Strix moves south, sprinkling caltrops on E13 and then taking a running jump to J13 (that assumes diagonal movement and diagonal sprinkling from f12! 12ft jump with 10ft approach)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
?
I thought that jumping is use of movement? I'm spending my 40ft, and the crevasse on the map is slightly under 7ft at that point so well within capability, and the landing zone wasn't difficult terrain when we were on the other side.
Vaz, you make it to F13 and attempt to see down the stairs. Unfortunately, you fail to see anything at all, including stray caltrop of Strix's that has fallen close to where you stand. May a DEX saving throw.
In combat, I will typically ask for an athletics check when jumping, but usually the worst that can happen is I'll have you land prone if you roll a natural one.
If you edit the post to add back in the close square bracket, the red banner should disappear and the correct roll reappear.
Can I ask if the same Athletics check can be expected if for example I use Step of the Wind? Don't want to be a pain about it but given the asynchronous nature of the game and the mobility-focused nature of my class I would like to avoid submitting turns that I thought left nothing to chance, or submitting a move and then going to sleep without rolling and thereby holding up the game.

Scupper holds his action to see if Red 4 or 5 gets to within 5 feet of Dekhan or another crewmate. If so, he can sneak attack with his bow. He readies his shot.
C'mon ye feck. Don't you be the one Redbrand with brains.
The potential sneak attack Attack: 18 Damage: 6 + 3
Incantis holds position and blast Redbrand 3; the force bashes him against the wall, but he manages to stand upright, just about. He's also clearly drunk, but he's now getting the message that he's in trouble.
Incantis will run back and north, pausing in J6 to let loose his eldritch blast without hexing. He will continue moving to J4 and take cover behind the wall.

Scupper holds an attack.
Dario and Zoria are up.
I almost wrote Daria and Zorro.)
Maybe Zoria is actually a male in disguise named Zorro!!!!! You've spoiled my backstory LOL
If Zoria moves to G6 to attack the redbrand, would that trigger Scupper's sneak attack? Would he have disadvantage because she's in the way? Otherwise, I see Zoria having to hold her turn again, which if that's the way the cookie crumbles, then I'm cool with it! That's what I get for not choosing a ranged cantrip lol

Strix, you manage to sprinkle the caltops fine. Make an athletics check to clear the crevasse.

Seeing the bottleneck starting to form, Vaz will move to F12 and peer down the steps to the west looking to see if anyone is coming to flank them.

Oh dear god
Sorry I didn't realize I had changed anything. I rolled a 1. Minus one made 0. Apparently I have been rendered blind by my own lack of wisdom.
You are never allowed up the crows nest haha!
Strix, you make the jump with no problem.

Group One is up, in any order.

Vaz, you take 1 HP piercing damage from the caltrop. You do have some move left if you wish to end your turn somewhere else.
Varinth will stumble back to F11 cursing his idiocy and try and remove one of the caltrops from his threadbare boots.
"Not for you, friend Vaz! Put back!" Strix scolds

No, I think jumping is special because of the opportunity for hilarious pratfalls it offers. :)
Case in point.
Varinth tosses the offending caltrop back toward the doorway. Sorry!
So I haven't changed my mind much since I queued up this turn, is ok is I use the same attack roll minus using hex? (-2 damage)
