Fergus motions to his companions to leave and once they are out of earshot,Fergus turns to his companions "I agree that the inn closer to the docks would be a more suitable place to stay. We need to find out what is going on in this town and in this kingdom. Sailors are much more likely to open up and talk after a few drinks than merchants and artisans. Also I suspect that as a group we are short of coin and need to be wise on how we spend it. With that in mind Priest, pay a visit to the local temple, I am certain the city's clergy will have some insights. Find out whatever you can learn about Moonwells and how this one got corrupted and more importantly, how to uncorrupt the cursed thing. Dwarf, you check out the craftsmen and smiths to see what they might know. Forester, you have the refugee camp and the surrounding farmsteads. I will visit a couple of noble houses and the merchants. We meet at the inn at dusk."
Fergus looks at his companions in turn to see if there is any hint of objection, IF there is none, THEN he will turn and head toward the merchant's quarter.

As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
Krisnen eyes Fergus for a moment, objection beginning to stir, "Well..." he starts, "...I don't intend to turn down a chance to visit with other Craftsman, so I agree" Krisnen looks back to Vondal, "Could you be pointing me in the way of your smithy street?"
Vondal: " Most certainly. The smith is in the western side of the city, by the merchant quarter. I must warning you: do not expect to find much there, we are low on suppliers. If that is all, I take my leave. May the Earthmother be with you."
The refugee camp is located outside the city's souther wall. The conditions are not good. All the people here comes from pillaged farmsteads and villages and conduct quite a poor life. Every now and then you can see some of the city guards trying to distribute some food and water.
Enog enquires of Vondal before he leaves what temples may be found with in the city, and where they are located.
Vondal:" You have two choices. You can visit the druid groove. Jelenneth is a nice person, although she is having issues with the Moonwell. Or you can go to the Storm Temple, attended by Dona Marivaldi, at the docks."
The merchant's square is not indeed what you would have expected for a renown city such as Caer Callidyr. There are just an handful of merchants, mostly selling food, clothing and other common needs. If asked for the smith, the people in the square can direct you to an alley where Adrik the blacksmith lives and works.
Krisnen makes his way to Adrik's Alley and approaches his shop, he's giddy as it has been a long journey and he missed the familiar sights, sounds, smells even of a forge. 'The tink tink tink of the anvil, the heat blasting off the smelt, the feel of a hammer in my hand..', Krisnen felt a sudden wash of home sickness and his brow furrowed. He stayed in the feeling but a moment though as he cleared his mind and entered the shop and greeted whomever he found with a hearty, "Good morn", betraying the very sad emotions he had felt just moments before.
Adrik:" Good morning to ya. What happended? Orcs ate your dog? " The shop seems rather oderly for a smith. You can see some swords of different kind, shields and medium armours, but nothing more.
Krisnen thought it strange that he would say, 'but I fear not for long', but he let it go. "I am Krisnen of the Iron Halls. Come on behest of your King. However we are not to meet with him till tomorrow..." Krisnen begins to examine some of the wares of the shop, checking them for quality of craftsmanship, "...Are you the sole smith for this shop?"
Adrik:" A meeting with King Kendrick, eh? He is a good man, although many think he has not what it takes to save Callidyr. Anyway...Yes I am the only one in here...or in the city for that matter. Can I help you with something?".
OOG Well the roll is good enough in any case, but I thought INT was appropriate because is an investigation-like check. What would you suggest in this case?
Other Intelligence Checks
The DM might call for an Intelligence check when you try to accomplish tasks like the following:
Communicate with a creature without using words
Estimate the value of a precious item
Pull together a disguise to pass as a city guard
Forge a document
Recall lore about a craft or trade
Win a game of skill
Krisnen sees the quality of the equipment of Adrik is good enough for common tasks. Not remarkable, but still reliable.
Krisnen nods, "I agree, not having to watch my tongue around the prissy elite would definitely be more relaxing" he shoots a wink to Enog
OOG So you want to ask something else to good Vondal? Or you go exploring the city?

OOC No objection here. I will go check out the farmstead and camp.
Long days and pleasant rolls to everyone.

"Whats that?" Krisnen replied, his look a bit puzzled, "No, no Dogs for me, Are you Adrik, the smith?"
Adrik: " That be me, yes, but I fear not for long. And who are you? I take you are not from Alaron..."
Krisnen thought it strange that he would say, 'but I fear not for long', but he let it go. "I am Krisnen of the Iron Halls. Come on behest of your King. OOC: Can I gauge the quality of the items in the shop?
OOG Make a INT check, if you proficient with the smith's tools, use the proficiency bonus as well.
INT(Smiths Tools): 6
OOC: It feels weird to me that the best craftsman in the world would have to be wizard level intelligent.
