" Could have just left with the warning shot, glad none of you are too heavy sleeping" *I grimace in pain as I test my side*
"Well at least he won't be bothering us again." *I take a flask from my coat and swig it before tying up my side* "I think I'm gonna try to sleep this off now if that's alright with you all."
Nelvik takes a deep breath after watching Creolina push the bear off her sword. Nelvik looks at Rhaucred irritated "what are you doing?! Trying to get us all killed?" Nelvik continues, "Who just shoots an arrow towards an unsuspecting bear? Of course it was going to attack!! Ever heard of waking us up and/or being very loud to try and scare it away?" "If it's action you crave I'm sure we'll have it coming up. Just up the road it veers off to become the Triboar trail." Nelvik smiles "If I wanted a pretty penny that's where I would plan an ambush for sure. Once my watch is over and I'll be heading up that way to check it out." "I advise you all to wait for my return before getting to close to the trail road."
Nelvik looks over to Prax and chuckles "that indeed was not a spider, well done." Nelvik walks back towards his tent to finish resting before his turn to watch is up.
*I want to focus on being sneaky up towards what I told my party *
I don't honestly think you helped that much little guy, but if you want to get grumpy about me saving you some sleep that's a battle you can fight with yourself. As I see the bear did just fine waking you up. hahaha. I don't think I could have gotten you out of your tent near as fast. And if it ran it ran. Some do, especially black bears. or did you have trouble seeing what we were dealing with? Not like it was momma with her cubs. No reason to keep after us if we show trouble, but I guess he was hungry. Speaking of which"
*I carve off a chunk of meat from the bear's thigh* "Lets not waste good meat."
"I'm the one that got a bite taken out of me if anyone has an excuse to be grumpy."
After releasing the fireball, and seeing the utter destruction of the flurry of blows that it just received. Prax walls over to the bears fiery corpse and holds his hands out to warm himself. “Well that was exciting! I love the smell of burning flesh..... uhh I mean the smell of burning bodies.... I mean cooking food.” Prax reaches in his bag and grabs a small knife, reaches up and carved a large hunk of meat from the bear, takes some of his paper from his pocket and carefully wraps up 2 large pieces of meat and puts them in his pack. (You can tell me what type of meat I receive or if I need to roll for it). The smaller end piece of meat he bites into timidly, then swallows it all in a couple of mouth fulls. “a little stringy but medium rare.... my favorite!”
Prax hears the back and forth between Nelvik and Rhaucred. He walks over and attempts to shake both of their hands to thank them... but they are so wrapped up in bickering they completely ignore the small gnome. His smile drops... walks back to his tent shoulders and head dropped in sadness while dragging his staff behind him. And says, seemingly to himself “goodnight I guess” not hearing that Nelvik had thanked him.
Prax enters the tent, plops down on the thin mat, and rolls over letting the night take him.
As this is not an exotic meat I would say Prax and Rhaucred without rolling for anything could harvest 1 pound of bear meat each. I will add this to your character sheets shortly.
Dawn breaks at camp. The morning is fairly quiet however a little foggy so visibility is not the best.
Rhaucred, Prax, and Creolina remain at camp. Nelvik left an hour before dawn and about two hours have passed and Nelvik has not yet returned.
What are Rhaucred, Prax, and Creolina doing. Do you ignore Nelvik's warnings about not leaving without word from him and set out? Do you remain at camp a while longer? If so, is there anything you would like to do to pass the time?
Prax awakens and exits the tent. After a few minutes of getting his bearings he notices that Nelvik hasn’t returned yet. “It’s a little odd isn’t it Creolina?”
Without consulting anyone else in the group Prax raises his hand straight into the air and releases 3 Fire Bolts into the sky in hope that Nelvik will see and hear the Fire Bolts and return to camp.
A few minutes later a figure materializes out of the forest. I am Thaleynir of verdant green, a druid servant of the natural world. I saw your blasts of fire and assumed that you were a party in need of assistance. Are there any ails that I can mend fair travelers?
“Well our friend hasn’t returned from his search last night” Prax states. “Rhaucred grab the reins and get that cart moving! We need to head down the path immediately. Something is definitely wrong my friends.”
”Thaleynir it is very nice to meet you. I am Prax and am the one who released the bolts. I would be very happy if you would join us!” Yells Prax.
“We shouldn’t have sent him out by himself” Prax says as he looks at Rhaucred and Creolina.
Prax quickly packs up the tent and throws his camping gear into his pack and jumps into the cart. “Luckily my light can cut through this fog.” Prax raises his crystal, hanging from his staff, and casts Light. A beam cuts through the dying fog but enough to help us until it has dissipated.
Responding to Creolina, “All that lies in the forest is part of my domain, but you did no harm by felling the bear that attacked you. In the wilderness the strong kill the weak in their fight for survival, so I deem your action to be just.”
*while gathering together the cart and oxen* He certainly seemed sure enough of himself, but I had a feeling he might get himself into some trouble.
*Examining the druid* Pleased to make your acquaintance. If the forest is your domain, do you know what kind of trouble out friend might have gotten into at the junction with Triboar Trail?
There are many foul things lurking in these woods. I am not sure what your friend ran into, but if we do not find him soon I fear his fate may be sealed.
*A pensive expression passes across thaylenir’s face* Triboar Trail you say. I seem to remember that area being infested with bandits and goblins when last I passed through. If that is where your friend got lost then we should prepare for a battle.

I'd like to salt and turn my pound into jerky with what is left of the fire while we sleep.
OOC: Very wise! I will make it so. Giving Creolina a chance to post before continuing

...
I would like to see if the sun will come up a little more and burn away the fog and give Nelvik a chance to return.
Prax awakens and exits the tent. After a few minutes of getting his bearings he notices that Nelvik hasn’t returned yet. “It’s a little odd isn’t it Creolina?”

"Was that your Black Bear that we fried?" Creolina asks Thaylenir.
Responding to Creolina, “All that lies in the forest is part of my domain, but you did no harm by felling the bear that attacked you. In the wilderness the strong kill the weak in their fight for survival, so I deem your action to be just.”
I am worried about your friend Nelvik. Was he not a ranger experienced in the art of woodcraft?
