Talien bars the first door, and collects the broken bar by the door. He then crosses the room to the other door and looks at it. Is there a handle or a ring used to open it? (He does not open it or touch it) (trying to discern how it opens before touching it)
The doors both have iron rings for handles.
Edit: Font changed from default to Book Antiqua, posted from mobile the first time, lol.
How big are the iron rings? Can the bar go through the handle? a scimitar perhaps? Just wondering before I touch it.
(Also I like the font!)
The rings are only wide enough for a humans hand to fit into. They are set where a normal doorknob would be (around waist height (well for me at least whose 6’2”, lol)). You can shove the scimitar through it, but it likely won’t hold. A spear would probably work reasonably well though.
(You like Book Antiqua or the default (Arial I think)?)
Double door or single door? Opens to us or from us? Plan as follows
Single door opens away from us, Tie rope to handle, tie other end taught to dead goblins in the hole for leverage
Double door, Tie rope or manacle shut (if anyone has manacles) and also use counterweight if it opens away from us.
Single door opening to us, prop iron bar half against door, standing up against the door, if the door moves, it will be the alarm
Both doors and entrance way we came through, use bells and strings to make tripwires for more alarms.
Hope this is enough detail.
Then long rest.

They’re single doors — wide enough for one human person to fit through at a time — that open away from you (hinges are on the other side). So, Talien ties ropes to the handle of each and runs it to the bar on the door the party first entered through (East)(because otherwise you wouldn’t be able to close this door with two ropes running through it).
You all seem to be relatively secure, locked in the musty smelling room together. Does anyone want to do anything before the long rest? And are you guys still standing watch? If so, what is the watch order? (One person can give me the order, so we don't have to wait for everyone to reply).
I definitely think there needs to be a watch -- I'd suggest splitting it so that each shift has someone with dark vision and a decent split of skills? So perhaps Rees & Arxius take first watch, Alten and Chatra second, then Talien and Grom take last? I realize Talien doesn't exactly need to sleep so he could in theory help on all the watches but without dark vision, it's iffy on what he'd be able to perceive.
Before bed/during her watch Rees would like to draw Talien a quick diagram and explanation of the reproductive system -- junior high sex ed stuff that's just BASIC so he can read it later and hopefully get a better understanding.
Normally, people without darkvision keep their watch with the benefit of the banked campfire, a torch, lantern, etc.
RAW, we don't have enough people to do two per watch and get the benefits of the long rest. It takes
at least 8 hours long, during which a character sleeps or performs light activity: reading, talking, eating, or standing watch for no more than 2 hours.
Typically if you want to have 2 per watch, you would need 4 groups to cover the 8 hours (or have an elf or two - who only need 4 hours for a long rest).
I would suggest just doing it alphabeticly and let the dice fall where they may unless Fenris is house ruling.

If Alten sees her working on this and can catch her before Talien sees or before she starts talking to Talien, then he whispers to her.
You are over-complicating it. We should just tell him what Marta told me when I was 6 or 7 and asked where babies come from. She told me about Storkus, the goddess of fertility and children.
If he doesn't catch her in time, so be it.

@SDC Thanks! For most of your long rests we will adhere to the RAW. But, this time since it's still evening you can all benefit from a long rest and still have two people on watch as they won't start til 10pm (assuming nobody is completing their workout routine during this time).
You all settle in for the evening and try to get as comfortable as possible in the shelter of the crumbled tower. Feeling relatively secure you eat, drink, polish weapons, and shoot the sh*t (Rees def hears Alten's Storkus comment while drawing), then take some time to yourselves before bedding down (use this time however you wish -- feel free to RP, or let me know if you want to complete a downtime activity).
I'll wait to update to see if anyone wants to do anything with their downtime.
Arxius sits close to Rees with her knees bent up around her shoulders. Items laid out between her feet while she cleans her axes properly and eats. "You wish to tell him children's tales?" she scoffs but keeps her voice low.
Why not? His questions seem to be pretty child-like to me, at in this area. According to him, he's only been around this world for a month or two. Clearly where he comes from is different if he is telling the truth, so he is practically a newborn here.
If you give him even the basic facts, can you imagine him trying to apply them?

