After a minute, Zane calls into being a dome around the party, though most sense nothing more than a sudden warming of temperature as the walls from inside are translucent. Ten feet high and twenty feet wide, the dome completely fills the inside of the tunnel and even extends through the stone walls that form its side.
OOC: What is the plan? Short or Long rest? Setting any watches?
OOC > Yes, Killian is willing to take a long rest. Though that will likely eliminate our monocles. She will definitely take a watch, or even two (if she can still rest). All she has used is some of her Lay on Hands pool, but every bit helps.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
I'm at full health and haven't even raged. I'll spend a while using a Dagger and Greataxe trying to pry loose a brick or a couple. I'll take first watch while I'm doing this.
Hox will rest, he took a quite a bit of damage but got healed for most of it. Though it'll be good to sleep off the rest. Then I'll head off to help Gruun.
Gruun takes the first watch as the others take their rest. He has very little success chiseling away at the stone with his weapons, but after nearly an hour of working at it, his dagger clips a switch hidden along the wall. The newly built stone shifts along a track to rest within the side wall of the tunnel, opening a way through.
The party wakes to the sound of the rumbling stone.
Startled by the noise, she is up with her sword out before she manages to figure out what has happened. In the ensuing discussion, she contributes, "Should we pass through it and complete our resting on the other side? That would seem wiser than staying here however impervious we might be, and letting them know where to find us."

Zane... is sleepy and agrees to most everything. He walks out of the bubble dragging his sleeping bag, then groggily starts casting it again on the other side. This time it takes a lot longer for him to finish it (ritual casting), but up it goes and fall asleep he does once again.
(Sorry been looking for an update notice and I must have already triggered it!)
Gruun quietly moves to each of the party members and prods them slowly awake to not startle them, as much as getting woken by a large bugbear in a sewer allows.
"Something follows, do you want to continue or see if it knows this door?"
Rising (as she'd not had but a few minutes to begin resting), Killian dons her shield and draws her sword, quietly. "This dome is said to protect us, and Zane has declared he needs rest to be of much use. Perhaps we stand our ground."

From inside of the hut, you watch as a crowd of death slaadi approach the hut and and stare. One of them reaches a claw out and scrapes it against the wall of the hut.
"Stone revealing more stone?"
"It does not feel of stone."
"Is it magic?"
"Go and fetch a lord with antimagic and we will find out."
"We will return shortly. It loves us."
A half dozen of the slaadi stay behind in the tunnel, waiting on the side of the hut from where you came, while the others leave.
"Well, that does not bode well. Looks like a rest is not our fate. Cat man, we must find another place to stay." She will prepare to move out, down the hallway.

Zane is fully alert now and places a finger on his lips to sign for silence. He would like to take a look around, through the dome, to see if there is a way to make the stone wall slide back into place from this side. (OOC: I'm imagining the dome ending at/near where the wall was.. or would it intersect with the dome if it were to close?) If there is such a switch, he will cast Invisibility on one of the others for them to activate it without being seen. And if all of that succeeds then get the hell out of there with everyone else.
OOC > I could use some clarity from the DM here. We opened the secret door/wall, went through, and cast the spell again. I had assumed we then closed the door (why bother going through it then?), and also assumed the Slaadi have opened the door to find our magic forcefield. How much of this is true?

OOC: To be honest, I assumed we closed it as well behind us. Would be something the characters surely would have done even if the players didn't explicitly state this intent.
Killian
She looks about the weird shimmery dome. "Will this place hide us from them, if they come down this hallway looking for stragglers?"

Zane says, "Not sure, but they won't be able to pass through it.. and it will look like the wall of the tunnel. Worth a shot it seems."

OOC: Zane is definitely voting for long rest. The dome lasts for 8 hours and he's almost completely out of spell slots.

Zane groggily replaces the magical hut further into the tunnel.
However, only a few minutes into the resumed rest, Gruun hears deep voices in conversation, approaching from the direction of the intersection.
"...no other way they could have run."
"Unless those bones were theirs..."
"No, too far gone. Their escape must be this way..."
"It loves us."

OOC: Yes, that's all correct, sorry for the confusion. The slaadi found their way through the same secret entrance, which alerted Gruun.

OOC: Do we know even about Death Slaadi, or can measure them up enough, to know if we have a chance against a few of them?
