Chubs sees Misalyk uttering words of magic and waits patiently for him to finish. He then looks at Barnaby. Sorry friend, but you said this is what I should do, and I believe it will be worthwhile. Chubs closes his eyes and calmly places his index finger along the side of his nose. All at once the sounds of battle that we’re just getting started in the room are gone replaced by a pure silence. Barnaby turns to chubs and his mouth and arms begin moving violently as he tries to scream at chubs, but no sound escapes his lips. He stops, sighs deeply and attempts to slide by chubs to the space at the stairs incurring an stack of opportunity. Acrobatics: 12
Dissonant whispers draws a shriek of rage and confusion from the southern foe, moments before silence takes the room. Kif, meanwhile, digs his axe into the northern witch, with a blow that he knows would have killed a lesser foe. It just makes her angry, though, and there is rage in her eyes.
The hags lash out with their long, foul claws, as Barnaby tumbles backward and dives down the steps. They get a 14 and a 16 to hit, with a 15 and an 11 for damage, if they hit.
Barnaby has gotten away, for the moment. Rather than press the attack, they both turn their attention to Kif. The northern one misses, but the southern one gets that nasty claw right inside the visor, with a crit! Kif takes 25 points of damage, from the slash across his face!!!
The combat is quite eerie, in the silence. Blood splashes onto the floor, and no sound can be heard.
Kif, I only saw one attack in there. It was a crit, but only the one. Did I miss something?
With mage armor up, the first strike is deflected by the magical field around Barnaby. He casts shield to avoid the second attack as well, but no sound escapes his lips under the magical silence and the claws open a gash in his back.
Ok. Take inspiration for burning a spell slot for the story’s sake. If you didn’t have it already.
It was not really my intent to burn a spell slot. It was just flavor. I figured if he couldn't get any sound out then the slot wouldn't be used. I've already got inspiration.
Come on you guys, it hasn’t been that long since we played with a bard. Kif has bardic inspiration and can add 1d6 to any one d20 roll (make the decision before rolling). I think it lasts up to an hour or it goes away if unused.
As a bonus action, a creature (other than yourself) within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome

So do I get an extra attack, anyway...Kif swipes at nearest witch after a feinting attack 27
if that hits 10 damage
in addition to 10 points from the crit we should add 3 superiority die to the damage as well

Everybody is up. Some of you more than others.

Using portent, the next attack roll against Kif will be an 8.
Can you cast Shield in silence?
No. He tried and failed. The second attack landed.

I wasn't sure I got another attack, which is why I asked.
If there is an extra attack I missed please fit this in where you will 25 attack for 11 damage
otherwise my attack this round is 8 attack for 13 damage
and I will second wind as a bonus action, restoring 5 hit points
Ok. Fighters normally get their second attack at Level 5, and I didn't know if I was missing something.
Kif tastes his own blood as he takes a quick slash at the face of his foe. She is quick, though, and effortlessly ducks under his swinging blade.
I must be missing something, my sheet is level 4, when did we level up? I tried searching here but can't find anything, but I suck at this game
You didn't level up! That's why no second attack. We suck equally. :)
so what did Misalyk do to me, some sort of inspiration so is it Bardic Inspiration, do I get to add a die to a roll?
It was not really my intent to burn a spell slot. It was just flavor. I figured if he couldn't get any sound out then the slot wouldn't be used. I've already got inspiration.
Ok. Keep your stupid spell slot then. Misalyk, please tell Kif what prize he won. :)

Aha. Right! When you're old like I am, you'll forget stuff, too.
It's still everybody's turn, except for Kif (and if you want to use Bardic Inspiration on your 13, go ahead).