"I can imagine it, and it's hilarious. But we can try it your way. I'll just have this on hand if and when we need it. I've started now, might as well finish. Besides, I thought the two of you were going to offer a demonstration?"
You freaked out when he touched your breast in a fairly non-sexual way. What if he did that to some bar maid with sexual intent because he wants a son?
{Ignoring the demonstration question for the moment, waiting to see exactly what Arxius's response is}
“Why did you assume the two of us were going to do the demonstration?” Arxius asks, her eyebrows shooting up. “And I certainly would not hand over any progeny to... that.”
She shakes her head as she picks up her axe and her sharpening stone. “Go on then, Alten. Give it your best shot.”
Rees rolls her eyes, replying sarcastically. "Gee, I wonder why I would think something like that Arx, what could possibly have put that idea into my head? It's a right bloody mystery."
Turning her attention to Alten, she adds, "He caught me off guard. Obviously, consent would be a major part of the discussion. Which is a conversation we're going to have regardless of what we tell him about children because if he gropes someone else, I will ******* stab him, ally or no. He seemed to get pretty upset back at the tavern when he thought what's his face was stealing, if we present it to him in a way that equates unwanted contact with stealing -- stealing a touch? I guess? Perhaps he would understand the gravity a bit better."
"Hold on," Arxius says to Rees, searching through her pack. "I believe I have some salt to go with your attitude." She dusts the dirt of her pack and flicks that at her instead.
(Talien busy doing all of the listed things like setting bell alarms and barding doors as previously mentioned now joins the group talking about him (he did not hear any conversation previous to his approach))
I have some rations in my pack if anyone wants them as I do not eat. I hear this common term sometimes here in your realm it seems. To 'break bread' together but as I do not eat, perhaps sharing is the same. There is some things I seem to not understand here that is...unnatural for my kind. No touching, as he glances over at Rees, people in certain areas, items that do not belong to you without permission even though you are trying to clean or improve it, and different sayings. Are there a lot of thieves here in your realm? Where I am from, if you steal the penalty is death, but other warforged walk around picking up things and improving them but they always return them so it is not an issue. Is it not the same here?
(Rees said she wanted to show me before bed time in her post a diagram, not that she had, so I will assume this has not happened yet unless informed otherwise)
Talien it's not that u cant help someone out and improve there weapon or help them out in some way u just need to ask them for permission before touching there property.
No. There could be a kingdom where theft is punishable by death, but I do not know of one. Murder and treason are the most common crimes that would result in an execution in most places.
Theft is probably most punished by imprisonment, flogging, stocks, or sometimes amputation. It also depends on which kingdom or lands you commit the crime in.
Also Talien, in regards to how babies are made - I'm going to explain it to you exactly how Marta explained it to me back when I was a young boy.
When I was 7 or 8 years old, Marta and Versad were talking about a friend of their's who had just had a baby. I asked Marta how the baby was made and if she was going to have a baby. After she finished laughing at me, she told me how when two people decide that they want to have a baby, they offer up prayers and conduct a sacred communion to ask the goddess Storkus to bless them with a baby. If they catch the attention of Storkus and Storkus grants their entreaty, then one of her fey agents visits the couple while they sleep. The fey magically takes essence from each parent and implants an egg in the female's womb. The female carries the baby for about 9 months until it is able to be born.
Of course I had lots of questions. Why did the baby go in the mother and not the father? What makes a good prayer to Storkus? What was involved in the ritual? All that sort of thing. Marta said that much of it was simply the will or Storkus. She said it would be Versad's duty to explain more about the ritual when I was older. Versad found the whole thing amusing. He piped up and said, 'Hells Marta, I'll teach the boy about the ritual right now'.
Marta looked a little shocked and said something about me being too young. He laughed and told her not to worry about it. He said that the two people, when they were ready to try to be parents, would offer their prayers, remove their clothes, and conduct a ritual. He said that he wasn't going to remove his clothes or offer any prayers, but he could show me the ritual.
