"Oh! No, no, no," Necey scolds overzealous dragonborn. "This just won't do! What did I tell you? This may just be an illusion, but I still don't like to see the trees burn." The druid attempts to keep the flames at bay by snuffing out some of the embers with her druidcraft.
Necey is able to extinguish most of the flames on the door. They party now sees Caerlan's hand has opened the other unlocked but trapped door having set off ray of frost!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Golver enters the room and looks around. It's a small room 10ft by 40ft with a table at the far end near a door. The door seems to be the only exit other than the one he's jogged through. It's not particularly well lit but the storm raging outside the arched windows facing east flash with lightning as thunder rumbles rattling the stain glass windows.
Noticing that the room is not well lit, Golver will walk across the room and cast light on the table. After casting the dragonborn will shout "I checked for traps! come on in!"
Caerlan moves up to the door he has just opened following behind Golver "Slow down big guy, what do you see?" Caerlan will move up to a spot near to but not right on top of Golver examining the area closely to determine what is an illusion and what isn't. "So, is any of this real, I wonder..."

(So I just realized there is nothing that say you can only have light going on one object at a time so..)
Golver will reach up and cast light on each of his horns one at a time before looking around "Well... I see a table... and a door.. and a window..." The dragonborn will say as he walks around the room.
Perception check! 3
"A floor... it is really bight in here actually.... " Golver will say as the bright light of his horns temporarily blind him as his eyes transition from the dim light to the bright light...
OOC: No worries. I swear I remember spells then realize it's from another edition!!
Caerlan moves to the table atop what now looks more like a desk scattered with items: a quill set, a half drawn map, a vail of bluish liquid, a magnifying glass, and a bit of parchment with the following scribbled upon it:
I have many tongues but cannot taste
By me, most things are turned to waste
I crack and snap, yet I stay whole
I may take the largest toll
I assisted all of the first men
And I will pay them back again
Around me, people snuggle and sleep
Yet run when I am released from my keep
I jump around and leap and bound
The cold man wishes I he had found...
The parchment has finger prints at the corner in smudged ink but all is dry.
Necey follows behind the pair. "What do you all find?"she says excitedly. The looks around the dark room and then grabs one of the patches off her robe to produce a bullseye lantern. "There we go. Much better." She moves to the table and sets the lantern on one end illuminating the objects on the table.
"Hmmm, listen up the writing says....." Caerlan reads out the riddle to the others smiling as he gets towards the end "Sounds like fire to me, do we agree?" he pauses expectantly in case saying the word does something, if not he uses the magnifying glass on the other things including the ink pot, letter and map.

"Either that, or it's just purposefully misleading... Being a riddle, it describes fire so well, that it wouldn't be a surprise if there was a catch there..." Aura thinks aloud, letting the party know her thoughts on the text written in the parchment. "What about the other items?"
"Hu? what? did you say something, you have to speak up. I am so much larger and taller sometimes I dont catch everything being said from smaller being such as yourself" Golver would say with a Grin, his eyes locking with the gnomes. "But I agree that the riddle is totally talking about fire.." The dragonborn would say as he surveys the room for anything that looks like it could use set on fire...
Necey notices a blackened and cold fire place at the other end of the room. It's nearly invisible in the darkly painted wall to the left of the table and door nearest the windows.
"H-huh... T-that's fair, actually..." Aura responds Caerlan, reluctantly conceding to what he was saying."Fire makes the most sense, I'll give you that... So, should we set something on fire? We still haven't examined the other things that are on the table." Aura says before actually approaching the table, looking at the items in front of her, and specially giving attention to the map. What does it look like, and what could it be pointing to?

Caerlan doesn't notice anything in his immediate area but the table seems promising!
Golver's eyes adjust to the light but finer details remain unclear to the dragonborn.

Walking forward Caerlan carefully checks over the table and any contents he finds. "What do we have here, hopefully not an exploding table."
