'Huddling amidst the boxes and crates, the alarmed Pyro never-the-less manages to pop up long enough to fire an arrow at the remaining giant insect, though the woman's wavering grasp causes her shot to go astray, the arrow flying waywardly to clatter off the room's rear wall.
The strange goblin-like Gibbs gives a shriek at seeing the brawny form of Wazzock lain low, and raises one green clawlike hand that is now wreathed in undulating green flame... which blasts out towards the giant wasp, the cackling flames singeing the creature's left side, before Gibbs retreats partially up the stairwell, muttering strange, indecipherable curses to himself.

'Seeing Gibbs scamper up the stairwell, Pyro seems to compose herself, drawing and firing another arrow towards the still dangerous creature, even as the wasp's enlarged stinger jabs towards Alwin's turned back. Unfortunately, the lightning-quick insect swerves to the side at the last moment, and again the genasi's arrow fires out harmlessley into the cellar,'

The wasp, undetered from its target, thrusts its abdomen and stinger towards Alwin, catching the distracted man right between the shoulder blades. 'Struggling from both the raw wound in his back and the lingering effects of the venom, the fighter's blow lacks the accuracy and power usual for the well-trained warrior, with the still dangerous giant wasp easily evading the strike.
Following the struggling half-elf's swing, Gibbs's goblin visage pops back down the stair, one crooked green finger pointed at your "buzzing* enemy, before you all begin to hear a hollow tolling, and mild-at-first, bell sound... that slowly builds in volume in the space occupied by the giant wasp. Alwin, standing nearby, begins to feel a reverbaration amongst his back teeth as the noise builds, while the wasp itself goes almost beserk in fury at the magic being brought to bear on it. The force of the magic apparently overhelm's the creature, as it's wings vibrate so frantically that one of them snaps and one of the creature's eyes burst with a viscous *POP*. The clearly dead creature falls unmoving to the floor.
The fiercer *buzzing* sound of the large creatures' wings is now silent, though a softer *droning* sound still comes from within the heart of the cage-like root structure.'

[OOC] All good. See your positioning post now. Good news for everyone else - the swarm is boiling out in the direction that their web/moss cover was being cleared away from. So Kestrell is directly middle-bottom (next to that 5'x5' stack of crates) and the WS is in a 10' line in front of you stretching back into the root structure.
Kestrell is up first, then Pyro, then the Wasp Swarm, then Gibbs.

'Taken by surprise by the suddeness of the erupting wasp swarm, Kestrell's hurled fire bolt soars wide of the mark, slamming into the root structure itself, burning away some of the moss and web covering, but doing little real damage to the living tree itself.
Pyro, seeing Kestrell imperilled, shoots an arrow into the swarm of fast-flying insects. The arrow strikes true, impalling two of the insects to a wooden create beyond, though Gibbs who is still trying to treat the envenomed Wazzock to free the half-orc from her paralysis, seems to realise the enomrity of the task in killing these creates one or two at a time with weapon blows, screeching,'
"We'll never kill them all THAT way, foolish girl. The half-elf is right... fire... or magic! It's our ONLY hope!"
'The swarm reaches the half-elven sorcerer's form then, engulfing the arcanist and surrounding area, dozens if not hundreds of the enraged insects buffeting and stabbing at Kestrell's form, many of the stinging creatures penetrating the caster's defences, despite his effort to summon a glimmering magical shield of force before him. The repeated stabbing of the creatures causes the half-elf to scream in pain, but some how he seems to shake off the worst of the effects of the venom coursing through his veins, though the previously handsome man's skin is left raised in horrid purple and red lumps.'

Alwin begins to breathe rapidly as he sees everything going on, it wasn't suppose to be like this or this hard. Thankfully he hear Pyro mention fire or magic and immediate begins to look around. He finds the nearest barrel of alcohol and rolls it towards the tree "Corellon's breath I hope this works."
He raises his hand and mutters some words in Elven as a fire bolt shoots from his hand.
'Still in Melee range, Kestrell casts Frostbite on the swarm.
"Alright, if I can't burn them, I'll freeze them!"
[OOC]: Constitution saving throw of 13, or they take 6 cold damage and disadvantage on the next attack roll.
'The half-elven sorcerer, still surrounded and indeed covered by the swarming wasps, shakelly reaches out with both hands, summoning a thin but biting sheet of ice about himself. Instantly, almost of a dozen of the insects are frozen where they crawl or fly, falling to shatter on the ground around the sorcerer. Many of the surviving wasps either seem to move more slowly or be discouraged by the cold, as Kestrell growls in almost primal fury, shaking his almost numb body to free himself from the last of the wasp covering. The swarm, apparently disliking the cold, zooms through and around the root system... flying straight at Alwin!
As the swarm emerges from around the root structure, a clearly uncertain Pyro shoots again into the swirling mass of insects with her bow, crying out in frustration as she does so, though the arrow merely passes harmlessly through the midst of the furious creatures.
Fortunately for the slightly surprised fighter, the swarm is moving somewhat sluggishly, still effected by Kestrell's ice-magic, and Alwin manages to deflect many of the creatures using his shield, with the rest of the swarm failing to penetrate his armour.
Having done all he can for Wazzock, Gibbs stands to his full height, throwing his arms out as he chants out a hex in a suddenly deeper, more ominous voice, sending dark strands of shadow stuff into the swarm as he does so, before once again summoning the dark sound of an infernal bell from some netherworld toll the dead. Despite the dread otherworldly powers Gibbs brings to bear however, the swarm seems unaffected.
