OOC > We're gonna level up soon, right? So Drusk can get Remove Curse? :D
"Uhhh..." Quillary comes round with all the healing, but is holding her head. She sits up and examines her remaining wounds. "Oh, that's not good." Looking up at the others, she nods. "I will be fine, thank you. No need for that, Pascal. Perhaps the druid we seek will have some power to heal whatever infection this creature has left behind." She looks for a hand up.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Hildigrim looks confused at Pascal's gesture, but then appears to "get it". "Wha —? No!" the halfing responds, scowling. "Hainard's hairy toes, Pascal! We don't know for sure she's contracted the disease!"
After Quillary's response:
Hildigrim's eyes widen with fear and concern. "You mean ... ? Oh, Quillary, I'm so sorry. I should have realized it was a werewolf." He sits back on his butt and places his hands on the sides of his head. "I wasn't prepared to do that, and I missed things. I should have practiced on the way here."
Pascal puts the knife away and shrugs, “Listen, I haven’t gotten the ‘hole idea of y’all softskin’s ‘medicine,’” Pascal does air quotes, “I don’ know what y’all can regenerate or what y’all can’t!”

Jorin claps Pascal on the back and laughs heartily, "Pascal, your humor is as keen as any axe!"
He offers Quillary a hand up, "You shall be fine. There are a few days until the moon returns, plenty of time to cut the thread of this curse." He spits in the ground and looks to Quillary expectantly, "You should ward yourself too, try spitting. It has always worked for me."
The 2 wolves were "normal", but the large one had reverted to humanoid (on death). The scruffy and smelly man (hasn't bathed in recent memory, has fleas) had a large tattoo on his chest with the Black Blood sigil.
After bandaging Quillary's bite wound (forearm of clubbing arm), the party continues along the path. As you journey deeper into the forest, it becomes more unnerving, more sinister. The trees have taken grotesque shapes, and their branches reach overhead like great wooden claws. Some of the knotholes of the trees look suspiciously like eyes. Silence and mist cover everything. The branches creak when they sway, sometimes sounding like low moans or growls. The few birds you see look at you suspiciously, almost as intently as Volo gazes at things.
After half an hour, there are wolf prints crossing the path. Are they the same group that ambushed the party earlier? Can't tell. Volo (still flying a short distance ahead of the party) notices another effigy hanging from higher tree branches, similar in design to the previous one (but not identical). As Volo looks ahead, there is another effigy further down the path, just within sight range.

Yes they are. High enough to not be noticed until you are walking near them (to startle travelers), but not high enough to be destroyed by the fall.
Volo can’t Attack, but he could still saw away at the bindings, to make it fall to the ground while the party is still some distance away.

Volo tears through some of the twine holding up the effigy. It falls to the ground, bones breaking and pieces scattering. It was a scarecrow (lower case), not a Scarecrow (upper case).
There are actually several more of these effigies lined up along the path, each one only seen when you reach the previous one. It takes time for Volo to cut them down (and verify that they are only effigies), but better a delay than a surprise attack.
A little after 2 hours since you entered these woods, Volo sees a brighter area ahead, with multiple figures gathering.
As the party huddles to discuss how to approach the area ahead, there is a high-pitched voice says from below you (even Hildigrim). “Pssst hey you!” Looking down, you see a small fey who was not there a moment ago. (None of you, including Volo, saw this being come up to your group.) He has violet skin and pale-yellow hair and is dressed in a jerkin and hose. He sports two enormous yellow eyebrows that stretch off his face and end in a curl. His eyes twitch as he concentrates on his rapid-fire words. “Don’t go this way. The Shadow of the Beast’ll kill ya. Ya need t’talk t’my mistress. Come with me!”

With a start, Jorin's hands rush towards his weapons but pause after gripping them, "Tiny creature, your stealth was almost met by the smile of my axe!"
As Pascal deduced, having to split his conversation between two people is slowing this tiny figure just enough that you can follow what he is saying. He talks fast, constantly jitters and fidgets. And gets bored really easily, sometimes in the middle of his own sentence.
"Axe smile? Y'hit ya own face with da ax, that why y'be so slow? Move. Less talk. More move. Move!
"Who is mistress? Hyll of course. Who else would be Snicklet's mistress? Only the wise wisest faerie around. Must be boh-ring ta not know obvious.
"Y’should meet with Hyll. She needs ya; ya need her. She’ll talk; y’ll listen. Why are ya waitin’? Let’s go! Now. Now. Now. NOW!”
(Snicket somehow makes you think of a 4 year old human after consuming 3 sugar donuts and an entire pot of strong coffee. For all the urgency and pushiness to get going, you don't feel the motivation to blindly follow him just because he says so.)

Hildigrim squats down to be closer to eye level with the purple creature. "Snicklet, we're looking for a well. It's very important. But we were told to follow this path. What is a shadow of the beast?"
To Quillary: "I don’t know why Hyll wants to meet ya, but she sent me to getcha. That means ‘tis super important and has t’be done. Chop-chop!"
