"Those poor children. What happened here? What could lead someone to lock them up like this? We must figure out what's going on and see that whoever caused this to happen is dealt with." With a tear trailing down her face, she follows Eldon out of the room.

"It is horrible. I agree. And we saw them outside. Do they know they are dead?"
Kestrell follows Cinna.
"This is really sad. It makes me angry. And I'm not one to anger quickly."
They all learn that the Durst children were locked up in their bedroom by their parents, meeting their fate via starvation. As they go to exit the room, everyone hears a frail voice shout "Wait!" When everyone turns around to see who uttered this, they found themselves staring at two ghosts. The ghosts of Rose and Thorn Durst hovering over their dead bodies. "You will not abandon us like Mommy and Daddy did!" Rose shouts timidly. With that being said, everyone feels a gust of wind brushing through as the door to the bedroom slams shut. Everyone was in the room except for Urgog. Thorn, the little boy, continues to stare down at his feet as his sister gets abrasive with the party.
Xavice stands as far from the cabinet door as he can and stretches out his arm to clutch the handle. Xavice slowly pulls open the door to check for anything that may be inside.
Xavice enters the Den of Wolves and approaches the north cabinet, which isn't locked. He opens the cabinet to see it only contains a deck of cards and an assortment of wine glasses. The east cabinet is locked.
Eldon looks at the children and smiles "We aren't leaving you children - we are helping you with the monster remember. If we can't leave the room, we can't very well slay this beast can we. You want your younger sibling to be safe right? We'll get them and bring them back to you."
Rose appears agitated while Thorn stands quiet, lifting his hand to point a finger at the dollhouse. "They locked us in here because they didn't want the monster in the basement to get us. We were hungry and had no food... We died." Rose says with sorrow in her voice.
Urgog can make a Sleight of Hand check to see if he can open the door.

"Well that is terrible kids! It makes me very sad. What can we do to help, besides defeat the monster in the basement?"
"What happened to you was horrible, and we will take care of the creature in the basement. We won't lock you in here. Is there somewhere safe you want to wait while we check the basement so you don't have to see the monster? Would you like to go back outside?"
Thorn eventually pulls his hand down from pointing at the dollhouse and stares at the adventurers. Rose glances at Thorn with a nod. She averts her attention back to the party. "We won't stay here!" Rose shouts. With that being said, Rose and Thorn's body hovers roughly an inch off the floor, and they begin to soar toward the party.
Cinna, Eldon, and Kestrell can make a Dexterity Saving Throw. Urgog can make a Strength check to see if he can pry the door open.
Xavice doesn't notice anything peculiar about these deck of cards, as they appear to be standard playing cards.
Eldon is surprised when he feels Rose passing through him, while Thorn passes through Kestrell. The two would gasp as the Durst children possess them. Eldon and Kestrell are still in control despite being possessed, but they have a slight change to their personality now.
Eldon gains the following flaw: I like being in charge and get angry when other people tell me what to do. Kestrell gains the following flaw: I’m scared of everything, including my own shadow, and weep with despair when things don’t go my way.
While this happened, Urgog viciously busts the door open with his thunderous kick.

"Cinna! Can you talk them down?"
"Hello children. Remember the little bauble I made for you?"

Xavice sighs, hoping for something more exciting. He quickly checks through the cards to see if anything is peculiar.
