I figured, having let you all watch the Mimic fail its Dex save, you might enjoy watching Ireena lean into the hall and shoot with her crossbow. And she hits! A natural 17, meaning I don't even have to look up her modifier! She does 2 damage!
The creature is still up. Puddin can do nothing. Fope can end it here, while Kif makes his first Death Save. What are you going to do, Fope?
The creature looks like it's not holding together very well. One good shot - not just a shot, but a good one - might be able to do it!
It looks like Kif is somewhat entangled. It looks like you would have to roll a strength-based check, possibly opposed by the creature. It looks like making that check would consume the action portion of your turn.
What would it take for Føpé to try to use his crook to brace the creatures mouth open? Perhaps some kind of dexterity based grapple since the strength of the thing is in the crook?
You tell me what you want to do for your action and I will tell you what to roll.
Are you currently holding your shepherd’s crook? You can drop your blade, draw the crook, and attempt to put it in the creature’s mouth. If you want. If that’s your plan for your turn, roll to hit with your dex bonus and proficiency. You will do no damage on a hit but you might accomplish some other goal.
Fope successfully jabs his crook into the Mimic's mouth.
The Mimic, enraged at the irritation, slaps at Fope with a pseudopod that extends out from somewhere near what looks like the doorknob. With only a 13, it misses!
Føpé will draw his crook and attempt to wedge the creature's mouth open. He will use his inspiration (I think he has one) 19
If I'm wrong about the inspiration, then it looks like it comes out to a 14.
You can always tell if you have inspiration by looking in the OP. The "OP," as I've explained before, is the "original post," or the top post of this whole thread. I am using it to track things that might be of continuing interest to you guys. You did, in fact, have one (everybody did), and now you've used it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Barnaby maintains focus on his flaming sphere doing 7 damage (halved on a successful DC 13 dex save). Meanwhile with the other half of his sizable brain he fires off a fire bolt. 6 to hit for 2 damage.

16 first save
One successful save. Good job!
Now we wait. :)
Puddin' couldn't even spare a bless for Fope?
Ok. Puddin will cast Bless on herself, Fope, and Barnaby.
How thoroughly is Kiff entangled? Føpé would like to pull him free and back, if it doesn't look too hard.

Fope is also blessed so he adds a 1d4 to any attack rolls

Should I have been doing that before now? I wasn't.

Barnaby, you're up.
