Bala takes the lead and follows the tunnel west into a large room. This room contains a plain wooden table flanked by long benches. Moldy humanoid bones lie strewn on the dirt floor. n the middle of the south wall is a darkened alcove There are passageways leading to the north and west.

"Agreed," Krolbrik nodded. "What is clear is something foul is at work in this land, let alone this house."
And with that, the large orange hobgoblin stalked up ahead of the others to where Bala had slinked off to, nearly stepping on a fetid skull with his heavy leather boots that had been left to rot on the floor.
Alarmed at the presence of strewn-about, moldy bones in a basement where there was clearly a series of crypts, Krolbrik felt that the placement of these remains was extremely out of place. He knelt down and picked up the skull, beginning to carefully inspect the bones while also focusing the rest of his senses to stay sharp for anything that may be waiting for his comrades down in this forsaken place.
Ericina will kick away a skull that is to close to her, showing her digust as she moves to then clean off her boot with a cloth she pulls from her pack. "This place needs to be burned down or at the very least redecorated." She says as the flame in her hand once more fizzles out and is replaced with a new one.
Roux you bend down and pick up a hefty looking bone. After careful examination you notice that it is covered in teeth marks. Something or someone ate whoever these used to be.

"So now we're dealing with cannibals. Great..." Bala will press his ears to the walls and runs his fingers accord the ground. Who knows, whoever ate these people may have left some sort of trail.

Cannibals? Where'd you hear that? Aka walks around the north passage and looks for Walter... or the monster. (8 investigation) he also tries to remember if the monster sounds like anything he's heard of. (if undead, use higher roll. History:6 or 6)
edit:wow… ok natural 20. and by what I meant by what the monster sounds like is more like creatures in the area that eat people, and leave the bones scattered.

Krolbrik, concerned for the much smaller Aka and now disturbed at the the idea of cannibalistic or predatory attacks, gazes at the skull in his hand. Sure enough, as Roux had pointed out, there were signs of bite marks upon the mandible and the cranial bones. Narrowing his eyes, he quietly sets the skull back down and draws his longsword, his eyes sweeping the halls for clues as he tried again to carefully make his way down the hall Aka had gone down, keeping watch for signs of this hostile presence and .
As he did so, he pondered, did he have an idea of who or what kind of creature or creatures had done this horrible thing?

Bala, as you examine packed earth floor of this room, you notice that it is covered in well-preserved footprints. They head in all directions but the north passage appears to be more well-travelled and the footprints appear to avoid the larder in the south of the room.
Krolbrik, the age of the bones makes it all but impossible to determine what these teethmarks belong to. You follow Aka down the north passage, along the way the two of you make your way down a short set of stairs and find yourselves at a crossroads. The passage continues north and down a second set of stairs. Another tunnel connects to this one, leading west.
With your perception, Krolbrik, you notice something strange about this west-leading tunnel. The footprints which cover the floors of the halls and rooms you've seen stop at the entrance of this tunnel.
(I'll update the map when I get back on my computer)
Aka, you focus on what you've learned about the monster: it has a big roar and it potentially eats people. With no further description to go off of, it could be any number of monsterous beings that go bump in the night.
Krolbrik, no footprints lead into or out of this hallway. They only lead down the north path. As you're examining the floor you notice the reason why: you brush aside a thin layer of dirt on the ground to reveal several thin and rotting planks, below which is a pit of indeterminable depth. A pitfall trap that is 5 feet long and takes up the entire width of the tunnel.
"Everyone... watch your steps. I think the floors have been set to trap the likes of us." Krolbrik SLOWLY backs away from the thin boards, grateful that they hadn't broken under the weight of his bulky frame and chainmail armor. "We should presume from this point onward that we're in hostile company. If there were spirits above us and that bewitched suit of armor, I would not be surprised if there is something foul lurking about here, in the darkness."
"I agree with aka, let's stay on guard and figure out what happened to this family."

Immediately suspicious at the sudden vanishing of the footprints, Krolbrik tries to determine EXACTLY where they disappear.
