Initiative 14

Anafrey would smile as the mutant unfolds... "Looks like I'll be getting a chance to try out my new friend here sooner tha  I thought.." She would say as she draws the flail and wipes the hair from her face. At the first chance she gets, she would lunge forward straight towards left and swing her flail straight towards his face while attempting to also disarm the enemy.

Maldorn quickly prepares to fire an arrow at the ghost behind the sailors when he hears Erric tell him it's a fake apparition. Jambiya, using her innate nimbleness scurries underneath Maldorn's arm. As Maldorn releases his arrow at Toothless, Erric begins growling, causing the hairs to rise on the arms of everyone who can hear him (everyone on deck). But it is Bosun Grout who really reacts. He puts his fists to the side of his head and turns and runs to the bow of the ship (20 feet away and five feet past/through the false ghost) at the same time, Maldorn's arrow lands in Toothless's shoulder, causing the ginger to yell out. Erric praises Maldorn's shot, inspiring him. Then, they notice Jambiya casting a spell. Suddenly, a green haze appears, surrounding the red heads and Scrub. As it dissipates, Lefty and Scrub continue to glow. To get a better advantage, Maldorn slips past Anafrey and climbs the ladder to the quarterdeck. The combination of getting out of Maldorn's way, and the ship being rocked by an errant wave causes Anafrey to miss on her swing as she steps forward and attempts to hit Lefty with her new flail. At last, Ebokk seems to find his voice. "You will NOT take my father's beard ring!" He marches forward, drawing his hammer, and dodging the other sailors as he pursues Grout (he gets to within 10 feet of Grout; the ghost is between them, and he's five feet past Scrub, but also five feet to Scrub's left).

WIS save: 11

Grout turns and puts his hands on the rail as if he's about to jump over, but then he stops and appears to calm himself. Lefty swings his scimitar at Anafrey. (scimitar attack: 10, damage: 7 slashing damage) She ducks out of the way. Toothless joins his brother, also trying to cut Anafrey. (scimitar attack: 11, damage: 3 slashing damage) This brother is able to hit, doing a little damage. Scrub turns from the rail and tries to hit Ebokk. (scimitar attack: 19, damage: 2 slashing damage) Fortunately for the dwarf, the sailor's scimitar is deflected by his breastplate. Grout turns, sees Ebokk marching forward, and prepares to defend himself.

Round 2: Players (no one is hurt; Erric is concentrating 15 from the closest enemy [Toothless] and 40 feet from Grout; Jambiya is concentrating 15 from the closest enemy [Toothless] and 40 feet from Grout; Anafrey is in melee with and cornered by the twins; Maldorn's up on the quarterdeck; Ebokk is 10 feet from Grout) — baddies (Grout and Toothless are hurt; Grout was scared of Jambiya; Scrub was scared of Jambiya and believes the ghost is real [The poor guy who hates magic has seen a ghost, watched a little goblin girl turn into a fey monster, and is now glowing with magic, LOL!])

OOC > Aw, bummer Dex saves. Jambiya is sad. Looks like her sadness was premature!

Now completely understanding Erric's ruse, Maldorn fully refocuses on the battle. From his perch, He sees that Anafrey is getting surrounded and decides to provide some "cover fire" from above. With the words "I am one with the wood," the old ranger mark's the sailor that already has an arrow sticking from him and loosens another. Sagitta observes all of it, but does not engage in combat.

Bonus action: Cast Hunter's Mark on Toothless.

Action: Longbow vs. Toothless: Attack: 16 Damage: 10 piercing.

Erric, mindful he only has one more powerful spell left to cast, and the party might need healing, realizes he has to join the fray. He darts to the opposite side of the twins currently outnumbering Anafrey and tries to attack Lefty with first his rapier and then a small swipe with a dagger.

Attack: 19 Damage: 9

Offhand Attack: 24 Damage: 1

Should be hit, he will try to maim and not kill.

(Might have messed up the damage dice on that first hit - tried to fix the code on mobile but seem like it failed and the dice didn’t double?)

(After looking on browser, seems it just didn't add in the +3, so the damage on the first hit should be 8+3=11)

Jambiya follows Maldorn to the quarterdeck, but stands at the top of the ladder to defend the old man if anyone should follow them. From there, while concentrating on the green fire, she lets off a blast of green and white force towards Lefty, who is glowing!

Move: to join Maldorn on the quarterdeck
Action: Cast Eldritch Blast at Lefty with Advantage for Faerie Fire - 13 to hit, for 9 magical force damage

Concentration: on Faerie Fire for this and 8 more rounds

"HA! nice hit lad!" Anafrey would shout to Erric before swinging again once more with her flail towards Lefty. Trying to bring the weapon across his face while also hoping to wrap the flail around his weapon if possible and rip it away.... All while trying not to slip on any of the blood dripping from her fresh sword wound.

Attack: 22 Damage: 9
Bonus action DC13 strength save or be disarmed.

(Meant to have Erric inspire Ebokk if he still can, with his bonus action!)

OOC: Man, this concurrent initiative is a killer. I'm not sure I like it.

Maldorn looses another arrow at Toothless. The second arrow lands in the man's collar bone. He grabs at it and yanks it out, but then his knees give way, and he collapses.

