Alici helps someone else investigate, as much as she's able. She's not accustomed to poking around in the darkness and she grumbles a little under her breath while she goes about her tast.
Duc paces about in front of the door knowing investigative techniques are not really her forte "Nat, Retiog are either of you good at this sort of thing?" she asks waving in an exasperated manner at the door.
(I would roll but Duc has a negative mod - she no did good in skool)

Retiog shakes his head Duc's question. "No." He gets down close to the ground and begins to poke around the area at Gimble's suggestion, trying to apply his techniques that he has developed in his many years of hunting on the grasslands.
Retiog notices apart of the archway of the door is slightly raised. Running his hand along it he's pretty sure pushing it in will release the catch keeping the doors closed.
The space is eeriely quiet save the sounds your party is making.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
This quiet is a bit unsettling, says Nat in a low voice, almost a whisper. I wonder what the noise we're making will attract. His hand hovers next to his sword, and he glances about, not nervously but definitely on alert.
"I have found the release," Retiog announces to the others. "Maybe you all should stand back in case it is trapped...?" He waits for the others to ready themselves before unlocking the door.
(Any chance with that Nat 20, could he have determined if there are any traps?)
Once all are ready, he presses the raised portion and opens the door.
Retiog pushes the raised stone and the doors shutters as dust falls down onto Retiog!
"We'll that was unexpected," Gimble exclaims looking at Retiog honestly surprised! "Uh after you," he then gestures to the doors. "I'm not...uh great in the strength department," the half-elf adds with a smirk.
The doors are massive and look heavy!

Retiog remains still and glances around as the sound of the mechanism pierces the silence. He waits for a moment to make sure the noise doesn't call something to their position. He chuckles to himself and then looks to the half-elf. "Agreed."
He then looks to Alici, "Want to give me a hand again?"
Together Retiog and Alici open the doors into a massive chamber. It's cooler here. The air having a distinctive decaying smell of earth and rot. It's dark ahead. A heavy darkness that seems ominously foreboding.
"Yeah, this is defiantly the tomb," Gimble says in a hushed tone covering his nose and mouth. "This...this is most definitely the tricky bit. It's in a family tomb meaning multiple generations but I don't know which," the half-elf confesses putting away the map now. "It's a royal member of the Vaandree Dynasty. I...I don't suppose any of you have heard of them," he asks next.
History check.
OOC: Marching order into the room.
Theres space enough for shoulder to shoulder or even three people to walk through the large doors but the room is impossibly dark. The scent of decay permeates the air around the party, things long dead are near at hand. The silence much like before is ahead as well as behind.
Nat will enter fourth of fifth. He draws his shortsword, sheaths his dagger, and now casts light on the blade of the sword, holding it up to shed light upon the interior while trying to remain ready for combat. History: 8

Alici let's out a low whistle, marveling at the sheer size of the tomb. She searches her mind, though she feels it unlikely that she's heard anything about the Vaandree Dynasty, being from another continent. She crouches low and looks for traps, but shakes her head and requests help.

Retiog gives out a primal grunt as he pushes on the heavy door. Satisfied that he has been able to put his muscles to such good use, he stands a little straighter.
History 12
He pulls out a torch of his own and proceeds in carefully, with scimitar in his other hand, as one of this first inside.
Lighting the tomb the party is astonished to see it's a hive like structure with alcoves from floor to ceiling about 5ft wide and 2ft apart. There must be, if each alcove is used, an average of 150 bodies inside! There are also three large scarphogi in the center on platforms. One the scarphogi defiantly higher than the other two in the center. Gimble looks decided nervous groping a totem you now see him take from his shirt as he looks around the tomb.
"We'll uh...its somewhere in here," Gimble then says sheepishly. "I assume it's likely in one of those," he points to the three coffins in the middle.
Duc
You know the Vaandree Dynasty was the last hold out of the dark elves a hundred years ago against the Empire. It's a tale you've heard from a former drow traveling companion who claimed to be Vaandree themselves. The Vaandree lead great Queen Sybilla tried to fend off the Empire's push into their lands from above but the dark elves were thwarted by a secret weapon and their underground kingdom was destroyed. This tomb you're sure has Vaandree royalty, possibly even the Queen herself!

"I have heard of the Vaandree many times from a drow I once travelled with, who claimed to be kin to them and talked about what I must assume was this place, one of those three may well be the Queen herself. These were the last drow to make a stand against the empire, some unknown weapon or spell defeated them in the end but they were the last ones to hold out." Duc looks over the illuminated area "I hadn't realised it would be so big.."
Alici cautiously approaches the center tombs with her shield readied, her free hand grips the hilt of her rapier and her eyes scan the steps up to the dais. "If we don't see any clues immediately, I say we open these sarcophagi quickly, retrieve whatever it is we were meant to find, and get out. Even with all of this space, something about being underground... makes me claustrophobic."

Moving towards the center of the room Alici doesn't notice the runic script engraved on the stone floor. Once the runes are crossed it sets off an alarm awakening three undead dread warrior guards in what looked like piles around the platforms. The warriors reanimate and take protective stances between the party and the scarphogi! They are wearing fine yet dusty armor with the Vaandree family house insignias on shields and armor.
Everyone roll initiative!
Nature check to know what the dread are because they look like straight undead.
