Not wanting Suerte to feel bad, Flute giggles a little and applauds Suerte for his efforts. He then turns to Bane and speaks, "Shall we be off then? Are traveling by cart, carriage or horseback?"
skye's applause is purely genuine. this girl loves her some jokes good or bad.

OOC: What are my options on shields? There is only the basic shield in the PHB that grants +2 AC.
Roll me an investigation we'll what you found.
Bane gets up on his horse.
"It's three days ride or nearly a week on a chart and we have seven days," Bane says to Flute. "I'd suggest horses," he adds shrugging.
The Evening Nip is three doors down from a livery. It's the height of the Winter's Crest season so it's going to be interesting to see what your party can find by way of steeds!
Suerte muses out loud, "I've never been that great at convincing people of stuff, unless I'm on a stage, so I'm going to let one of you take point on this."
Flute approaches the livery and attempts to arrange for horses for the party. Possibly working in a discount based on my connections to the cities well known.
Flute manages to charm almost the literal pants off the livery attendant gaining the best the stables has to offer and the party has steeds. Bane at the lead the party leaves town heading south on the Amber Road towards Felderwin.
OOC: I will retain. Felderwin will take a day of hard riding (checks to stay aboard the horse with no ability to perceive danger) or a day and a half at a normal pace (no checks unless danger arises).

"I don't like the idea of rushing, but I'm guessing the sooner we get to Felderwin the better so that the trail doesn't go cold... As cold as the north side of a Horisal gravestone by moonlight," Suerte offers to the group as they ride out of town.
"What? It's not all comedy all the time. Have to get my dramatic skills just as finely tuned."
Skye sticks her tongue out at Bane's back and climbs up on the horse glancing over at Suerte. "Keep the jokes coming as far as I'm concerned, though you might stick to puns. I'm not sure I really got that last one. We got a long road ahead of us, and it'll be boring without some good entertainment."
For that matter, Bane might have to gag her, because she'll be sure to keep up conversation as they travel whether it be in the form of stories of adventures her and her brother have been on or asking lots of questions of her party mates to get to know them better.

"Not a fan of the dramatic, Bane? And it was just metaphor - I didn't break out into a soliloquy," Suerte calls out to Bane.
He then responds to Skye, "It wasn't a joke - just colorful language. Not everything in life is a comedy - and so neither is my trade."
As Bane rides off, Suerte continues to Skye, "I'm sure he liked it - he's probably just trying to push me further in my craft. And thank you for the kind words."
"Probably."She'll concede, though it's fairly clear she doesn't really believe it. "What kind of craft do you do? Drama and comedy?"

"Anything that entertains, so I dabble in everything - comedy, drama, ventriloquism, spoken word, whatever draws a crowd - but hopefully not their weapons," Suerte says with a chuckle.
After traveling for nearly the entire day the party comes to a crossroads where a large Empire troop encampment is settled to the south along the river. The road is blocked as three Crownsgaurd sit at a makeshift blockade over the road's passage.
"This is a task for one you of," Bane speaks again for the first time in several hours as he slips back behind the group allowing the party to move ahead of him but sticking close tonthe rear.
Just feet away from the crossroads the party is stopped.
"Hold," the guard calls out to the group. "Passage beyond this point is restricted," the guard adds. "What's your business here," he adds next with a scowling expression.

Suerte notes Bane backs away and whispers to the others as they approach, "I'll talk to them if you want. I'm sure I can charm them with my skills as an entertainer." Suerte will acquiesce if someone stops him or offers to go in his stead, otherwise, he'll approach the Crownsguard.
"What's the matter? Not a fan of the Empire," Raxil says to Bane as he retreats to the back. He continues on towards the front with Suerte. "What's going on here," the goblin says to the guard which called out to them.
"What...what the...," a Crownsgaurd exclaims pull out his sword as the goblin just casually begins to speak! "Get down for there now," he demands as his comrades also pull their swords.
"Bounty on goblin hide is still 10 gold isn't it," one of rhe other guards says grinning at Rax.
Bane remains in the back still disguised as a dark skinned human man.

At the mention of the length of the journey, Raxil quickly secures a horse for their trek. "My legs are short enough. Can't be slowing us down."
Flute approaches the livery and attempts to arrange for horses for the party. Possibly working in a discount based on my connections to the cities well known.
Rax you found a normal shield +2 which seems to have been mended at one point which only seems to add tp your badass aesthetic!