Lefty yells, "Brother!" just as Erric is moving forward and around the collapsing twin to stab twice at Lefty. The cuts leave the still-standing ginger gasping for air and clutching at himself, but then Anafrey's new flail slams into his head and across his face. Blood and gore fly, some of it landing on Erric as the second ginger collapses.

Ebokk stomps forward, stepping through the ghost, and swings his hammer at Grout. (warhammer attack: 24, damage: 13 bludgeoning damage)

Grout reacts by swinging his scimitar at Ebokk (scimitar attack: 5, damage: 4 slashing damage), but the dwarf deflects the blow with his own weapon.

Jambiya makes it to the top of the ladder and fire an eldritch blast at the one remaining glowing sailor: Scrub. It hits the young man, doing minimal physical damage.

Scrub drops his scimitar, closes his eyes, and says through tears, "I give up! Please don't kill me! I'm sorry! I didn't want to do it!"

Grout growls as he swings again at Ebokk. (scimitar attack: 5, damage: 6 slashing damage) This time, the blade connects, but the dwarf acts as though he does not feel it.

Party, you're up! The twins are dead. Yes, dead. Arrows are always lethal, and Anafrey didn't say anything about non-lethal attacks. Scrub is surrendering. Grout and Ebokk are battling it out.

Jambiya will run back down the ladder and pull out her dagger, running for the nearest of the twins. She slides to a stop by him, and using the dagger to rip some clothes into makeshift bandages, trying to stabilize him. 

Medicine: 18

(Erric did try to maim and not kill, if that means anything. He used his rapier.)

Not really knowing what to do with the twins, he asks "should I heal them?" If it seems like it would work at all, he'll bonus action healing word the twin that seems least close to death. Regardless, his anger and his attention does turn back to Grout. 

"This is your fault! We didn't want to fight you! We wanted to give you a share! You had such an easy job! And you almost stole Maldorn's horn! And you've always been weird! No we won't give you what's ours!" As he's shouting, his voice begins to hum with a subtle enchantment and a wave of force projects right to Grout's ears, as he casts vicious mockery for 4 psychic damage and disadvantage on his next attack should he fail a WIS 13 save.

Maldorn yells at Scrub: "You better sit on that corner and not move a muscle or one of these arrows will find the back of your skull, coward!"

Then at Anafrey: "Icerivers, go with the dwarf. It would be a pity to lose him twice in less than a week."

With that, Maldorn refocuses his arcane mark onto Grout and shoots at the mischievous sailor leader.

Bonus action: Shift Hunter's Mark onto Grout.

Action: Longbow (Sharpshooter) vs. Grout: Attack: 3 Damage: 20 piercing.

OOC: Oh well...

"Don't anyone heal those traitors! Heal our wounded. They made their choice when they decided a fair share wasnt good enough" Anafrey would shout as she moves to Ebokk. "You alright? You dont need Erric to kiss you again right?" She would say to the captain.

Jambiya ignores Anafrey. ;)

Jambiya, you begin binding wounds and trying to give Toothless another chance. Unfortunately, he has stopped breathing, and nothing you do brings him back.

Erric, you didn't administer the killing blow; Anafrey did. Both gingers are dead.

WIS save: 18

Grout appears to ignore your mockery, Erric. He also ignores Maldorn's arrow, which whizzes by his ear.

Ebokk grasps the handle of his warhammer with both hands and swings it again at Grout (warhammer attack: 11, damage: 9 bludgeoning damage), but the bosun moves out of the way.

Scrub sits down on the deck with his hands raised as Grout swings again at Ebokk. (scimitar attack: 15, damage: 3 slashing damage)

Players, you're up!

Jambiya will delay, standing up and shouting, "Give up Grout! Keep your life!"

If he continues to attack, she will then shoot him with an Eldritch Blast.

Attack: 17 to hit, for 9 magical force damage (lethal, alas)

Erric will move closer to Scrub, pointing a dagger at him in a 'stay where you are' motion, and he will use his action to have the silent image of the dwarven pirate crouch down over Scrub, limbs almost enfolding him like a spider, but still not touching him.

He'd ready a dagger to throw at Grout if he attacked Ebokk, but he sees Jambiya's fingers sparkling and hears her entreaty, and figures she has the bosun handled.

Maldorn sees what his companions are doing but is not quite ready yet to risk Ebokk's life to another lucky strike before taking action. He shoots another arrow.

Action: Longbow (Sharpshooter) vs. Grout: Attack: 8 Damage: 21 piercing.

He then tries to pass off the misplaced projectile as a warning shot: "You are the only one still fighting. Listen to the girl, bosun, or the next arrow will find your nose." 

Anafrey would wipe some of the splattered blood from her face with the back of her hand before charging towards Grout. "You've got no where to hide you mangy sea dog!" She would shout as she brings her flail around and attempts to cave in the mutinous sailor's head.

Attack: 14 Damage: 10

Ebokk swings his warhammer again at Grout. (warhammer attack: 22, damage: 6 bludgeoning damage) Right afterward, Anafrey's flail sails through the air. Wham! Wham! Both weapons hit, but the bosun is still on his feet.

As Erric directs his silent image to hover over Scrub, the sailor covers his head with his hands and whimpers.

Grout raises his scimitar to attack again, but Jambiya's quick fingers send a green white bolt of energy flying in his direction. It hits him in his massive, hairy chest, throwing him over the prow and into the frothy water.

Ebokk finally lowers his warhammer slowly and turns to look at Anafrey. "Thank you."
