Incantis watches wretchedly as Zhudala disappears, looking for all the world like a waking musician realizing the song of his dreams, the perfect song, is steaming like water out of his mind. "I..did have a dream...many nights ago. A brillian--ack--",the half-elf reverts to telepathy as the frog in his throat becomes too much. "A brilliant gem, hammered and honed, bright until blinding..."He stares wistfully off before his eyes snap back into focus. "The very same on my amulet."He continues, "I know not the outcome of my actions, but entering here...this gem was meant to be here, perhaps to return. It is its fate, and mine to deliver it. I can't explain but it must happen, and there's no need for alarm."

Ye got a little zealous there, lad. Had us all pretty worried. Dekhan, what'd that harpie tell ye that was so important about the gem that'd make us trust her over him? I've got yer back mostwise but do we really think this little dip in the fire is dangerous?
Varinth will hop down from the table. Puffing ineffectually on his pipe he will casually walk out of the room, wanting a little distance between himself and the brazier should things go boom.
Dekhan’s shoulders slump a bit as he relaxes. Wonderful, Cantis, that’s all we ask, a moment to reflect. Now, if I’m honest I don’t remember exactly what the dark elf said about the amulet going into the brazier exactly... does anyone else?
Feckin' hell. Right. We're on edge te be sure. That witch has us chasing our tails and she's miles away. Incantus. Speak true, lad. Were you jest...entranced a second ago? Waking dream? You were hells bent on forging that gem.
(I think she only spoke of it to Incantis and Scupper, and was very unspecific - simply that whatever happens it was supposed to be her destiny not his. And she was quite keen for Scupper to hold on to it rather than let Incantis take it. However, she gave Strix a warning not to trust Incantis, and at the time Incantis had begun wearing Vyerith's amulet, That's been eating away for a while... so in my mind seeing Inky move towards the brazier when he knows the Brazier conveys some kind of magical effect would set him off.
Anyway, I took the whole thing to be about Patrons. Patrons regularly pitch their beneficiaries against each-other - survival of the fittest! If they have the same patron, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the Patron will withdraw favour from one if the other demonstrates they are the superior bet. It could be as simple as Inky will receive a boon from their GOO and Vyerith will become a regular commoner. Could also summon some kind of cosmic horror from beyond the veil to consume our brains.... As a former Warlock, my player brain says let him do it :D But Strix disagrees.)
"Entranced only by purpose", Incantis replies, resummoning Zhudala. He reaches out to take the amulet, and lifts it to show the party the flickering light within and how it responds to the brazier. "Forge it? No...its just meant to be here..."

Incantis, as you hold up the amulet, the flickering from the gem and the brazier both intensify, and you definitely feel a pull as the amulet wants to draw closer to the dancing green flames.
Dekhan cocks his head to the side as he examines the amulet’s connection to the brazier Perhaps it will increase the abilities that the brazier conveys for a time? Or end it’s magic entirely. Or do nothing. Or explode. I’m sorry, boys, I’m a bit out of my depth here.
Well hells again. Feck it. I didn't trust the wench so much as found her the sort of likable distrusting type.
Dekhan, if you've no further objections, I'd say let him have at it.
Scupper pulls at his cloak under Dekhan's shield. Eh. Can I have me cloak back. Not even sure if its still wearable. What's supposed te be the key te this thing anyway? A password?
Incantis looks somberly at his companions. "I ask not to dictate your fates, only to follow my own. Please step back all of you; I will bear the consequences."

Dekhan is up, but if you're definitely going to use your words, then we can come out of initiative.

Thanks, for the recap Nun!

BAGATXH! ...Not Dead Jim's password anyway.
Well, if we’re in agreeance, who am I to stand in the way of progress? Dekhan pulls his shield off of the brazier.
Seeing opinion swing in Incantis' favour, Strix slumps and gets out of the way.
"Don't say didn't warn" he mutters.

Scupper steps out of the room, casting a sideways glance at Incantus in case it's the last time he sees him and throwing his cloak back on.
C'mon lads. We still have te find that spider. That should be more'n enough excitement te go round. Hey... Does this cloak look anymore magical?
Scupper leaves the room and joins Varinth outside; that leaves Strix and Dekhan still with Incantis, right? Are you guys also moving?
Varinth, what are you doing now?
Varinth leans on the wall just left of the doorway, outside the room.
Dekhan hefts his shield and stands with Incantis.
Strix grumbles but stays in the room in case he needs to try to undo whatevers about to happen

Dekhan, Scupper and Varinth wait outside, while Strix remains inside and Incantis stands near - but not next to -the brazier.
I guess it's Incantis' move.
