Scupper, there is another exit from this room, yes, over in the east wall. You take note of it, and then quietly sneak back up the stairs to rejoin the others. There doesn't appear to have been any response from any of the denizens of the hideout.
Scupper will get back to the group and is obviously upset and tries to whisper as best he can through his frustration.
"Feckin magicians! Why have a feckin' rat that isn't a rat? Oi! Someone tell me why you'd want a rat that isn't a rat? Is that creature still in me head? Did i see a rat or does he want me to see a rat? Cause I'll make sure he regrets ever feckin' with my brain pan as I'm sipping ale out o' what's left o' his. Feck! Left me dagger! Ok lads...down and to the right...wizards lib'ary. Door exits east. Probably right to 'im. But the rat..."
Scupper, as you finish retelling all this to the group, there is a loud crash from the west as a door has been flung open, and you hear the sound of men, probably in armour, moving towards you.
Incantis, you stepped back to I7 as Scupper came back from his scouting, so he is in H6, and you and Dekhan are sort of in a huddle listening to him, with Strix nearby and the others a bit further back.
We'll get started once I have rolls for Dekhan and Dario.
New map, as requested. :) Just waiting for Dario to roll initiative and confirm he's happy with where I've placed him. Although Scupper has seen into the room to the north of the bottom of the stairs, it's no longer visible. He can just about see one figure that has emerged at the foot of the stairs, but can't see much detail, though you do notice the familiar red cloak.
Zoria, you can assume that from what Scupper has already said, plus the banging of the door and the sound of movement from below, it's enough to alert you that there is potentially a hostile person or force headed your way, yes.
If you would like to move to get a better view of the enemies, let me know the grid reference. Searching probably won't reveal something that is obscured by a rock wall, though.
Hmmmm. It doesn't seem like Zoria would be able to do anything this turn other than chill, as I don't see anything that would be extremely effective. I will stay put and use the dodge action for my turn. This hideout is extremely crammed lol
Actually, if Scupper is wanting to run and hide to use stealth in order to get his sneak attack, Zoria can use guidance on him. If he wants Zoria to do that then she will do that, otherwise, Zoria will take the dodge action.
Incantis will stay put and ready a reaction to let loose an eldritch blast at the first enemy that walks into his line of sight (I assume that would be D/E5). If he can see anyone currently he will hex them, cursing their dexterity.

Everyone please roll initiative.

Could we get a fresh map of everything then?

I wish they would fix the mobile interface, but never mind. Dario, if you can re-roll soon, please do so. Otherwise, we'll go with 4
Round One - Initiative order
Group One: Dario, Scupper, Incantis, Zoria (in any order)
Group Two: Unknown enemy/enemies
Group Three: Varinth, Strix, Dekhan
Group One is up. You all heard the door slam open, but only Scupper can see a Redbrand at this moment, they have half cover from the angle.
So I assume the very first thing that is done is Scupper alerts us to the incoming battle?
If Scupper used the search action would we be able to find how many enemies there are? Or if he just moved within view of them, then move out?
