"Perhaps it was a warning," Arxius says as she rejoins the group. She opens up her pack to grab her rations. "Either way we should pass through this territory quickly. I do not trust a quiet night for newcomers."
Could have been a scout for one of those tribes we heard about. I know Bozak said the Iron Hand was ahead of us and rushing is the natural inclination. But, if we push too hard, we lose situational awareness and that's not good when you're in hostile territory. I'm not saying dally and sightsee, but I don't think we want to travel doubletime either.

You break fast and camp, then pack your rolls, and horses and head out. The midsummer sun is warm today and you are all sweating well before mid-morning. Just afternoon you come across the first signs that the Crags were once used to supply the cities with metals. You approach a number of broken carts and discarded tools laying weathered and untouched outside of what appears to be a collapsed entrance dug out of a hillside. There does not appear to be any sign of life, however the ground looks disturbed and the entrance looks broken open...
It looks like there is drag marks in the dust and dirt leading from the "road" into the entrance. Upon closer inspection there are claw marks on the wooden boards that were used to close up the mine... A foul spell smell wafts out of the entrance.. it smells like rotten meat...
"I think we should put some space between us and this place before nightfall." Shake says to the rest. "This place appears to house something dangerous."
I agree. Unless we can't avoid it, I say we don't get sidetracked. Bozak did say the Iron Hand was ahead of us and it would be problematic if they get to the prize ahead of us.

You continue on passing more broken carts and mining equipment on the north side of this abandoned mine. You pass one more mine entrance within the next 30 minutes, but this one looks better plugged up. Everything seems quite as the day wears on. Night falls once again and you make camp. Around 11pm you hear the blood curdling howl of what sounds like a large wolf off in the distance...
Well, that was anticlimactic. Quick meal and then moving onward?

Shake's stomach growls at the mention of food. "A meal sounds good."

Unless something of note happens, we take care of the morning business, break camp, and get going.
