You begin to set up camp. Dekhan, Oggor comes over to you, looking confused as he notes your preparations for rest. We're... going on ahead, Chief? he asks (in orc). Where to? The lads will raid and bring you the spoils, and happily, but... they want to fight at your side. It's... important.
Oggor, That was a test of your mettle. You were ready to fight for me immediately, that is good. But we go to fight undead. We will all spend the night here. They’ll be weaker in the daylight. This is why I lead. No raiding until after we take the undead, we will save our strength. Tell the lads not to worry, there will be no shortage of fighting.
Zoria, you have a basic knowledge of orcs and you know how they behave, at least the ones who are raised fully in orcish culture. They are violent, brutal, and what most people would call evil. There's something... odd... about the way these orcs seem to have accepted Dekhan so quickly as their Chief. Not necessarily deceptive, but definitely... odd.
Demetrio, Oggor nods. Yes chief. He goes and relays the order to the other orcs. They accept it without complaint, which strikes you as unusual; you might expect them to demand the chance to fight immediately, or question your courage, and then you would need to smack a few of them around to impose order. That's just how orc society works. These orcs are a bit too well behaved.
Zoria leans over to Vaz. "Something is off-putting about these orcs. I've not too much experience with these folks, but these are nothing like those I hear in the tales. Is there any chance there's some-" she wiggles her fingers "funny business going on here?"

To Zoria One thing I've learnt from travelin' about for the last year, the world ain't like what ya hear in the tale of bards... it's altogether stranger. But I shall think on it.
This said, while Vaz sits back on his watch, he will put his mind to these gentler orcs.
Not getting much from his casual perusal of the orcs actions, Vaz will fetch his small keg from the wary Miss Soodi and hand it to the second in command orc.
May your battles be mighty and your women be feisty.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Scupper will see whether he can remember coming across orcs in his days of piracy that were either not evil or simply beaten into submission. Then comparing it to these, who he thinks may have just had the fight beat out of them by this angelic knight taking down their chief...

I don't understand why it thinks the dice were manipulated but I just added the reroll and the reroll keeps changing (13, 7, 18, etc)...Ok it's happening on the Insight as well...
History was 13 and Insight was just over 10 but I don't remember...formatting code sucks
Incantis, you take first watch, and it passes quietly. The stars are hidden from you, the clouds are covering the sky, and drizzle comes and goes. It's not an unpleasant evening, though colder than most tastes.
Varinth, you also take first watch. An orc snorts at your question. We follow Chief. You don't like orders, you talk to Chief. Maybe we watch him crush you like ant. He laughs, and walks off. You think on what you know about orcs, which isn't much. Almost nothing at all, to be honest. It's almost like you deliberately avoided learning their history and culture. You do notice that many of them bear scars across their body, as you saw on Kottok.
Dekhan, you take second watch, and Oggor joins you as instructed. Our tribe is the Many Arrows. King Obould is far from here, but we raid and scout. Brughor liked to raid more than scout. He didn't like the new ways. But we make ready. And we follow Chief Dekhan, like in the songs. He grins openly at you.
Dekhan nods. King Obould, tell me of him, is he a strong leader? What are the “new ways”? Did King Obould institute them? Do all tribes serve Obould? What are you scouting for, and what are you making ready for? What songs do you mean?
(Assuming that you stagger out the questions over the course of your watch)
King Obould is strong. He doesn't always fight. He made a kingdom. Oggor points north east. Kingdom of Many Arrows. Sometimes fight neighbours, sometimes not. Mostly not. We trade, and fight as mercenaries. These are the new ways. A hundred years now. Not peace, but not always war. Brughor hated the new ways. Young orcs not sure. Follow Chief, but also follow King. But Chief is here and King is not. And Chief has many small knives to make young orcs strong. Tell them to eat humans and elves. Follow old ways.
No, only Many Arrows follow Obould. Obould the Seventeenth. I never met him.
Don't know what we're scouting for. Brughor never said. Never know, now. Unless you call shaman to speak to his spirit.
The song? The song of the Ravagers. Orc band, a hundred years ago. A human killed the Chief, and became Chief. Took them on 'adventures'. They saved towns and rescued people and folk called them 'heroes'. Famous comic song for bards. Are we the new Ravagers, Chief? Oggor grins at you, possibly serious and possibly not.
You feel that you have seen 'Many Arrows' on a map; roll a History check to see if you know more.

OOC: Should we do an insight check to test their loyalty? If so, maybe they can all keep watch? Zoria has +3 insight.

How far away is this undead lot? If it's a day away and we arrive at night, I'm laughing you lot all the way back to Neverwinter fer yer plans.
Scupper, as you passed not far from Old Owl Well on the way here, you would know that it's about half a day's walk away. Maybe a little less.

Dekhan will go to Oggor. Oggor, I would have you stand watch with me. I want to learn about your clan.
