Mythresponds to Golorr, as Morphwaits for Rethan'sconfirmation or denial.
"Actually, I was going to ask you if you know how we could get a hold of this infamous treasure we have heard about."
"Do you know the details or is it in the magic you have, that the details can be found?"
"The magic is some kind of knowledge acquisition spell isn't it? Can you tell me about it, how it works? it seams to have some limitations or restrictions I don't fully understand."
Golorrgives a pained sigh. "Okaaay,"he says, like a pained spoiled prince. "You know the story of the wish-granting genie? Think of it like that. The magic that has granted me this god-like existence can also be made to compel me to divulge what I know. I actively resist this magic, but it resets some each day. I tell you this to save us both time and suffering, as you would figure it out soon enough. Know that I will not divulge my knowledge willingly, though. It is mine." You can almost hear Golorrspitting as he rails against this aspect of the magic that created it.
"Hmm...Hm Hm Hmmm." Mal distracts himself with a neat tune for a moment before his eyes refocus on Morph/Myth. "That's just confusing."
He gets up from the table and walks over to the window. With an abrupt turn, he looks across the room. "Do you all have a secret language or something? A tell or sign to differentiate yourselves from others? I've run across dopplegangers, but not changelings. Is there an inventory of Waterdeeper shape-changing persons?"
Without waiting for an answer, he continues. "I suppose it doesn't matter, in the long run. Knowing who someone is isn't nearly as fun as finding out. Keep me guessing, MMMyrth. Morph. Myth. Whatever."
Rethannods at Morph. "I regret more than just 'some' of the things I did, though I did my best to avoid doing things I'd regret as much as possible. Unfortunately, as a street rat caught up by a gang, you aren't left with a lot of choices. I was lucky I was able to escape with into the mercenaries and didn't end up stuck in the gang."
Rethanturns to the others. "It's Morph." Turning back to look Morphin the eye and giving a slight nod of his head, he adds, "I trust him with my life, no matter what he looks like."
"I'm not a new person, Lanial, Morph may have a somewhat fake history, but I am Morph, this is who I am, only some of the details of my past are different."
"I'm afraid shapeshifters don't tend to advertise their true nature, except to select individuals. So welcome to the select few?"
Morphgives a lame smile.
"As for knowing its me, I use this, as my secret sigh."
Morphblinks and his right eye changes, the iris and pupil being replaced by a sideways figure 8, the symbol for infinity.
"If you need to be sure, I will usually secret this symbol about my person, for my friends to find. Maybe a tattoo, or an odd scar, or just a quick flash like this."
Morphpoints at the eye, before blinking again, returning the eye to normal.
"I would prefer, if you could keep my true name secret, if you would. Just call my Morph, while I am Morph, and whoever I claim to be, if running a different face."
Morphtakes a deep breath, this time letting it out with a sigh of relief.
"Now, as to the stone and our next move."
Morphreaches out and takes Golorr from the bar.
"According toGolorr, while he has an insatiable desire for knowledge, he is not so keen to let it go."
"The magic of the stone, that gives him "life", allows the attuned to try and forceGolorrto share his knowledge."
"I was hoping to establish a friendly relationship withGolorr, to share knowledge, and receive in kind, but this looks to be beyond Golorr'snature."
"I can try and use the magic to acquireGolorr's knowledge about the infamous treasure, but that will be it, until another night has passed."
"Maybe we should try and workout the best way to word the question, to get the information we need, to start making plans and taking action?"
Titusis taken aback upon learning of the criminal histories of both Morph and Rethan.
“I had not assumed a members of the guard would have such a background... my own upbringing was draconian, strict and traditional.”
He sighes as he then reflects on their time together, and the many other soldiers he had known who served with honor and distinction despite dishonors deeds they committed long ago.
“The past is gone! What matters now is the man you’ve become. You are both wise and kind, whatever part of you that drove you down such a dark path must have been vanquished long ago. I am proud to stand with you, and to call you my...” He then switches to his native tounge, using the Draconic word for “brother”.

"My own...brothers...at the monastery often cast off misdeeds when they joined us. They were all good men. Well..." Laniel cannot bear to finish the though.
"So, anyway,"he says, changing the subject. "How should we ask the stone for this treasure?"
"if it values knowledge and information so much," Rethan asks, "could it be persuaded to make a trade? We provide it some new information it doesn't already know in ordre to gain the information we want?"
”Perhaps it can tell us who else is seeking the treasure and the stone? While we want to know it’s location, we may still be in danger from any rivals like those damned fiends.”

"That could be a good question to ask, definitely. We shouldn't be afraid to ask something sooner rather than later for that reason. If we get a vague or silly answer, we can ask again tomorrow."
"Ok, i'm going to ask, "Tell me everything you know, about Dagult Neverember's secret treasure, that everyone is trying to find.", and see what we get."
Morphgoes quiet for a moment, concentrating on the stone in his hand.
"Ok Golorr, i'm going to have to make use of the magic, to get some information."
"I am truly sorry that you don't wont or like to share information, but unfortunately we need this information"
Mythactivates the magic within Golorr, casting Legend Lore, to get the information the group seeks.
"Please tell me everything you know, about Dagult Neverember's secret treasure, that everyone is trying to find."

Golor sighs. "Very well. Lord Dagult Neverember's secret treasure is valued at 500,000 gold and was embezzled from the city of Waterdeep before he was exiled from his position as the Open Lord. The treasure is guarded underneath the city by a gold dragon. Access to the treasure is hidden in an old mage tower in the Sea Ward. Entry into the vault will require three items: An invisible creature, a painting of a dwarf miner, and a pair of bugbear ears."

Morph shake his head with a smile, at his friends suggestions,
"I'm pretty sure the magic is a, once per day compulsion, to get Golorr to divulge his knowledge."
"If we asks plain yes no questions, it could take us a month to narrow it down, one question per day."
"If we ask "where is the treasure", we may get an obscure answer like, "hidden in a room"."
"Hmmmm..."
Morph thinks for a moment.
"Ok, we could try, "Tell us everything you know about the treasure", although that could get us answers about some random treasure..."

"Ahhhh...?"
"Wow, ok...Thank you Golorr, I really appreciate it."
"I will see what other interesting knowledge I can get for you layer, thank you."
"Ok, Golorr says the treasure is worth five hundred thousand gold...Five. Hundred. Thousand!"
"Ah, and it's located under the city and can be accessed via an old mage tower, in the Sea Ward."
"He says the treasure is guarded by a Gold Dragon though, and to get access to the vault, will require 3 strange items."
"An invisible creature, a painting of a dwarf and a pair of bugbear ears...I don't understand that part..."
Morph ponders for a moment.
"Hmm, it seems we may be able to get more than one question out of the magic, per day."
"If I was to guess, maybe two more attempts? Golorr does seem to resist when I active the magic, so may not be guaranteed."

Laniel's eyes open wide. "I didn't even know that much gold existed in one city!"
Rethan whistles. "That is indeed a lot of money. Though I'm rather concerned by the fact that its being guarded by a gold dragon..."
