"I was informed that we would need food, water, and insect repellent. But since my companion Sherri and I come from Balder's Gate, it might also be good for us to purchase parasols and fans to combat the heat."

“Far better to simply dress for the environment,” Dornos says to Meera, shaking his head. “Such finery isn’t suitable for a day trip in the jungle, to say nothing of a cross-country journey!

“Of course, it’s your coin. I know where to purchase provisions, and then we can go shopping for your parasols and fans, if you must.”

 "I'm going to purchase the other supplies first, but I don't think that purchasing a few parasols and fans is what's going to break us financially."

With the assistance of Dornos, Aphos, and Musharib, Meera is able to return to Misha and Sherri with the rest of the supplies for the journey.

"I have 200 rations of food, enough to last each of us 40 days, although we could likely make them last longer if we foraged for food while in the jungle. I have purchased two fans, one for myself and one for Sherri, as well as two parasols for the both us. I saw a pretty one that I knew you'd like, so I spent a little extra on it. I also purchased a Raincatcher that can hold up to eight gallons of rainwater, a bucket that can hold three gallons of water, and waterskins for each of us. I purchased two potions of healing, just in case anything should go wrong, and I purchased enough insect repellent to last each of us 40 days. I'm told that it's not the best smelling substance and that it can feel a little uncomfortable, but it's less uncomfortable than being bitten by insects and catching some jungle disease." Meera takes a moment to distribute the food and waterskins out to everyone, as well as give Sherri her fan and parasol.

" Your new dresses look lovely, by the way."

"Hells yeah!" Sherri beams as she's given her portion of food and water, opening the parasol almost as soon as it reaches her hands. "Sch-weet! Thanks Meera, glad to have you as the team mom, takin' good care of all of us!" She twirls the parasol in her hands, definitely feeling much cooler now that she was wearing lighter clothing and had something blocking the sun from her pale skin, although, her cheeks remained a pink color. "Thanks! Do we wanna head stay in town for the rest of the day? Enjoy the festivities now before we head to certain doom or what?" 

Misha was looking at herself in her new skirt, twisting in different ways to see all angles. "Eet hugs skeen so tightly! Very comfortable!" She comes over to the others. "Am ready, too. Ah! Found sooplies! Excellent!"

"Any time, Sherri. While I only swore to keep you safe, I still do not wish to see any member of this party come to harm, as I rather like the four of you and it will make this job much harder if any of us are starving or sick. You can make purchases of your own if you think that I missed something, but unfortunately I burned through the majority and can't help you. However, I imagine that there must be some method of making some money in a city as large as Port Nyanzaru."

Dornos shows some of the supplies in his pack as well. “I also picked up a block of incense sticks. They don’t last as long as the salve, but the smell is far more pleasant.”

Musharib and the twins chuckle at Meera's comment, and Musharib says "Port Nyanzaru be built on commerce, there be a hundred thousand ways t'earn yer coin 'midst these walls. If'n yer done with yer shoppin' fer the moment, mayhap we should rent our rooms at Kaya's house a'fore ye get all yer pretty shinies lifted?" 

Assuming you all agree, Musharib leads you a little farther pointing out the Grand Coliseum and the Hall of Gold which both jut out from among the other shorter building all alround them, eventually taking you down quiet little street lined with guards in colorful garb. A large tavern built in a style similar to what you might find in Faerun lays at the end of the street, and Musharib nods to the guards as he leads you toward it. A large sign with the name "Kaya's" written on it and the shape of a large bed embossed and painted black hang from the eaves of a large shaded porch where dozens of adventurers chat, eat, and drink but everyone very calm and civilized, their voices are lowered. Even Musharib seems less rowdy as he turns and presents the inn to you. "This be Kaya's House of Repose. Kaya were a dear friend and passed on few years back, but 'er husband and their children still be runnin' the place, an' runnin' it well."

Meera enters Kaya's House and pays for two rooms, one for the women and one for the men. Nothing too fancy, since she's spent most of her funds on getting supplies for the party. She'll also leave any purchasing of food and drinks at Kaya's to the rest of the party, for the same reason. Once everyone is situated and has had a chance to get off their feet for a moment, she gathers everyone up in the main room. "So the Coliseum seems like a logical place to make money from gambling, or we could find work if you would rather not take the chance with your funds. It's your choice and honestly we don't have to do anything if you all feel like we don't need anything more."

Misha takes a moment to take in all the sights, her eyes flashing with wonder. In the girls room, she takes off her backpack, adjusts her new Chultan skirt, and gladly offers to pay for whatever food or drink anyone wants. "Do not care what we do!" Misha says excitedly, "Eef hungry, Misha have a beet of coin to help."

“Port Nyanzaru assuredly has myriad opportunities for earning coins, but do we want for anything?” Dornos would suggest that we don’t need to earn any more money at the moment. “If our mutual endeavor requires more funding, I am glad to do my part.”

Meera shrugs her shoulders. "Some potions may be nice. I was only able to purchase two."

“Count me in for another, then,” says Dornos. “There is little sense in risking our lives needlessly, especially with the death curse considered.”

A stocky man named Leander charges Meera two gold for the room keys. When inspected the rooms are large, have comfortable beds, and any noise from outside the walls is muted though not entirely. They have windows that look out over the quiet street from which the party just came. Overhearing Meera talking about the Coliseum, Leander clears his throat, "You know miss, while the Coliseum is certainly a place to make coin in a fast way betting on combatants, they're also always looking for new blood to enter the ring. Fact is, I've heard they're short a few bodies for this week's games and it's a guaranteed 100 gold pieces to new comers, win or lose. Might be the new comer's next of kin in the latter case, but there you have it. If your large horned friend there is feeling confident I'd say he looks the part of a gladiator himself. I've also heard of a few smaller jobs here or there if you'd like to hear about them, but the big news is that the harbormaster is trying to crack down on piracy here in Port Nyanzaru and is offering an astounding 2,000 gold per pirate ship captured and brought to port, with an additional 500 gold per pirate captain captured." He looks as if he's about to say more, but then closes his mouth and goes back to wiping the counter.

"I don't know about the pirate hunter job, but the gladiatorial job sounds like a possibility. Aphos, you might prove formidable in the ring and while you might not look the part now while you're in a dress, you could convince them of your combat readiness once you're armored up, Misha. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm conscripting you into fighting. I'd volunteer for the fights myself, but I'm not much of a fighter."

“Oooh, hell’s yeah! We got time to spend and I’d love to see you two in action!” Sherri grins. “I’ll be, uh, cheering you guys on from the side lines! I’m pretty good at that, ain’t a fighter either, can poke someone good, but that’s about it.”

"Well, it sounds like we'll try out the Coliseum. Misha, Aphos, how do you feel about this, since the two of you have been selected to serve as our champions?"

Aphos sits just nearby, poking and prodding a miniscule tool into pockets of hos gauntlet, "Even the eeakest of my people can fell an enemy in combat. This should be no issue."

Meera looks at Aphos' gauntlet. "Excellent. You know, engineering might not be my specialty, but I am intrigued to see what that gauntlet does."
