Talien will only remove the gear that would be in his way (all blades strapped to his waist and arms as not to damage them) and clear as much rubble as possible, saying nothing but running the whole time with no inkling of slowing down or sign that any exertion is being made. Once the job has finished he dusts himself off with a rag and places all of his weaponry back into place, swapping the locations of every weapon he has and testing it a few times.
"Don't be a dick, Alten, they're just trying to learn," Rees says with a grin. She'll help clear the rubble, but is a wimpy wimp so she's basically just picking up the little things that Talien drops and sweeping pebbles out of the way.

Talien turns to Alten and eyes him for a moment. He then shrugs and moves forward into the room as he whispers Time is wasting. They know we are coming. We have a deadline for the wand, and I need to find the hammer.
You want to just stumble forward blindly? Where's the tactical sense in that?
If you know an enemy is coming and have time to prepare, do you just let him walk up to you and start fighting at full strength? Or do you send men to bait and harry, set traps, weaken him a bit before final combat starts?
As for the deadline, I suspect one such as Carlisle would prefer the wand secured later than expected, rather than having to locate it and recruit another group to go after it again because we died rushing forward foolishly and the wizard relocated because someone came after him.
