Preah stares as Kordmemian easily obtains everything they needed from the imp and more. Finally shaking herself out of her awed state, she simply says “How many others are following us? What other types of minions does this dragon have working against us?”
"How many others?" repeats Grummerzap in response to Preah. "I know of only one; my partner Rubnub--the one who scurried up the stairs while being chased by the cat. I do hope he's not in any danger, by the way."
To Elsa, the imp says, "Klauth is not the sort of master who would take the time to explain why he has sent me and Rubnub on this errand. Nor is he the sort of master who would look kindly upon an imp who believed he had the right to ask why. He's rather difficult in that way, you see."
After a short pause, Grummerzap continues, "Nor is he the sort of master who will look kindly upon an imp who reveals all of this information. Why am I talking so much?"
Irthos chuckles as the imp spills everything out thanks to Kordmemian’s spell. “I wouldn’t have thought so no! Where do you report to this Klauth? Perhaps we can come to some sort of deal if things aren’t looking so cheery for you now Grummerzap?”
"No need to report to Old Snarl; he hears and sees when he so chooses. I've heard it called scrying," explains the imp. "One moment I'm doing my own thing, and then, the next moment, I can tell that he's watching and listening to me. I find the whole thing a bit unnerving. I really do."
Grummerzap pauses and a curious expression crosses the imp's face. "Speaking of unnerving, I think he's wa..."
The imp cuts himself short and does not finish his thought. At the same moment, Elsa's faerie fire reveals something rather odd. Grummerzap, along with the table and chairs near him, are, of course, outlined in the magical light created by Elsa's spell. Something new, however, suddenly appears in the spell's area of effect: a small orb that is roughly the size of a person's fist.
As grummerzap cuts himself short and the orbs floats into view Irthos looks at it curiously for a moment before he connects the dots. Dashing forward so he is close enough he casts a mage hand enchantment and uses the conjured hand to grasp at the orb that has floated into view.
On the third floor of the House of Knowledge, the imp offers an unimpressive answer to Gale's question about the title of the book. "The book is called...hmmm...yes, that's right. I actually don't know. I was merely given a description."
Gale (not aware of what's going on downstairs) starts to look impatient and curtly responds, "Well then describe the book!"

On the third floor...
The imp, annoyed by Gale's tone and also running out of patience, says, "I've had quite enough!" It then springs upward, flaps its wings, and heads straight toward Gale...

Gale anticipated everything the imp was intending to do and easily avoids the attack.

On the ground floor...
Irthos' spectral hand seizes the magical orb momentarily before it completely vanishes. Elsa connects the appearance of the orb to Grummerzap's mentioning of scrying. The orb serves as the magical "eyes" and "ears" of whoever is casting the scrying spell.

If the imp will not come willingly, she will cast Sleep on it and take the unconscious body.
Gale's attempt to grapple the imp is unsuccessful; the tiny fiend proves to be too elusive. It once again swings its stinging tail, hoping to poison the cleric.

On the ground floor...
The scrying orb vanishes, indicating that the caster who created it has ended the spell. Grummerzap ponders Preah's advice, but he retorts, "Impossible. The things Old Snarl would do to me if..."
The imp does not finish his sentence, for he suddenly slumps to the ground, completely asleep.
Preah gathers the small body and turns to her sister. “Go get Gale and see what he found out about the cat. Another imp, I would wager. Most likely we should go, or at least figure out what to do with the two spies. The dragon knows we are here, we don’t want him to figure out what we discover.” She then begins to grapple the imp (who auto-fails contest becasue unconscious), ready for when it awakes.
Chuckling loudly at his sisters negotiation technique Irthos turns to Kordmemian and says "I suppose it's probably fair that we explained whats going on. Especially as it seems that we have a new topic of interest to look into."
With a quick look in the direction of his two sisters to check that they don't object he would then proceed to explain the situation and the riddle to Kordmemian.

Gale will growl at the imp and say, "Imp, if that stinger so much as nicks me, it'll be the end of you. No one will recognize you were ever an imp. Now stop squirming." Gale will continue to attempt to grapple the imp...

Acrobatics check for Rubnub: 15
The imp, overly confident, darted very close to Gale in its attempt to sting him, and Gale quickly responds and closes his hands around the fiend. One hand grips the imp's neck; the other grips the imp's legs and tail, rendering the stinger useless. Gale strides down the stairs, meeting his sister Elsa on the way and ignoring the string of Infernal profanities that pour from Rubnub's mouth. Upon returning to the ground floor, Gale sees that his sister Preah is also holding an imp, although hers is a bit more cooperative at the moment.
Gale looks at Preah and motions with his head, "Looks like you have a better way with these than I do. This one won't stop squirming. Says he's here to steal a book."
Elsa looks at Kordmemian, "Do you think you could compel him to tell us which book? What are we going to do with these poor creatures once they've answered our questions. They are spies, but presumably they are disposable to a dragon. I wonder how much he knows already?" The look on her face is grim.

"Preah, grab the imp! We're being watched! Take care with what you say as well, he can likely still hear us."
She wraps the orb further until she's holding a wad of cloth canvas.
