Good news for you! You don’t roll to hit with a sacred flame. The target gets a dex save, which in this case it failed! You destroyed the monster with a burst of Shar’s energy.
There is one more, sleeping where it stands. You can take your time here.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

How about we leave it alone as it sleeps? I'm sure it will awake to the nightmare of its friends remains all over this place. This place creeps me out anyway.
You can also narrate how you would like to approach Sleepy Joe. The spell's duration is 1 minute, so I calculate you have 36 seconds left before he wakes up. Or, to put it another way, 4 rounds have passed since the spell was cast, so 6 rounds of Sleep remain.
As the three of you look and listen for more creatures, perceiving none, Puddin notices a difference in the sound of the wind blowing through the gallows. The creaking suddenly sounds heavier.
Looking up, she sees a small figure swinging from the noose. It's wrapped in loose-fitting cloth and swinging gently in the breeze. Kif, you also see a small figure dangling from the noose. Barnaby, you hear them both announce their surprise, but you don't see anything but the same frayed rope and empty noose that was dangling there before.
“What’s curious? What are you doing Puddin? We’ve got to get to town before more of those nefarious saplings show up.”
When and if someone tells him what they see, Barnaby will have a seat on the plank floor of the gallows and spend ten minutes casting detect magic as a ritual.
Kif watches as Puddin reaches up to the small figure. Before she can touch it, the rope twists a bit in the breeze and the stiff figure turns toward you three. Its face is exposed.
Puddin, you see an adult gnome. You recognize her with a shudder: It's you! Gray and dead, but you.
Kif, you see a human child. A boy, dead probably a few days already, with his tongue hanging out grotesquely.
Barnaby, you see Puddin staring up at an empty noose.
Puddin takes a step back, stunned, and looks back at her friends to see if they see what she sees. Kif is distracted for a moment by Puddin's obvious distress. When they both look up again at the gallows, they see what Barnaby sees: a rope swinging gently in the breeze, with an empty noose on the end.
Puddin stands frozen for a few moments and does not immediately hear Kif's remark. I saw nothing Kif...I think you inhaled too much pollen from our tree friends back there.I was just admiring the construction of these gallows -- pretty standard, I'd say, but always ready for a good hanging. Let's go, shall we?
She jumps off the gallows and speeds down the path toward Barovia.
I think I'll let that ride, under the circumstances, and press Barnaby to decide whether he's going to try to resume his ritual, or whether he's going after Puddin.

Is kif up? If so I’d like to start moving toward sleepy joe, using my action if necessary as movement.
You're out of combat.
Everyone freshen up your perception checks, while you figure out how to dispose of Sleepy Joe.
You can roll for me. It’s a +3. Thanks
Ok. You got a 7. For some reason, at least so far, I'm terrible at rolling for you.

Bold I don’t like the idea of this thing wandering around somewhere behind us
kif walks up to the critter and puts his ax through it
Ok. It's dead. Now we wait for Barnaby's perception roll.

Well that's curious.

“What did you have for breakfast Puddin? I don’t think it agreed with you. You’re looking very pale.”
The ritual was interrupted by the conversation. Feel free to try again when the opportunity arises.
Bold text: what was that, Puddin? Looked like a child was swinging there for a second
kif moves a little closer to Puddin and the gallows

Barnaby will shrug and waddle down the road after his new friends.
Edit: After a search of the gallows.
