After one or two of you came down for breakfast and then took your food up to Dekhan's room, Trilena decided it would be simpler just to serve everyone their breakfast in Dekhan's room too. You've all sat around on the beds, the two small chairs or the floor, eating a light breakfast of bread and cheese, while discussing your plans.
Varinth, as you come down the stairs into the inn's common room, you hear the innkeepers' young son Pip talking excitedly about the strange horse on the Town Green, but Tolben shoos him outside as he sees you approach, and welcomes you. Good day, my friend. Glad to see you looking fresh in the morning; a night in our beds did you good, I see. I trust the breakfast was to your liking? Is there anything I can do for you today?
No damage was done to the inn, and Tolben has been paid for the alcohol consumed the previous night as well as for last night's bed and board, and enough for two more nights as well.
Thankyou Tolbin, it was a most comfortable bed, much more comfortable than Miss Soodi (but don't tel her that)! Speaking of which, my cantankerous camel is hanging out on the town green, is there anybody I should ask or advise? I don't want to get in trouble, and more importantly I don't want someone trying to capture her and get, well, hurt.
"I have no problem whatsoever with killing the lot of them...and of course claiming their loot... though the town might feel the brigands ill gotten gains are in fact the town's and therefore not ours. I only mention through experience of havin' liberated many an ill gotten gain. I'd hate to live through something and have to fight again to keep what we win.
It doesn't seem altogether wrong that this could be connected to the Black Spider...a mine needs workers - be they contracted or shanghaied. A mine needs security and to keep prying townsfolk from exercising any undo interest.
Either way...to find ourselves a leader of the brigands, we should blackjack a lowly thug with which to interrogate. Vaz, yer in charge of killin' em with drink after. I'm happy to see to the question and pain portion o' the affair."
We've not forgotten you Squiggs nor shall we forget Asher. As a character, i feel bad for him and wish him high adventure.
Good to hear Felix!! And I think it made for a good story arc, as accidental as it was 😂
I'm sure we'll see Asher in the future. For now, I'm excited for what's to come!
Dario wipes breakfast crumbs from his face as he listens to Dekhan's and Scupper's plan. "Alright, so how should we proceed? Go to the priestess first, talk to Thornton, or try to grab one of these Redbrands? Maybe we should first split up and question both the priestess and Thornton and then, with enough information about the doings and goings on of these Redbrands folk, we set up an ambush. Give us a better opportunity to grab one of them."
"I would be apt to speak with this priestess, I'd think,"Incantis speaks up. "I always found myself able to speak the same language so-to-speak of zealots."

"Skreeeeee..... If Redbrands fake law, mebbe give trouble - they 'uphold', we get man on inside?" While he doesn't outright say that Varinth (with his natural aptitude for creating trouble) looks just able bodied enough to be worth abducting while not able bodied enough to put up much of a fight, his eyes flicker in the sorcerer's direction, betraying him.

Tolben thinks a moment. Well, I don't think you need to ask or advise anyone about your fine camel; Miner Corman's son Pitt thought she'd make a fine ride, and got clocked good and proper in the nether regions. Everyone's keeping a respectful distance since then. And no trouble to you or to Miss Soodi - Pitt's a handful and deserves everything he gets, and everyone'll say the same.
"I tink I'd like to go with whomsoever decides to talk to this Halia Thorton. I'm more'n a bit curious what a mining exchange does in this town. Is there some other mine besides the Lost one? Have these Redbrands or any other new faces bought mining supplies? Maybe she's heard o' this Black Spider."

I’ll go with you, Scup. I think we make a pretty good “stick and carrot” combination as for as convincing people goes...
Dario nods in agreement with Dekhan and Scupper. "That sounds like a plan, Dekhan. You and Scupper and maybe Strix shall go with each other. Varinth, maybe you can accompany Incantis and I to talk to the priestess. We can plan to meet back here in the afternoon with whatever information we have gathered. Thought, gentlemen?"

"think mebbe it kill agree wi' Strix." strix grumbles, as his own plan is suggested back to him. A little chanting alleviates the encroaching mood though.
Mon, Mon!he barks at the other two impatiently, making for the door.
Varinth agrees with Dario summation and totally misses Strix's none too subtle suggestion of using him as a Trojan bomb (although he probably would have been quite flattered). When they arrive at the temple Varinth will let the adults do the talking You're an adult Idiot
As an aside, I've never played a sorcerer before, will I need to train with my master to acquire my new spell or does it just come to me?
Dekhan puts on a a menacing face. Clearly, I'm the stick. I'll give em Mad Dog Dek. ow ow owooooooo! So we'll meet back here and then decide whether to capture one of them or get one of ourselves captured?
The party splits into two groups and gets directions from Tolben, who can provide them easily as neither location is far. It’s another warm, fine day, though cooler in the hills than down near the coast.
Scupper, Strix and Dekhan head towards the Miner’s exchange, on the road headed south. Strix, as the trio heads down the road, you notice a shop to your right that bears the same lion-on-a-shield symbol from the goods you all found at the goblins’ cave; Vaz still has a sack of grain bearing the symbol, and you remember him talking to Elmer Barthen at Barthen’s provisions yesterday.
In the meantime, Dario, Incantis and Vaz head to the temple, which turns out to be just across the street from the inn and next to the Town Green. Soodi is currently on the far western side of the green, having apparently found something interesting in what appears to be a small orchard.
After Varinth finishes his breakfast he will check with the Inn Keepers if any damage was done and if any monies are owed.
I'm going to check on Soodi and then I'll meet you guys at the Temple, okay?

Dekhan nods at Strix I’ll do my best to keep my head straight, Strix, of that you have my word. It will be the easier with your help.
I think you have the right of it, Scupper. Your plan is sound. Let’s take one of these Redbrands and get to the heart of the matter.
but that’s not to say we shouldn’t talk to the priestess as well.
and Halia Thornton at the miner’s exchange may be a good source as well...
Was this an owl pun lol
