The thug of the day before mentioned a hideout entrance NEAR the Broken Lance. I'm not familiar wit it. And well that Dwarven place where they hit before...before...Triboar! Anyway...jest that.
[OOC] didn't inky have the ability to make a detailed illusion of the face. More like a painting than a description?
Strix screws up his eyes and concentrates until the shadows under his chair coalesce in front of him into a stickman with a beard. He patiently awaits his plaudits
We intend to cut them out, root and branch. Their evil will not go unpunished nor their menace left unchecked. Whatever we have to do, we will do it.he looks at Strix‘s shadow puppet. That is quite a nice approximation, Strix, but not exactly enough to go off of. Sapling would be a good name for youngling members I suppose... my master called me wanderer sometimes, but I think that was more a description of my thoughts than a rank.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
All I can suggest is that you follow up any leads you have. You know of a location tied to them? Go and investigate, though... I would encourage you to do so without attracting too much attention, if you can.
Incantus...let us see this leader you've managed from their minds. Can ye not use yer magic to craft an image for us to look upon. I'd like te know the face o' me enemy.
Incantis casts minor illusion, calling upon his memory of the bearded man. A shimmering simulacrum of a bust manifests in the center of the common room. "Indeed I did get a read from one of the bandits, all I got was this face. I didn't get a location though I did my best to coax it out of his thoughts; my guess is lower grunts simply haven't been to headquarters. As for the Broken Lance,"he nods to Scupper, "there is indeed an abandoned building nearby that fits the description. Zhudala has been keeping watch there for the past day, but nothing stirs." To Green: "Do you recognize this man?"

I don't, I'm afraid. I think you are correct - he may have been the highest rank a new recruit dealt with, while also being far below the true leadership. She frowns as she says this. Though that suggests a larger organisation than I believe this truly is. I suspect that the leadership simply comes from outside Waterdeep in many cases. We will have to dig to learn more. However, the face is useful. Can you hold it in place for a few minutes?
Over the next ten minutes, if Incantis is willing, she takes paper and pencils and sketches the face, making four copies in total. I can have a few other people take a look at this.
"Mysteries upon mysteries...this is getting quite exciting I'll admit..." Incantis will happily wait the ten minutes, taking a moment to check in with Zhudala. "I appreciate this Vhairi, I don't recognize this face at all so any assistance is helpful. I'll say I'm intrigued and impressed by the network you seem to have, would you mind telling me more about the Harpers?"

Incantis, in response to your question Vhairi says: The Harpers are rather secretive, I'm afraid. Like the Zhentarim, I suppose. I would say that they oppose tyranny first of all, and seek the common good. If it interests you to learn more, and perhaps to join, then dealing with this gang seems an excellent beginning. My apologies if I seem cautious, but... well, these things take time.
She has no idea who Soodi is, so does not comment on Varinth's question.
Okay guys, you've done pretty much everything you can with Vhairi and the Harpers, at least for the moment.
You have three main options to move ahead. - To explore the lead you have on the bandits' hide-out - where Zhudala is lurking - To investigate what has happened to Soodi - the last place you saw her was back at the Blushing Mermaid - To speak to your new contacts in the guards about the bandit gang - you know there's a Captain whose leading the investigation, though you don't know her name or location.
Let's try and pick up the pace a bit. Don't be reluctant to take action before a consensus is reached; at this point, your choices are not really blocking off the other options at a later stage.
That feckin camel is smarter than you are most nights... certainly more sober. Maybe the city has her wanderin about gettin free food. Sure and the kids always take an interest... but there's not been many camels in this city I've seen, so I'll ask around the docks for ye, lad.
Let's see if we can't find this hideout.
Tanks fer yer time and help, i suppose...vague and wordy though it be. These secret societies really have that bit down.
Incantis nods to Vhairi. "I understand fully, and it seems our interests are aligned either way."To the party, "I agree with Scupper, I've had Zhudala scout the supposed hideout but she hasn't found anything and I'd like to see it in the flesh. And I can't help but feel as though we might find information about Soodi as we do so..."
Incantis is in favor of option 1.

Find hideout. Look for Soodi on the way. See I was listenin' ! Vaz says with a smile even though a knot is forming in his stomach.
He will ask around the docks if anyone has seen a camel and also purchase a large onion if he finds one for sale. If they swing by the Mermaid he will obviously ask the stable boys if they have seen her.
Dekhan bows his head to Vhairi Thank you for your hospitality and your counsel, Lady Green, we will keep you abreast of our progress.Dekhan heads for the door I like the sound of that, Vaz, let's go and case out this hideout entrance and see what we see. Cantis, can you reach Zhudala from here or do you need to be closer?
The Blushing Mermaid is quite a way to the south of where you are now, and not on the way to the suspected hideout. Varinth, you purchase an onion (1cp), and though you ask around about camels, no-one has seen one recently except for one woman who recalls seeing you both together two days ago while walking through the streets.
You head through the busy Waterdeep streets north into the Sea Ward to Darselune Street and the Broken Lance tavern. On the way you pass by the great Market of Waterdeep, a mix of large buildings and open areas of stalls that seems to be the main hub for shopping for the rich and poor of the city alike. The streets are busy but not overcrowded, and you make good time.
Incantis, on the way there, still perhaps half an hour's walk from your destination, you get a ping from Zhudala. (I assume you will look through her eyes to see the cause). Four men, all young-looking humans, are climbing up the stairs from the basement of the abandoned house; they are wearing armour that looks much like any mercenary or low-rate adventurer would wear, nothing that would stand out on the streets of Waterdeep. They leave the building, not noticing the invisible Zhudala, and head north.
You keep going, eventually reaching the somewhat quieter Sea Ward which mainly consists of large, high-walled villas, with expensive-looking shops and taverns dotted around. And there stands the Broken Lance tavern, and opposite it an abandoned house - you haven't seen many of those in this well-to-do part of town.
What would you like to do?
Incantis, what do you want Zhudala to do (or have done)?
Could Scupper put the word out among those lowlifes that know who he is that he’s looking for a particular camel that’s gone missing and will pay handsomely for good information?
Scupper would be able to do that but it would take time - to travel to the right places, find and speak to the right people. He hasn't made significant contacts in the underworld since arriving, and though it would be easier for him than for most people, it still takes times and effort...
