You continue up the stairs to reach the top, which opens onto a dusty balcony, with a suit of black plate armour standing against the north wall opposite the staircase.
Those with darkvision see oil lamps mounted on oak-panelled walls, which have carvings of trees, falling leaves and tiny critters.
There is a set of double doors in an alcove to the east, opposite which is a single door going west five feet across the hallway. There are also doors going north and west in the northwestern corner of the room.

When Vrakvroth approaches the suit of armour, and gets up close to inspect it, the suit attacks.
First Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Second Attack: 7 Damage: 7
The armor slams down on top of Vrakroth with it's two gauntletted hands, as the suit animates and begins to move on it's own.
Roll Initiative
Animated Armour: 16
Simmy's PbP Combat structure:
So, we're finally entering the first combat of the game. It's been a while coming. Here's how I do combat on PbP - everyone will roll initiative as normal, but when it comes to posting to keep things moving it'll be done in two groups. On the initiative roll, post what your also planning to do for your first move and I'll organise them all into the right order, and post what the animated armor does on it's turn in the order.

Roselina listened as Vrakvroth read the letter out loud where basically whoever received this was being insulted and reprimanded by a Strad Von Zarovich. She heard Dread Lord though, remembering how the Vistani mentioned that the prince was now a Dread Lord. Is Strad the one that they are looking for? "I think that Strad might be the prince that we are looking for." she had commented before Jinhazar opened the chest, noting the different spell scrolls. She noticed the deed and will, figuring that everything would be going to the children when their parents die and assumed that Rosavelda and Thornboldt were the two children they saw outside. Roselina heard Vrakvroth and Jodrith, agreeing with them both before following everyone up to the next level. She saw the balcony and the black suit of armor, hearing Vrakvroth as she shook her head. "I don't think that would be a good idea." she had said, considering that how the children's parents practice dark magic, nothing can be safe or what it seems to be here. Sure enough she saw as the suit of armor now attacked Vrakvroth and is moving on its own. "I told you so!" she had called out, sighing and annoyed now. While seeing two of her party go attack the thing head on, she will whisper a discordant melody to the suit of armor, aiming to scare it and make it run away while dealing damage.
When the suit of armor attacks, Jodrith is the first to notice and do something about it. Pulling out his maw, he takes a swing at the moving suit of armor, making contact and leaving a sizable dent within the armor, which almost makes it stagger back a little.
(Animated Armor Wis Save: 1)
The suit doesn't seem to be affected by the spell that Roselina casts, as she whispers and the words don't seem to reach this animated suit of armor, and you learn that it is immune to psychic damage.
Hansen looks at the situation, "By Pelor's light this isn't good" he says, casting a guiding bolt in the direction of the armor
Attack: 20 Damage: 28
Vrakroth then steps up to the suit of armor, and takes a swing at it in response to being hit by the thing with his companions all responding in kind on his side. Bringing down his longsword against the armor, it is unable to parry in time and comes crashing to the ground in pieces, the echo of the sound of the armor hitting the floor seems to echo unnaturally throughout the whole house.
"Armor that comes to life by itself... What exactly have we walked into? Well double doors always seem to lead to a important place, lets check those out." And Jodrith will move to open the double doors.
Roselina was annoyed as her spell hadn't worked, the damn thing immune to psychic damage. But luckily the guys defeated it easily, agreeing with the guys about how they must be more wary and strange things are about. "Yes, they use dark magic so everything here is likely to be a danger to us." she had said as she follows them out.
(OOC: As GoldenAcorns hasn't gotten back to us I'm gonna bot him for now - have sent a message to him, but haven't heard anything.)
IC: As you approach the double doors, you notice that they have dusty panes of stained glass set into them. You can make out the shape of windmills within the glass.
Entering the chamber, the room is dusty and filled with cobwebs. Covering the windows are large burgundy drapes that just trim the floor gently but cover the full frame of the windows on the other side. In the eastern part of the room against the wall on the opposite side of the door, and a little to the south is a large four-poster bed surrounded by embroidered curtains and tattered gossamer veils. On the eastern end of the southern wall are two matching wardrobes, a vanity table next to the door on the northern side of the room with a wood-framed mirror and jewellery box, and a padded chair in the Northeast corner of the room.
In front of a fireplace on the northern wall lies a large tiger-skin rug, and above the fireplace is a large portrait of the two older figures you saw down below, the parents of the Durst family, along with a tag identifying those in the portrait as a Gustav and Elisabeth Durst.
In the southwest corner of the room, it enters into an area that acts like a sort of parlour, which contains a table and two chairs covered in cobwebs, and has definitely not been used for some time. On the dirty tablecloth is a empty porcelain bowl and a matching jug.
There is a door facing the foot of the bed which is adorned with a mirror, and two doors in the eastern and western walls within the parlor area.
"Master bedroom? Should we look around or continue on?" Jodrith moves to the door facing the foot of the bed to begin to look through and see whats beyond it while he waits for the groups next move.

Jinhazar speaks into Jodrith's mind and suggets that we proceed up to the next level.
"Sounds like a plan" and Jodrith will head out of the room and head for the staircase to head up to the third level where the child is suppose to be.
Jinhazar follows closely with his staff still shedding Light
Vrakvroth follows the others.

Vrakvroth stands before the plate armor wondering if the suit would fit him. He checks the size.
"I believe that I would look good in this armor. " he remarks out loud.

Vrakvroth looks down at the broken armor.
"Pity, I am sure I would have looked good in that."
He checks to see if maybe the breast plate could be scavenged from the remnants.
He then realizes he is bleeding. He Lays Hands on himself and takes care of the worst of the wounds.
"Better, but not whole. Let's continue, but we must be more wary. Strange things are afoot in this house."
"Armor that comes to life by itself... What exactly have we walked into? Well double doors always seem to lead to a important place, lets check those out." And Jodrith will move to open the double doors.
Jinhazar speaks to Vrakroth, "Well you can always use one of the four suits from the second floor. They've got wolf heads."
He then follows Jodrith
"Yeah, maybe we'll leave those alone. Let's continue."
Vrakvroth follows.
