Well I've got a fine chain shirt already, so if someone else can use it they should. He should also take the lantern. I would hope Barnaby could study the cloak and, already having a way with fire, should probably have the flask of A-fire
Barnaby spends the short rest with the cloak and determines that it is a Cloak of Protection +1, giving +1 to AC and saving throws. It does not require attunement.
I am going to pencil in that Kif takes the cloak, because it is equipment for a low-ac tank, and that Fope gets the extra healing potion, because he is suffering at a HP deficit. And he didn't have that many to begin with.
You all have cleared the floor! Here's a map of your progress. I've erased some of the earlier dead bodies. And there's a second recess in the Durst room because of Reasons unrelated to your experience of this place. Enjoy!
Have we now, to our knowledge, explored the entire house? Or is there a way we have seen but not gone yet? Perhaps the area just to the north of the room we're in is unexplored for us?
The party put Rose and Thorn into their respective sarcophagi. I don't believe you've found the remains of the baby.
You brought the remains of Mr. Durst down to the basement, but they gently disintegrated once they were in the dungeon and there was nothing more you could do for him.
Well we did see an empty crypt a few rooms ago, even had her name on it, we could probably wrap her up and toss her in there. Then we could head down the stairs and see what's down there, maybe a man cave with a wet bar and some amenities
Kif packs the cloak into his pack until he can spend some time with it
Demon baby seems a fair guess, but I’m hoping that there’s a hot cup of tea waiting to warm our bones in this wet dreary basement. Ooh, perhaps I’ll add a shot of bourbon from the wet bar. It’ll taste worse but feel better.
You descend and the chanting grows noticeably louder, filling the large chamber at the bottom of the stairs. You can discern a dozen or so voices saying, over and over, “He is the Ancient. He is the Land.”
This is the "reliquary," which is to say, this room has alcoves all around in which the cult amassed relics for its rituals. These worthless items are stored in thirteen niches along the walls:
A small, mummified, yellow hand with sharp claws (a goblin’s hand) on a loop of rope
A knife carved from a human bone
A dagger with a rat’s skull set into the pommel
An 8-inch-diameter varnished orb made from a nothic’s eye
An aspergillum carved from bone
Ravens' talons sewn into a strap of stitched ghoul skin
A desiccated frog lashed to a stick
A bag full of bat guano
A hag’s severed finger
A 6-inch-tall wooden figurine of a mummy, its arms crossed over its chest
An iron pendant adorned with a devil’s face
The shrunken, shriveled head of a halfling
A small wooden coffer containing a dire wolf’s withered tongue
There are two tunnels to the south. The chanting comes from the eastern of those two, where the tunnel slopes down at a 20-degree angle into murky water and ends at a rusty portcullis.
Feel free to examine the worthless relics. Take as long as you like.
.... and if any of you turkeys is spending this short rest communing with the cloak, please say so.

Well this cloak just fits me so nicely...
That chain mail is too heavy for me to properly run away if the need arises. Thanks though.
Føpé will heal 1 HD. 10
Funny, this wound from that creature doesn't seem to be healing. Ouch! He says as he pokes and prods at the open wound.
You didn’t get a cloak from the walk in the banquet room? I thought you did. Fire protection, maybe. I’ll look it up.
Robe, but really it seems more of a front liner option. Was just trying to cause trouble.

That's right. You have not yet gone down the stairs that were across from the pit. You have otherwise explored the entire floor.
Pudin, Shar heals, but this wound won't, and it hurts. Have you heard of such things?
Puddin looks it over.
There is some magic to it, but I do not think so much that it will never heal. Maybe tomorrow morning, after a good rest.
Føpé feels a bit relieved, pokes it again, finds it still hurts, and suggests to the party we bury Mrs. Durst and then move on.
Did we bury the kids? Did we bury the hanged guy? I remember we did someone, but I don't remember who.
Perhaps preparing these souls to fly over the endless grasses will ease the curse on this house.

I'd put my money on demon baby.

The party will place Mrs. Durth's remains in her coffin, and the go downstairs looking for a bar, possibly with a demon baby bar tender.

Føpé will study the nothic's eye. How heavy is it? What is its texture like?
Is the dire wolf's withered tongue preserved as a dry meat? Has it been seasoned?
Is Revenge interested in anything?
Can we estimate how many voices we hear chanting? Can we guess at the gender, race, or any other features of the chanters? Perception: 10
