Two dark shapes pass across the road in front of you, pausing only briefly before continuing their path. They appear from the woods on your right, and almost immediately disappear in the woods on the left. It is possible that they are more large wolves, but you are not certain.
A moment passes.
You hear wolves howling nearby, and further away.

The wolves snarl one more time and turn and lope away, disappearing quickly into the forest.
The woods are quiet. Ireena brushes her sleeve across her brow, sweating despite the cool night air. She picks up the lantern without looking back, and heads off toward Vallaki. She might be stomping a bit.
The party walks about half a mile when something gnaws at the edges of Fope’s thoughts. Fope, make an intelligence check. Not a save, just a check with your INT bonus.
As I understand the situation, Barnaby has turned around to walk back. Ireena turns with him.
Kif is talking to Fope, as Fope ties a knot. Lucento is keeping an eye on the wolves.
