Dekhan, Sildar returns your shake, strongly. He's fully recovered from his ordeal with the goblins. Thank you for trusting me with the lad. I will do my best.
Nars takes the dagger reverently, gives you a beaming smile, and then carefully wraps it and puts it away in his room. Only if I have no choice, he says. Until I'm ready. I know.
He smiles, and hugs you. Come back safe, Sir Dekhan. His mother embraces you too, and thanks you for spending so much time with him. His sister waves shyly from the doorway, but disappears when you look over to her.
Strix, make a Performance check as you attempt to describe what you want to Freda.

Performance : 8.
"Face is problem. Man see Strix, look through man, see beast, is beneath. Need new face. Man see new Strix, look through beast face see man inside, not look furthers. Simples! Making face!"
Strix, Linene sees you coming and bars the door. You'll have to find another way to get caltrops.
You can sell 60 gold pieces worth of gems at Barthen's, but he's unable to pay for more right now, because he paid towards your reward and then some centaur won a little more from him than he could really afford. He mentions that if you or others in the party spend a bit more gold in his shop, he'll be able to buy more from you, and also probably more if you come back to town after some traders have passed by.
As i recall, the Rockseeker brothers were expected here at some point near future. I had hoped to wait 'em out but perhaps Sildar has more information to help us plan. Meanwise, I'm not opposed te helpin the town with the rest o' their troubles. Figurin' the undead sounds the least straightforward...do we talk to 'em, find 'em better graves, or play knucklebones for money?
"I musta missed that plan...as of right now, we have killed anyone that could lead us to Gundren, the Black Spider or the Lost Mine. Even if we could successfully impersonate a Rockseeker, who're we impersonatatin' to? There's no one to see."
"Well my plan is, to sew the seeds of Rockseeker into the ears of anyone who will listen. Then I'm sure that word will get back to the Black Spider, as he has so far captured 3 (or 2?) Rockseekers. So he is obviously looking for them. If we provide him with another, via magical abilities of making someone look like a dwarf, we can watch him get kidnapped and it will lead us straight to the Black Spider! It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, I tell you! Genius, I say!"
Genius yes it is but it may too late. If he's or she (or perhaps even it) has got all the brother's, which is looking likely, then they may have already given up the secret to the location of the Magic Forge or Lost Mine or whathaveyou. Another brother would not be necessary. Methinks we should do the Banshee's Book first as that may only be some parlay. Then we come back to town and have us some healing potions which may prove useful against an Overt of Orcs and the experience of dealing with her will gain us a little knowledge about dealing with the dead that don't die should we wish to tackle the Ghoul Infested Windmill.
Varinth obviously has more cranking upstairs in the mornings when sipping on a hot mead.
As I recall, only Gundren was taken...possibly one other. The letter I have only mentions one so it's either in response to Gundrens capture or before it. Now I don't remember who and I drink too much to be completely reliable on this but I thought someone in town had expected 2 brothers to arrive soon. Am I wrong?
Zoria, if there's a spy in town, they're already aware we killed Glasstaff and everyone else at the manor so we'd just need to wait for our assassins. We wouldn't fool anyone here about another capture since we killed anyone who could capture them...and then had a public hanging to sink it in.

"No worries...I ain't been killing as well as you so we all got our benefits 😉...now does anyone remember if it was Sildar or someone what said te expect the brothers?"
Gundren was taken. We know that for certain. The other two brothers are a mystery but we can conclude they were probably taken or killed defending the mine, since they're not back. Which means Gundren probably divulged the location of the mine under torture. At this point we're just gunna have to hope we trip over some clues in our travels...
Varinth takes a long swig of his mead.
Have you seen Strix turn his head all the way round? Do it Mr Strix! It's soo bizarre. He smiles Good Bizarre! He adds quickly
I jest remember some ol' fart saying there were two brothers nearby and they were expected back to resupply...if it weren't Sildar, then it were someone else...Ifn' they ain't back and they're captured, then we're proper fecked because I can't think of any other possible way to find this mine short o' discoverin' it ourselfs.
Dekhan meets Sildar’s gaze. Thank YOU, Sildar. Look after these people. Call on me if ever you need, Sister Garaele knows where to send word.
While saying his goodbyes Dekhan presses a small pouch with 20 gold in it into Mirna’s hand. You’ve good children, Mirna, take care of them, and yourself as well. Trust in Sildar and Sister Garaele. I’ll be back to look in on you all when I can.
With the group: wWhile I do hate the blight undead represent, I do know from Sister Garaele that the book recovery is important, perhaps we could do both and then return? For expediency’s sake?

By some miracle of luck, you do recall that it was Elmer Barthen who mentioned that the other two Rockseeker brothers were due back in town several days ago, and Sildar who just mentioned they were late and he was worried about them. Asking around town reveals that no-one has a clue where they were, or at least, most folk assume they were at the 'Lost Mine' and no-one knows where that is.
Do you want to ask the three quest givers for more exact information on their locations?
Dekhan, Sister Garaele doesn't know anything about the lost mine. She is, however, happy to tell you a little more about the quest she has given you. It's in the Neverwinter Wood; you need to head east along the Triboar Trail for about two days to the ruined town of Conyberry, then cut northwest into the Wood itself.

Strix bangs on Linene's door twice, calling "See? Lion boxes! Hooooot!" then heads over to Freda's, delighted with her work which he sports proudly as he slinks into the inn, taking a table alone for breakfast.

In the corner, Strix looks around him - who could they be talking to? Certainly not him in his Paramilitary Teenage Thug disguise!
"best money spent!"he chuckles to himself.

He struts past the table, walking like, you know, normal people do, then abruptly stops and lifts the balaclava - a maniacal grin splits his face to which he points frantically, then lowers the mask again and walks on, heading over to Elmer's where hopefully is slightly more welcome, if only by the horses.
Shopping :
Caltrops x 2 - 2gp (They're on the list you linked for Elmer, adventuring gear rather than weapons)
Lock (to go with the wolf chain) - 10gp
Manacles (we have taken a LOT of prisoners!) - 2gp
Mirror (Steel) - 5gp (if I pay extra can it be less of a vanity, more of a small-form-factor telescopic jobby for looking around corners and under doors?)
Rations x 4 - 2Gp
2nd Waterskin - 2sp
The aforementioned hood - 4sp.
(Total : 21Gp 6Sp)
He also sells some of the jewelry the group have had him mule around (2xPeridot, 3xCanelian -> 60Gp)
Finally he rejoins the group in the inn, catching Dekhan just before he leaves and handing each a pouch containing
Loot Divvy (by 6, fare thee well Dario!) -> 11GP 1EP 4SP 6CP Each
Varinth's plan sounds good to me. I don't think any of us have the facility to disguise ourselves convincingly as a dwarf unless Incantis fancies taking Mask of Many Faces but that would be giving up the likes of Agonizing Blast or Book of Ancient Secrets or any number of far less situational invocations for what is probably a bit of a long shot ( and a really cool out-of-combat power, admittedly) - L3->4 is a long time to have to live with that gamble if it doesn't pay off.
If we're going to chat with a Banshee and potentially be fighting undead, do we need silvered / magical weapons? Not sure the expertise exists in the village though and I don't see any sold by default. Does Talon count as magical?
