Waterdeep: Camel Heist (2020)

Varinth, Lok observes the odd magical human approaching him.  He holds the finger out to you.  You want?  He points at Klarg.   Has more.  He thinks for a moment.  No.  No secret.  He looks over at Ika for confirmation, and she nods agreement.  Bad place.  Stupid Klarg.  Ko has now joined from the other room, and is cutting himself a toe.  Opo has moved outside the cave and is sitting, stroking Wolfie and engaged in a debate with Vojj about something in the goblin language.

Varinth, you see your empty waterskin, still empty, lying tossed on the floor near the crates at the back of the room.  Your jerkin is nearby, but has been ripped and chewed by Ripper, who appears to have earned his name well.  It's still wearable, but would look, and probably smell, very odd.  Near the crates, you find two sacks full of grain, and one smaller one filled with raisins.  There's one small keg of goblin beer standing on the west side of the room; it would hold 12 cups of alcohol.

Strix my friend, of course. Nothing like a good braining to get the juices flowing, though, eh? How about you, Asher? That was a mighty blow you shook off!

Strix goes to take his caltrops but can't on account of his being mostly dead

Asher walks over to Strix lays his hands on his chest and closes his eyes, which even through the lids begin to glow. He heals him for 2pts if more people need healing, or the full 5pts if everybody’s solid.

OCC: Asher can do a medicine check to stabilize, but he's got +0 medicine, so if we only get one check I don't want to waste it.

Sildar comes over and seems to recognise the two small bottles of liquid.  Healing, I reckon.  Here, give me a taste; he opens one bottle and lets a tiny drop fall onto his finger before swallowing it.  Yep, I've had a few of these in my time.  He seals the bottle up again, and hands the Potion of Healing back to you.

Scupper, Ika, Lok and Ko all pause what they were doing and stare at you, and then as one they burst into laughter.  Farming!?  Ha!  After a while, they get themselves under control.  Fine joke, jolly halfling!, says Lok.  Ika grins.  We no farm.  We no raid. We go to city.  Never - Winter.  Her grin grows bigger.  Good living for goblin.  Big rats.  Small rats.  Live under ground.  Klarg say no, because stupid.  We go to city.  Many coins.  Many rats.  The other goblins nod in agreement at this obvious wisdom, and Ika moves towards the exit from the cave, waving at the others to join her.

Strix sighs. He hates to see Ika go. But hot damn he loves to watch her leave. 

(Vaz managed to stabilise Strix earlier, and with Dekhan's Lay on Hands, Strix is now conscious at very low HP.  He can handle caltrops, but should do so very carefully.)

Sildar answers:  Yes, Gundren's supplies are to be delivered to Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin.  I believe you were supposed to have a letter to that effect?  In addition to the payment that you were promised; I should say, that some of you were promised - he glances curiously at Dekhan and Incantis - well, I would be happy to pay you ten gold pieces each for guiding me to Phandalin this day.  I'm not as young as I used to be, and I don't fancy travelling these roads by myself.  I know you want to search for Gundren, and I feel the same way, but I need some rest, and I dare say you do to.

Asher gives an odd stare toward Incantis. 

Upon seeing Strix awake Varinth gives him a gentle hug Good to see you back with us

Varinth leaves his jerkin but picks up his wineskin and the keg of beer. He takes a long quaff. As he contemplates whether it's possible to get the beer into the wineskin (Intelligence Check: 20 ) he turns to the milling party, Scupper half way out the door;

Are we resting here or by the hidden cart?

Varinth, you reckon you could get six cups' worth of goblin beer into your waterskin.

 Varinth puts half the beer in the wineskin, which he slings over his back. He takes the small keg of goblin beer under one arm and one sack of grain on his other shoulder.

Go or stay Sirs?

Strix shuffles awkwardly after the hug. 

"No sense rest here. Spider or king gobbles come back. Should make for cart. Catch breath. Then push through night. "

If there is the means, Strix will make a rudimentary introductory letter for the Goblins to Beartrap, who can help them get settled in exchange for eyes and the occasional hands in the sewer. Not many willing to visit there willingly, let alone live and thrive. 

DEKHAN will Cora’s to Asher and give him the remainder of his LOH pool  If I may? Dek lays his hands on Asher’s shoulders and channels his inner light healing him for 3pts
