Strix sighs and takes out his hatchet, preparing to swing, then smiles and giggles a little when he realises the misunderstanding. As Vaz picks up the legs, Strix grabs the shoulders and starts drag-lifting towards the cells.
Varinth giggles as well, doing a little snort, which in turn makes him giggle more. The absurdity of what they are doing is starting to dawn on him. Perhaps he will make a habit of this adventuring malarkey.
Strix and Varinth, you slowly ferry the five Redbrands into the Townmaster's Hall. You move through a rather absurdly-overdecorated main office into a corridor which leads to two small jail cells. Each cell is obviously intended for just one person but can probably handle four or five people without too much trouble; there's a bucket in the corner and a very stereotypical high window slit with bars set in the outer wall, through which moonlight enters. There's no-one in the building, but there's a chair near the cells, and Hester grumpily takes a seat in between unlocking and locking the cell doors each time you bring a new unconscious Redbrand for 'storage'. The Redbrands still all seem to be sleeping peacefully.
When you are done, Hester pockets the keys, sits on the chair and folds his arms. I suppose I'll stay here while you go and finish the job. Right? And you'll be expecting a reward for this too, no doubt.
Strix, just before you entered the building for the first time you saw a noticeboard near the front door with one notice pinned to it, though you didn't get close enough to read it.
With the help of Zoria and/or Soodi, Varinth will head back to the Sleeping Giant (an apt name now) to retrieve the other two Redbrands as well as Master Scupper.
Strix's level of literacy is relatively rudimentary. He'd recognise words commonly seen on any signage around blacklake, the nest or the river district in Neverwinter. Actually, just googled it and it seems my knowledge of Neverwinter's layout is decades / centuries out of date depending on whether I'm a player (of the 2002 PC original!) or a character. Whatever the crap end of town is called now - Bluelake, and the area around the Chasm maybe? Anyway, fancy words will fly over his head but anything that sounds phonetically funny when "blended" (ie. read with no understanding of irregular pronunciations) or where the arrangement of letters creates a Roarschachian image worth noting will cause him to elbow Varinth to share it with him.
On his way between cell and street to collect another sleeping beauty, Strix takes a closer look at the note.
Dario stops short as Incantis is quick to point out the false floor before them. "Good eye, Incantis. Should we go back from where we came and check the other rooms? Or should we risk it and try to shuffle along the edge?"

"GODS YES! A reward is most definitely required. No doubt these ruffians have taken enough from this town, we should be given enough to equalize that out, what with them being no longer able to take from this town and all."
"No other rooms that I can recall."Incantis says. "I'd eldritch blast the floor away, but I don't want to risk the noise. Jump or shuffle, I put this in your hands, ranger."

Dario sighs and looks at the gap. "Alright, let's see if I can edge my way across." Darioslings his long bow on his back. His gives a short little prayer to his god Malar and hugging the wall he makes his first step along the edge to the other side of hallway.
Dario, you edge around the side of the pit; with the dust still in place, it feels risky with each step, but you're very agile; you can test the strength of your footing and you know you're stepping on stone, not thin planks. You make it all the way across, and can feel that the pit does indeed come to an end ten feet from its start. You are standing near to the door, which you can now see has a carving on an angel on it.
Incantis, you are still on the far side of the pit.
Dekhan looks at Hester Taking care of this lot should be enough to warrant a reward, but you can just give us one lump sum when we’ve taken care of your problem. Is there anything you can tell us about their hideout? Or anything else you think might help us help you?
Dekhan looks at Hester Taking care of this lot should be enough to warrant a reward, but you can just give us one lump sum when we’ve taken care of your problem. [RIGHT HERE] Is there anything you can tell us about their hideout? Or anything else you think might help us help you?
Zoria and Dekhan, Hester replies: There's a reward. If you finish the job, you'll be paid. That means finish, and properly. Kill the leader, and either kill the Redbrands... his voice drops to a whisper as he says this, and he is clearly nervous to say such things even if the Redbrands are unconscious... or drive them out of town. Properly out. So they won't come back. And you can't just leave them here. He nods at the cells. We're not feeding them.
I can pay 200 gold from the town coffers. I think, and I make no guarantees, but I think you will get another 200 gold from the citizens and businesses of the town. Linene and Halia will pay. Elmar and Tolben too. Maybe some others. That Sildar fellow has been chewing my ear off all day, and seems to have no lack of gold.
Varinth, you and the others manage to bring the two remaining Redbrands to the cells without incident. You now have seven jailed Redbrands.
Very well. Now, how do we proceed? Should we head to the manor and see if we can locate Dario and Incantis? Perhaps Strix and Scup could lead the way stealthily while Vaz, Zoria, and I follow at a slight distance
Dekhan, Hester says to you: I don't know a damn thing about the old manor. Tresendar Manor they call it. Apparently there's a fine amount of space down below it, but no-one in this town knew about it before the thugs turned up. And I don't know about the leader either, except there must be one. Maybe you should ask one ofthem. He waves at the sleeping Redbrands.

"I agree with this plan. Should we wait outside the manor, or go into it and see if we can meet up with Dario and Incantis?"

"That's some good information for someone who doesn't 'know a damn thing about the old manor'."
Scupper, having been collected with the last two Redbrands, speaks up...
"What did that one fella say afore he shuffled the mortal coil? An entrance seldom used...course he coulda been full o' shite and me memory is muddled fer some reason." He looks at the passed out Redbrands. "Oh right, because we jest drank this lot under the table...out the door...and into jail. Hehe"
He looks to his friends. "Lads I worry about our crewmates. Sure and they might be fine but there's some questionable monster types plus that wizard somewhere within that manor and I'd rather they not face that on their lonesome. We needs to regroup."
Dario takes out his 50 ft hemp rope from his supplies. Holding on to one end he tosses the other over towards Incantis. "Tie it around your waist. Then follow the steps I took along the edge. If you fall I'll have you by the rope."
Strix sighs and takes out his hatchet, preparing to swing, then smiles and giggles a little when he realises the misunderstanding. As Vaz picks up the legs, Strix grabs the shoulders and starts drag-lifting towards the cells.

Zoria rolls her eyes and makes a very audible groan.
"Shod?" Zoria repeats. "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean?"

Strix, the noticeboard outside the Townmaster's Hall bears a single notice, perhaps a week or so old. It is written in Common, and says:
"REWARD — Orcs near Wyvern Tor! Those of a mind to face the orc menace should inquire within."
There is a seal, probably of the town, and a scribbled signature that might be Hester's.
Zoria reiterates "LUMP SUM!"

That’s that settled then. Let’s go find our friends and settle this business.
