"I was wrong. I guess it is nothing to worry about. Barnaby what was that you were saying?" Misalyk ignores the child and goes back to listening to Barnaby
The party continues toward the child, who you can all identify as a human girl, maybe 10 years old. When you get within 50 feet, she pauses, and half-turns her face toward you. It is apparent now that she is a rotting corpse, and that she is dragging a longsword. She snarls.
I'm not saying they did this, perhaps this is a missing girl that some other foul agency has corrupted. There are plenty of foul agencies about this place
Barnaby and Chubs in unison while squinting and shielding their eyes from the bright noonday sun: Kid? What Kid?
Barnaby initiative: [rolll]1d20+2[/roll]
Chubs initiative: [rolll]1d20+4[/roll]
Edit: These rolls were broken when I first posted. I made the next post to reroll. Then I came back and edited this post just to make the dialogue bold, and when I saved that the rolls worked. I have added the extra 'l' to break them again. When they did work they were both better than the ones below.
The creature is 50' ahead of you on the Old Svalich Road. It has snarled at you, and looks a bit like a zombie, now that you're closer, though it also has a certain level of intent and will in its movements that lead you to believe that it is not, in fact, a zombie.
Barnaby reaches out as Kif rush's ahead, but he is a moment late...Slow down Kif. That thing looks sick. You'll catch your death. Barnaby rolls his eyes. He then jostles his shoulder nudging Tulip out of the hood of his cloak. Go friend. Tulip, with a few sharp beats of her wings, catches up with Kif delivering the spell Protection from evil/good to him (immunity to fear/charm/possession by all kinds of nasties - including undead - and they also have disadvantage on attacks against him.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Misalyk draws his weapon and moves to one side of the creature hoping to set up a flank, casting true strike as he moves. (edited because I didn't realize it was 50' away due to reading dumb)He slashes at the thing testing its defenses. 22 Attack 10 Damage
Ohhh, dice rolling, let's see if I remember how 12
Yep about what I remember
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Barnaby perception: 20
Chubs perception: 320
Edit: Doop dee doo....
Hah hah. Well that’s still one mystery box opened. We’ll wait for Misalyk.
Misalyk perception: 17
Misalyk frowns looking down the road. "Something is wrong about that kid. What is that metal object he has?"
Misalyk pulls out a coin and flips it 2. "The Count it is trouble, the castle it is nevermind."

You know boys, there was a line in the card reading about a missing child and the Visanti, do you suppose...?

Barnaby and Kif may go.
Kif is going to run up as far as he can (35') and ready an attack if anything (that thing) comes near

Apologies for the delay with the map, but I'll keep things moving with the theater of the mind.
The thing hisses and snarls again, and turns to face you. It raises its sword menacingly, perhaps also preparing to strike.
Everybody's up!

He slashes at the thing testing its defenses. 22 Attack 10 Damage(knowledge checks to identify this thing?)
OK, so Kif will move up and attack twice
first one Bonus feint attack 27 if that hits 8 plus 2 damage
second attack 9 if that hits 11
second attack would add 10 to damage for the crit
