have all yours but we must make sure to protect Fuzball!" Ericina says as she protectively cradles her pack where her new rat friend is being kept. Her eyes scan the other warily, especially focusing on the kobold who had previously killed a rat.
"Yeah, let the kid sleep, or, whatever. Worse comes to worse he claws his way out of there and things get real messy." Bala chuckles, holding his hands up. "I jest, of course."
Still very weary of the priest roux won't let go of his diamond, but will relax a little. "Who cursed him lile this? Wouldnt it be better to end the misery he is in? Instead of praying to a god they may or may nlt really care about you?"
At hearing Roux's comment, Krolbrik would shoot a very disapproving scowl at Roux with his big yellow eyes.
"Mind your tongue, Roux. This is the man's son we are talking of. Know that just because the gods do not always act does not mean they do not care; if they always came at our beck and call, we would take them for granted."
"You are a man of faith, you understand," he says looking at you, Krolbrik, "Any pain he is in is only temporary. He is safe for now, all we can do now is wait." He gestures you all towards the door, "Please let him be."
Adira is very disturbed by the entire encounter, but steps outside. She will turn and quietly say to just the party, "Come on everyone, let's help bury this man and not make things worse for his grieving children, alright?"

"Agreed; we've an agreement to honor," Krolbrik nodded to Adira, looking back at Donavich with great sympathy. "I do understand. I cannot speak for the others, but if there is a way to aid your son, I will try to find it."
"You guys do what you want. I'm gonna make a little mock about town. Catch me when the ceremony's over." Bala will leave the party with the intention of finding somebody to parlay with his rightfully stolen longsword and orb. 100 gp a piece.
Donavich follows you all out, closing the heavy wooden doors behind him as he does. He leads those of you who stick around to the burying yard behind the church where many open graves sit empty and ready for burial. After laying the burgomaster in the ground, the old priest offers up supplication to the Morninglord, asking for his guidance as Kolyan prepares to pass into the world beyond. Ismark and his sister take turns shoveling heaps of earth onto the simple casket in a solemn ceremony. They take some time to mourn at last.
The sun filters through overcast skies overhead as the two finish saying their last goodbyes. Bala, meanwhile, you've found your way back to what seems to be the only shop in this entire village: Bildrath's Mercantile, which you've passed a few times.
Awaiting you inside is a stocky shopkeeper who introduces himself as Bildrath. He gives you a once over, keeping a watchful eye on you from the moment you enter the store. You set down both items on the counter and attempt to guile him into paying you off 100gp a piece. The man scoffs at you and after giving the two pieces a once-over he says, "I'll give y' 30 fer the lot."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Funerals aren't really my thing. In gonna go make sure bala doesn't get in too much trouble " Rout will shrug Krolbriks comment and glare. Following behind him looking for some sort of library or book shop along the way.

Bala's claws almost dig into the countertop before he stops himself. "30 for both? Good sir, I don't think you're aware of the stress work these items required. You know what, fine. Since I can tell you're a great businessman, I'll tell you the whole story: I was making my way through the thickest fog I will ever see. I didn't know the cause of it, but I knew it wasn't natural. Soon after it cleared I came about this humble town, greeted by two children. They spoke of a monster dwelling in their home, so I sought right to slay it. The inside was a wreck; vases and furniture tossed about. It wasn't until I got upstairs to see that a window was open. I got maybe five more steps to see a man dressed in black shoveling through a dresser for its contents. With a struggle I managed to strike the man down, but not before learning he was a bounty hunter in search for the Durst family fortune. It was then I realized that our fight had lit the hallways ablaze. I could do nothing about the fires, so I took it apon myself to pry these items off the walls and make a mad dash for the door.
So, " Bala swipes a bit of dust off the longsword and orb. "Now that you're aware of the full story, AND the fact that some nasty individuals have their eyes on these as we speak, wouldn't you say they'd be worth, say, 120?”

I don’t know. Do you know why he’s starving?

Well, what blood? I’m sure insane lady over here will be happy to feed him her rat. No need to keep him quarantined all the time.

Ericina will nod as she glares at anyone that bad talks her or Fuzzball, whispering something to the rat as she opens up her bag and looks inside.
