Ismark, are there horses to be found anywhere? We might make better time with mounts.
Also, during their coming travels, Føpé will fill the party in on the details of his arrival, and inquire after their's, paying keen interest to what Madam Eva said regarding how to break the curse.
It seems we need to get going from this place. If the girl gives in to Strahd's influence because we were to cowardly to leave immediately, it would weigh heavily upon my head. I think we keep travelling in the dark today far enough that we are comfortable to be able to complete the trip tomorrow. If we don't have time to find good shelter then it wouldn't seem to matter if we are camped or still travelling on the road.
There are no beasts of burden to be had, unfortunately, he says. His sister picks up the dialogue: I am quite able to move "at speed," sir dwarf, with my long legs, and with a light load.
HEY TEAM!!!! I'm just hopping back off from a busy hiatus, but if you'll have me, I'm back in action! I'm going back to read all the material I missed, but will not proceed without the blessing of the group. My sincere apologies for lack of participation -- slammed with work and life, but now back in a good place.
Ireena has outfitted herself with an impressive breastplate and a rapier at her side, along with her pack. Ismark is loaded with all of his equipment.
The six of you make your way north, out of the mansion, and you realize you smell smoke as you approach the town square. Three strangers, Barovian commoners, are running up from the east. Burgomaster, burgomaster! They shout, at Ismark. He pauses, and looks confused. Then he realizes they are talking to him.
Ismark rushes over to meet with them. They are talking about a home on fire. He looks at them, then he looks at his sister. You see his face take on a look of grim resolve. He comes rushing over to you: Here, he says, unslinging a bag from his belt. Please guide my sister to safety. This is all the gold I have for the journey, and it is yours to keep, if you take her somewhere safe. But with our father gone, for now I cannot leave. Someone has to be Burgomaster, and for the moment that's me. Ireena! Send word when you are safe. I will come to you, soon.Do not trust the Vistani to be your messengers, I will come look for you if I do not hear soon. Then, back to you: Vallaki, Kresk. Somewhere safe. Please. He takes the map out of his own pack and offers it to you, along with the bag of gold. You would estimate, correctly, that the bag contains 50 gold pieces. A tidy sum.
“Well that is certainly an unfortunate start to our journey. We haven’t left and already down a man. Ireena, if we are set upon by forces of evil, I suggest that you stick close to Puddin. The other two are likely to be in the thick of battle, and I am an old man who will not be able to protect you in a fray. I pray it doesn’t come to that, but from what we have seen of this cursed land, you can’t walk a hundred paces without some foul beast attempting to turn you into worm food.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. How thoughtless of me. Not the time for such terminology.”
”Kif, grab the gold and map. We will likely need both. Puddin, I hope you brought some healing spells, I’m sure we will need them. Fope, wake up. You’ve been awfully quiet over there, just creeping around giving people the stink eye. And Ismark, good luck. I fear you will need it.”
Ismark, keep your gold. Your town needs it more than we do. Your gratitude will suffice. Føpé gestures with hands that he will not accept it. If this man is to play a key roll in our breaking the curse, then we'll need his help a great deal more than his money.
Also, money is just too confusing. I'd sooner not be responsible for a quarter of it. And what would my 20 gold buy me anyways?
At Fope’s words Barnaby hustles over to take the bag and the map from Ismark.
“Thank you Sir Burgomaster. I trust this will not leave you destitute. We will surely have need of supplies and no foreseeable income with which to procure them. Don’t worry, I will make sure Fope gets none of it so that he feels no guilt at accepting your generosity.”

Let's go.
I’m ready to move you guys forward. For the moment, I’m waiting to see if you have a level 3 cleric to join you.

Pending Ismark's response on Føpé's question Kif is all for hitting the road as soon as we can and pushing past dusk if necessary.
I will also ask Ismark, is Ireena able to travel at speed
Ismark and Ireena have finished packing.

My Lady, utmost respect. Let us hit the road then as the commoners would say. Kif winks an eye and shoulders his pack, ready to take up lead position
I've created a level 3 Puddin. I'll just move the party along tomorrow.

You’re back! Excellent. Check your email. ;) Catch up and post something.
Thank you, Ben -- character sheet looks fine -- thank you for doing that!
Well you heard the woman, gentlemen! Let's get moving! She smiles admiringly at Ireena as she stands behind Kif.
Blue: Welcome back Puddin. :)
Ok. Please make sure I have the right spells selected for you. I’ll move you guys on later.
Welcome back, Puddin' !! Get caught up and we can move forward
All caught up! :)

Bold: Go take care of your people. We’ll work on keeping your sister safe
to the others bold: let’s keep moving, night will be upon us sooner than we will like. On to Vallaki
