"Very well. Misha, Kali, Sana, come with me. Syltra, stay behind and keep the Belle ready. If things go bad, we'll need to get out of here quickly." Carrhae exits the Belle with her arms and armor, flanked by her friends, but instead of holding a sword, she's carrying some of the better wines from the galley to present as a gift. 

Sloop, decked out in the latest in sniper fashion, can hardly contain himself he's so excited to be a member of the land-based team.  When they first make landfall, he does a little somersault (Acrobatics: 7), and ends up falling over at the end, into a puddle of mud.

"I meant to do that.  Improves my camouflage...you know....blending in and such."

As they make their way along the trail, he tunes his finely honed feline senses to the environment around him:

The cave is light by torches, allowing some light in. You four walk slowly into the cave. Emerging from the seaweed inside the cave are four massive lizardfolk armed with javelins in attack stances, and they slowly approach you, ready to strike.

"Easy everyone.." Misha slowly, very slowly, detaches her warhammer and shield from her armor and carefully set it down in front of her, then holding her hands up gently up about chest high. She gives everyone a quick glance, as if to say, copy me.

The lizardfolk stare at you all and remain perfectly motionless, waiting for your next move.

"Kapitan.."

These are my companions; Kali, Misha, and Sana. We come in peace."

Erriviel rises from the swamp muck that he had hidden in and extends a finger towards bullywugs 1 and 6, casting cause fear on them (DC 13 Wis save or frightened for 1 min, they can repeat the wis save on the end of their turn). He then backs off as far as he can from the bullywugs.

The Lizardfolk slowly, very slowly, approach you four. They appear to have no understanding of anything you just said, nor have any interest in the food. Each one has a very sharp javelin pointed at you, and are making a circle around you all. One of the Lizardmen makes a noise towards the back of the cave. They hold positions, neither attacking, nor letting their guard down. More tense moments pass. As Misha holds her hands up in a non threatening manner, she noticed the lizardman guarding her specifically relaxing his guard. She noticed Carrhae had not done the same when she called out to her earlier, and her opinion of her old friend and captain began to rapidly deteriorate.

After a few moments, Kali sighs and follows Misha’s lead and raises her hand in feigned surrender while her other hand moved to slip her axe out of its hold and sets it down on the ground before her. She eyes the lizardfolk as her other hand raises as well. “We’re just here to talk, not fight, understand that?”

Sana chews her lip, worried, but follows her captain's lead, keeping her hands away from her sheathed weapons but not putting them on the ground. Very quietly, she says to Carrhae, "Might not be a bad idea to put the bigger sharp things down. There may not be another way to communicate our peaceful intentions."

"I mean, it kind of is." She whispers back. "I don't want to fight, but if things go south, I'd rather not be defenseless. I was really hoping that these offerings would get the message across."
