There is just enough light to make out Alten’s arm and the rest of the group catches up. The whole party is now in the middle of the courtyard. Alten explains his plan and demonstrates the Easter screech owl call, then moves forward with Arixus to check out the entryway...
At which point I need Alten and Arixus to make a Dexterity saving throw [DC 15].
Alten takes the lead and moves quietly through the soft darkness of the courtyard with Arixus close behind. Everything seems to be going according to plan until you are just a few feet shy of the entryway. Alten turns to nod to Arixus, then suddenly disappears from view. A loud “whoosh” followed by a “thump” break the long silence as Alten plummets into through a hidden tarp. Arixus stops short and reaches out to grab Alten, but his armor is too heavy and he falls the ten feet into the pit trap landing with “clang”.
If Talien has the ability to 'carry' 480 lbs. and 'Push, drag, or lift' 960 lbs. Would I need to roll in the future to hold a rope and let someone climb up it?
Example. Someone is tied to the end of a rope, and I pull them up 4 floors to our current level, they would have all their gear and they weigh 293 lbs. (Combined) would I have to roll a check? Or possibly if they were 526 bs. would I then roll because it is over my carrying capacity?
{I assume Talien is pulling the rope as I use it to help climb out of the pit}

The pit contains two goblin skeletons and one goblin that has been dead for about a day. The goblin corpse has a scimitar and a shield, as well as 23 sp and 4 gp in a belt pouch.
You hold onto the rope and Talien walks backwards hoisting you out with ease. (No roll needed as Talien has a high strength score + mechanical advantage lent by the rope).
While I was down there, I would grab the coins and stick the scimitar thru my belt to see if anyone wants it once I get back up.
Edit: So while I'm down there, I'll yell up and ask if anybody wants the scimitar or shield. If any does, I'll toss the shield out of the pit to them, but I'm not tossing the scimitar. If nobody wants either, I'll leave them.
{I put the coins in a list for party treasure. When we have an amount that can be divided up easily, I'll let people know how much to add to their sheet - if that is ok.
Once Alten is up, it the door barred or are we able to enter the Citadel?}

Skirting the now uncovered trap you reach the oaken door and find it is unlocked.
(Assuming you enter...)
You push the door and it swings open on rusted hinges letting out a painful screech. Inside you find a circular area cobbled with cracked granite, upon which sprawl the bodies of four goblins, apparently slain in combat. One corpse stands with its back against the western wall, the spear that killed it still skewering it and holding it upright. Two wooden doors lead from this area -- one is set in the wall to the Northwest and the other to the Southwest. A hollow tower of loose masonry reaches thirty feet into the air, but the intervening floors and stairs are gone, except for a couple of crumbled ledges.

Alten you take 2 damage from the fall.
Crouching down on the edge of the trap, Arxius squints trying to get a good look at it. “You right down there?” She calls out to Alten.

Mostly wounded pride. Banged my knee a bit when I landed, but it's fine. I may need a hand getting out of this pit though.
When he sees Talien.
Hey big guy, toss me down one end of your rope. Looks like we'll need it sooner than I expected.

Talien tosses a rope down to Alten wordlessly, still holding the other end.
Warforged Fighter Talien
Alten tries extracts himself from the pit. Once he gets out, he say sardonically
There's a hole in the ground right about here. Everybody watch out for it.
{Stakes enough to warrant a role in order to get out? If so, I presume Athletics (with ADV for Talien's assist)?}

Do you want to look around the pit before you climb out? (DC 10 Investigation)
Talien looks down at the pit from above (assistance)

@SDC roll with advantage.

If nobody will use them, I will take them for a project. Talien responds
