OOC: I'll try and make it fair for everyone. There's not much point in leaving Beetle standing infront of Zyltris there if he has enough to move back a step (With the difficult terrain halfing the speed he didn't have enough to get past....
(actually just thinking he might have opened himself up to an opportunity attack, but then as B2 was still suffering from the minor illusion he wouldn't have had the chance to attack anyway. I'll have to look this up if this will be the case for next time, although an opportunity attack is for any time a character leaves anothers reach.)
Haha don't worry about it Almarath, if anything we're all learning from each other. That's what this game is for. Nobody is going to get it right all of the time, there's alot to take in and alot of these rules have only popped up once or twice so far!
OOC: yeah I'm learning a ton from this game...before this all I really knew was 2e rules cause that was all I played up to about a year ago...Now I'm slowly becoming an expert at 5e.
[OOC: So Zyltris would provoke an Attack of Opportunity if he moved away? Now would be the time to do it though, since the Bugbear would have Disadvantage on the AoO.
Beetle, if you move to the cave also, you could use your Reaction to set a trigger to use your attack roll to hit the Bugbear when it charges after you. If Beetle and Zyltris bith move back to the 5ft squares around the corners, more of you could attack it at once. Also, I assume Syna would have taken a step back to cover on his turn, once he realized Javelins were flying. Serak would have also. lol
OOC: I thought about moving back to the cave but we have injured them quite a bit already and I was afraid they might not chase and instead run to get help
OOC: hoping by holding till Zyl goes that he kills B2 and I can move all way to back way between B1&B3 then I am out of the way and can hopefully draw the attention of both
OOC: No room between them. They occupy both their spaces. If B2 dies, best you could do would be to engage B3 and B1 from the front. That would be good, because B1 would provoke an AoO if he fled.
But to "delay" your action, you use your Reaction to set a specific trigger. As far as I know, it can't involve movement, but I could be wrong on that.
OOC: I'm only delaying until Zyl goes since i have top initiative and he is 2nd I figure I don't even need to set a reaction cause I would go 2nd and he would be 1st then.
OOC: That is his it worked in the past. Now you must use Reaction and it can only be Weapon Attacks, unless you have Feats that allow magic AoO. Best you can do is Reaction: Trigger - If Bugbear charges me, I attack it.
If you just stand there, he could just throw a Javalin, denying you reaction. Best bet is for Beetle to flee around the corner and set the reaction I states. Zyltris attacks and then flee around the corner also. I assume Syna, Brots and Serak would have used their movement last turn to take cover from Javelins, now that we know they have them.

Ok, so scratch my last attack post since it isn’t allowed in this version, Beetle will move back up the stairs and take his original position against the wall north side of the stairs and ready an attack if the bugbears chase.
OOC: I just hope they chase now in their wounded state and not go for help cause no way we can catch B1 now
OOC: A 'ready' action uses up your action to react to a specific trigger (PHB 193). It can involve movement but I'm assuming that you would need to have some distance left to travel to do this. Looks like you have to specify a condition to which you react to as well - ie 'If bugbear 2 approaches me, i will move 5ft to the south' etc. But I think its an actual action rather than a reaction
OOC: Basically, delaying actions was overpowered and easily abused with magic spells with duration and stuff, so they came up with this Reaction Trigger scheme. I actually kind of like it. I assume Brownbeard would let you use your same attack roll you already rolled, if one of the Bugbears follows you.

Yeah, I read some on the net, you would take the ready action and then basically you set what your reaction is to what ever condition you think will happen, in this case I move back to cover of the wall and if the bugbear chases I attack it with my reaction, if what you are preparing for that round doesn’t happen you just miss out that round. This is really only a problem here cause it is a tight space if this works out you can use my initial roll already made or roll a new one I’m fine either way, if both don’t chase no point in green-flame blade either cause no 2nd target to hit
ROUND 4
Beetle, seeing Zyltris in front of him will hold his action until Zyl goes then...
If B2 is still standing Beetle attacks it with Green-Flame Blade with the 3 splash damage going to B3.
If B2 is dead, Beetle will charge to back wall in between B1+B3 then strike B3 with same attack and the 3 splash damage going to B1
Attack: 9 Damage: 6

[OOC: That can work too. Syna and I can keep giving them Disadvantage. It leaves Zyltris and Brots shooting with cover penalties, however.
