Sim thanks Lafetha with a grateful nod doing a quick check of his chest where the claws raked him glad to see them gone. "Alright now that we are rested and healed up a bit I suggest we get moving and remember those things hunt together so keep alert but move quickly and quietly and we should get to the campsite soon. Yaalin good thinking with the waterskins."
The group gathers their water, heals their wounds, and continues along their journey. By the time you get to a solid place to rest, night has fallen. But - you find a spot that’s mostly sheltered from the elements.
(6 x2 food found for Survival roll from Sim)
(water refilled during short rest)
(I need two things. First - are you on first watch, or second. And Two - a WIS/Perception roll. Long rest has not happened yet)
The group makes camp. Setting up the tent, cooking some food from small game and other things found during the journey. So far, outside the ration Diadochi bet away, you all have yet to break into supplies. Looking ahead and the eventual steep climb, it's a blessing. Higher elevations, a temple, all places that there may not be things to eat, at least easily. But you know you have at least another day or two before reaching there. The night is crisp, the sounds of the ecosystem waking up filling the air more and more. Colors of the old world swirling brighly in the sky out here.
The first watch group goes by without any issue. Some light talking as they rotate on sentry duty letting the others rest, meditate, patch up the wounds from the day. Sometimes sharpening a blade or making sure armor wasn't too tented.
As Abigail, Lefatha, and Yaalin maintain their watch, the fire suddenly goes out. Both Abigail and Lafetha look around as the world shifts to a more grey color - your darkvision becoming stronger without the firelight. as you turn to find out what happened, something's already gone. Bags and supplies lay scattered around. Yaalin, you find yourself in the dark suddenly. Then, something grabs at one of your backpacks, trying to yank it away from you. While you maintain your stance, you feel one of the bags get lighter. Some of your items hitting the ground and spilling out.
When Lafetha and Abigail turn to the sound, you see one of Yaalin's sacks torn open just enough to let a small hand go through. You search again, only to see a Goblin's face. The same Goblin you saw on the ice field. It placing a finger over its mouth, as if telling you to keep quiet, before it takes step away out of the range of your darkvision and into the night.
You glance back at Sim and Diadochi, they're physically fine. Just bags turned over and some things scattered. Yet, nobody has finished their long rest... and pursing now will lead you to chasing them in the dark...
"Little shits!" Abigail whisper-yells as they move out of range. Abigail starts after the goblin...
Not sure what skills will be needed, but here are my guesses:
Abigail is mad, not crazy, there are probably more than just a couple goblins, and the one she saw may have been returning a favor for us not lopping off his head like we should have. So, she is going to try to keep a low profile. Stealth: 21
It is dark and her vision will only help so much in tracking them down, but she is also trying to pin point where they are going based any sounds they might be making. Perception: 13.
((I figure Survival or Investigation would be utilized a little later in the process, when you do not have the option to maybe catch glimpses of them or hear them running once they think they are not being followed.))
Abigail sets off, heading into the dark before the others. Diving behind some rocks, and moving cover to cover she's able to catch a quick glimpse of the goblins.
The one who she saw fade into the dark tosses over a few stones to one of the wolf riders that were waiting a bit further out. Then, some coins to the others. It being dark, it's hard to figure out exactly how much. But those stones... they're the ones that Yaalin was keeping on her after the goblin's raided the town. There's a few quick voices; before the wolf riders begin to head out. The lone Goblin grabbing a backpack off the ground and placing it over it's shoulders, seeming to be taking its time before heading out in the same direction.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
There's a noise it makes that Abigail can only assume is it cursing. The figure turning around quickly to see her. It's face turning into a bit of a snark as there's the faintest flash of light from it's fist.
Attack: 16 Damage: 8
Attack: 18 Damage: 9
Attack: 13 Damage: 7
Attack: 16 Damage: 7
The Goblin quickly lands blow after blow. Seeming to know where, and how to strike with it's tiny fists. Punching into organs, along points that channel energy in a body. (Nonlethal strikes)
Abigail...
you hear a voice as the Goblin whispers before you black out. "I need you, and those Apostates alive...."
doesn't return for a few moments. Yaalin and Lafetha, you hear a screech and a flash of light. What do you do?
(Abigail will regain consciousness in 3 hours. (revive at 1 HP, unless healed by magic / etc)
It takes Yaalin a few moments to find out what went missing, and finding Abigail in the dark. The healing passes over Abigail, returning her vision and dulling the ringing from the strikes of the goblin. Looking around, they're gone.
Returning to camp, all are able to finish their long rest. Chasing down a creature that can see in the dark, compared to your group being forced to move with torches would only aid your opponent... When morning comes, you're able to get things together rather quickly. It's only been a few hours since the attack and the theft. The weather is clear, and you know the general direction they were going. As folks get ready to set out, there's a brief discussion on the pace to set. You know if someone assists Sim up front, he may be able to track the goblins easier. And while you've been maintaining a normal pace, you could all start to hurry (penalty to almost everyone's passive perceptions), or try to take it slow (group can attempt to stealth).
What do you do?
(Front / Middle / Rear. If someone is in the front w/Sim, he can roll w/advantage. Fast: -5 passive perception except Sim due to favored terrain. Slow: group can attempt stealth)
"I suggest we keeping moving, but we need to keep an eye out for those pesky goblins. I ha e a feeling that will not be the last time we will be seeing them."
Either way we go ((goblins or temple)) survival10 for food and things.

When they wake in the morning and Sim finds out what happened to Abigail in the night and what was said Sim quickly gets everyone packed up ensures they have full water bottles all the while muttering to himself "We sat together in peace and talked and now he robs us. Well if he needs our help in some way he can just ask!" Knowing they could not have gone that far he tells the others his intent to track the Goblins. Sim is especially interested in talking to the leader he had previously met who he now believes to be the unifier of clans. "He owes us some answers." he tells the others as he sets off leading the way. He is moving faster than usual.
While the others rest by the stream Yaalin fills all their water skins.
'lets move quickly. I would like to be somewhere defensible before dark.'
Lafetha casts cure wounds on Sim, she touches his shoulder 4. She then casts cure wounds 5. After she says, "much better. okay, let's push forward."

"So, are we going on to the temple still, or hunting down the goblin menace... Because I am game either way."
