Taint' a puppy, Dekhan and this arm taint' a side o' saltpork. Scupper nudges the arm with his boot. It's those wee one's father most like...offered to us to snack on. Not saying we should waste time chasin' after, just pointing out i'll have one eye behind me til we know better. Glasstaff has been feedin' it and we ain't planning to give it the same deal.
Scupper, as you approach the arm, you also come closer to the crevasse. You get a strange feeling, very slight, of a chill emanating from the crevasse itself. It doesn't feel like this is the creature, though - it's something different. You feel like you want to get closer.
Incantis makes his way forward to catch up with the party "Chilly crevasse in our path, leads us on towards wizard's wrath. False bridge south and true ahead, careful we don't wind up dead." As his voices swell through the party's minds, it starts to take on subtle qualities it hadn't before for all but Dario. Its dissonant and multivoiced timbre begins to ebb from cacophony into twisting and undulating harmonic motions, their beating and resonant frequencies seeming to rise into the heavens themselves.

"Feckin hells, lad! We jest had that...thing...dancin' round our skulls. Can we leave us our head alone fer jest a moment. I know dis line o' head talk is normal fer ya, but til yesterday, me head was me own."
Scupper starts to climb down the crevasse just to make sure there's nothing waiting to eat him without a proper introduction.
"Let's make sure we're all set and then we'll head off after this wizard. I'm jest gonna follow this scent a step or two and make sure I'm not crazy. Nothing to delay us lads."
Dekhan follows after Scupper, stopping for a moment to smile as he pats the elf on the shoulder. I thought your poem was nice, Cantis. He draws his sword and shadows the hafling.
Varinth, you contemplate the mystery of the rock for several minutes, but much remains unanswered.
Dekhan, you follow Scupper down into the crevasse. You feel that it's a little colder down here than you would expect, but you're not sure of the source of this.
Scupper, you feel the cold energy surround you and sink into you; you've known extremes of cold during your time at sea, and never been a particular fan of the sensation. But this cold, it feels as welcoming and familiar as a warm hearth in a favourite tavern. It enters your bones, and makes its home there where it always belonged. You don't want to lose this.
And then, in a moment, the sensation is gone, and you are a halfling standing in a slightly chilly hole in the ground.
I’m for having a bit of reconnoissance if you stealthy lads feel like leading the way, or I could go in front with Zoria as quiet as we can be. Whatever you think. Steel and spell first, questions after? If there’s anyone to ask?
Did Blinky point "North and West" towards the stairs close to the southern bridge or towards the corridor by the northern bridge?
Strix nods emphatically.
Bleed 'em not heed 'em. Strix is pezmist. Glasstaff half-empty guy. But we sneaky sneak - bugbees, reddies, wiz, not want blunder in.
i.e. "yes, let us smite our foes, but I recommend a stealthy approach given we don't know numbers." Last time we faced a single bugbear he gave us a decent amount of trouble. This time there's more than one and they have a Wizard backing them up and redbrands running interference. We need surprise, we need to shut the wizard down fast and then see if we can convince the others that we're in charge now. Who are the "lords" who are hunting Glasstaff? If he's rebelling against upper tier bad-guys, we can pose as their agents. But someone with a decent Charisma score should do that, Strix can't convince an eskimo it's cold outside.
In terms of shutting the wizard down, looking up the Grapple rules it doesn't look like having him in a full nelson stops him at all, which is odd - no restrictions on somatic or component effects in the rules for Grappling, you'd have to Restrain him. Does anyone have a Silence spell? Or should we just punch him in the face repeatedly like an enraged ice-hockey player to disrupt his concentration?
Strix, the creature seemed to be indicating the twisting passageway at F6 when he directed the group towards Glasstaff.
There is a Grappler feat that allows you to turn a grapple into a restrain, but I don't think anyone in the party has that. If anyone has manacles or rope, I would allow one person to grapple and a second person to attempt to apply restraints, but you'd need to succeed at both checks. Sadly, repeated punching might disrupt a concentration spell, but won't prevent a caster from using most one-action spells.
Charisma is not Zoria's strong suit either lol also, glad I did not miss combat! We can throw away all of those rolls Steve!
As for the magic items, I would only be interested in items that increase AC or magical hammers.
"Do not forget, I am holding a potion of invisibility. Mayhaps Scupper use this to search on ahead for the Glasstaff? Unless we believe scouting is not necessary, then we should all be moving forward. The sooner we're out of here, the sooner our pockets are heavier."
Scupper shrugs...

Too true, Scup, too true. Let us do what we can to avenge this injustice.
Scupper starts to lean out over the edge just a touch to get a better view
Any o' you feel that? Somethin' in the air.
Dekhan will close his eyes, center himself, and attempt to sense what Scupper is talking about.
Varinth will go investigate the creatures "Hiding Rock"
Investigation : 18
Varinth is only vaguely aware that it is, indeed, a rock.

Scupper, make an Arcana check.
Note: No-one saw Scupper do or say anything unusual - he just stood still for a moment at the bottom of the crevasse, lost in thought.
Scupper arcana check

Heh...s'gone now whatever it was...
Scupper, the feeling is definitely gone, and now you just want to get out of this hole in the ground.
Zoria trots over the northern bridge and joins Vaz in an Investigation of the creature's hiding rock: 15
She's more confident than Vaz that it is, indeed, a rock.
"Right. Whatever. Sorry lads. Let's go. Anyone wanna throw a rope? Jest one end, mind ye."
Confounded by Mystery Rock, Vaz gives up and throws one end of his rope down to his mate.
As he helps pull Scupper up the western side he contemplates their next move.
So, Scouting or All In do ya think?
"I've no idea, Vaz. Sure and I wish we could jest drink this last lot into jail as well."
