"Your holy symbol?" Rethan asks. "Are...were...you a cleric?" He's surprised when a secret door sudddenly opens in the wall, but walks over to the doorway after the undead half-elf walks through, peering through but not crossing the threshold yet until he sees what is beyond.
The passageway beyond the secret door is not as finished as other passages. It winds to the right and then curves back beyond what the light can reveal.
Morph refreshes his Light and Detect Magic, and then directs the bear to follow him to the door, where Morph waits to follow his friends into the passage.
"Well we freed him, so I suppose we should take some responsibility for what he plans to do. Shell we follow?"
The passage straightens and then emerges through what appears to be another secret door into a large room. The ceilings are vaulted, at least 30 feet high, and a life-sized statue stands in the middle of the room. The statue depicts a dwarf king standing atop a 3-foot-high stone pedestal. Sprouting from the king’s neck is a deformed, mostly featureless second head with an elongated, toothless mouth. The inscriptions on the pedestal have been worn away. On the king’s brow rests an engraved stone circlet, and his large hands grasp the handle of a stone warhammer, the head of which is planted at his feet.
The sound of squabbling goblins emanates from a tunnel leading north. Halleth stands near the statue but facing away from the goblin sounds. He appears to be looking west, past the wall they just emerged from. Craning to look around the corner, the party sees a passageway of stairs descending into darkness, presumably to the level below. Halleth's eyes are intense as he looks into the darkness. "Could I trouble one of you for a weapon?" he says. "If you haven't one, I shall...inquire...with the goblins."
Rethan pulls the javelin from his pack and slowly holds it out to Halleth, but does not release it quite yet. "How do we know we can trust you?" he asks?
(Javelin is fairly safe to loan out, since it's bonded to me, so I can just summon it back to myself if he tries to attack us)
Titus glares at the Halleth with suspicion. “You have not answered our questions, and we are not in the business of arming the undead. Tell us what it is you seek and then we can decide if it warrants our help.”
Following behind Halleth, the party walks up a passage heading north. It opens up into a room to the east with three different entryways. Inside, 19 goblins are bitterly arguing and on the cusp an all-out brawl. They appear to be fighting over some scraps of spoiled food. A twentieth goblin lies dead on the floor, the victim of an argument that ended badly.

Laniel considers what kind of undead Halleth might be. Arcana: 9 He shrugs and joins Rethan in examining the passage.

Rethan shrugs, looking back at the others. "Guess we go see where this goes?" he asks, peering around for signs of traps in the passageway.

If he doesn't spot anything and no one objects, he heads into the passageway.

“Yes, we should pursue, who knows what evils he might bring about!” Says Titus as he barrels down the hallways chasing after the wretched undead.

"Ahh, sorry, I don't believe we have any spare weapons friend."

Halleth stares at Titus and Rethan. He bats the javelin away. "You. Are. Wasting. My. Time."
Then, the undead half-elf turns and storms off to the north in the direction of the goblin sounds.
Morph watches as the strange undead man walks off to the north.
"This is not a normal, adventurer/undead interaction, normally there is more moaning or screeching, and then a fight for your life."
"We got in his way, as far as we can understand his motives, and he still hasn't taken a single hostile action towards us."
Morph shakes his head.
"Oh, also, did anyone else notice? Our strange undead friend looks to have lead us to a way down to the second level."
Morph points out the stairs down.

"Would we be getting in his way if we followed him?"
