Sarai looks over at Imani as she kicks at the dust, weird bird eyes staring weirdly. "I understand, my question is this. Is there a mystery to solve here? Or are we better off simply taking this... whatever it is, off the board? We can do that by leaving and ignoring it, leaving and advising Father Popov it is his to handle, or doing something... final, about it. If there is a question that needs answering, then let us go room by room to find it. If not..."

Assassin materializes next to Imani, “By the way,” She yawns, “A servant just got within a mile of us.”

“Well, then,” Sarai says, getting her rifle. “We may get an answer after all. Do you know which direction?” she asks Dream.

Assassin raises a finger to the nearby window, “About that way.” Under the light of the moon, Sarai can see either a small or distant form approaching.

Sarai will crouch in the window (for some cover) with her now effective rifle pointed at the small or distant form. “If nobody calls out to it I’m going to shoot it.” She will Ready a shot for when it is at about 150’.

You see that the figure is actually far, but approaching at very high speeds. Sarai aims her scope and sees a familiar face. The big, stupid grin of the Monkey King. One thing of note is that he is currently on a crash course with the window.

How soon will he crash in to the window?

”It’s the Monkey, closing very fast. Do I shoot him? I’m going to shoot him.”

Imani readies a triple barrel shot of crackling arcane energy. "Shoot him."

(Ready trigger: Monkey King entering EB range)

Hearing Imani, Sarai will shoot as soon as the Monkey King is at about 200', just inside of her normal range with the rifle.

Shot 1 (w/adv): 24 to hit, for 17 magical piercing damage
Shot 2: 20 to hit, for 20 magical piercing damage

The bullet shatters the glass in front of Sarai and streaks out toward Rider, who doesn't move his head. The bullet collides squarely into his forehead and his body arches back from the impact. However, like a bending branch, he snaps back upright with a raised eyebrow and a smile! Irritated, Sarai puts one right into his dumb grin. However, Rider opens wide and bites down, stopping the arcane bullet with his teeth. He spits it out as his chariot continues at breakneck speed toward you all. 

Imani may fire her blast if she wishes.

Almost too late, Imani remembers her blasts fizzling uselessly against Archer. She shakes her hand, scattering motes of energy. Seeing Rider bite the bullet, she grins as inky blackness fills her sclera. "Eat this, Monkey Man."

Eyebite! (DC 18 WIS save, JC, otherwise he's sickened)

Oz swipes a quick command into his phone and conjures a protective ward on himself. "Caster! Restrain him!" 

Caster responds, readying a wrath of nature spell on the front of the house. As soon as Rider is within range, the vines around the house and the roots under the ground will animate and attempt to restrain Rider (spell save DC 22, and using Heightened Spell to give him disadvantage on the save).

As Imani’s eyes go inky black, Rider’s eyes flare with that same fiery color in his irises, burning the infection away.

However, as he is about to collide with the building, the vines spontaneously animate and form a net in front of him, catching both him and the chariot. As he dangled upside down he laughs, “Oh ho! This is unfortunate.”

Sarai will move to a vantage where she can see Rider and shoot him, but remain more than 5' away. Perhaps just angling out the same window as before, perhaps another window, depending on how the vines have caught him. Then she will shoot him. She is not one for chit-chat or pithy rejoinders.

Move: Up to 30' to remain 5'+ distant and be able to see Rider to shoot him
Bonus Action: Cast Hunter's Mark on Rider with 1st level slot (1 hour duration or concentration) for 1d6 extra dmg on every hit
Action: shoot him
Shot 1: 29 to hit, for 20 magical piercing damage
Shot 2: 26 to hit, for 30 magical piercing damage
Additional: With Colossus Slayer (Ranger) do extra 3 dmg on one/first hit per turn if target is below max hp.

Defensive Notes: Cloak of Displacement gives Disadvantage to attacks against her (but turns off for the turn if she takes damage). Also, per Multiattack Defense (Ranger): When a creature hits you with an attack, you gain a +4 bonus to AC against all subsequent attacks made by that creature for the rest of the turn.

Imani covers her mouth with a hand. "Oh. Oh my god, Sarai."

Both shots hit Rider dead in the eyes, to which he grabs them and scream, “AH! ALRIGHT, THAT TEARS IT.”

The gold tipped staff appears in his hand. It’s tip then extends straight into the sky above your heads, “One warning blow!”

With that, the tip angles ninety degrees to the side, and then straight down. It crashes through the ceiling and races toward Sarai, Attack: 30 Damage: 17 bludgeoning damage as Sarai has the wind knocked out off her as a magic cudgel crashes into her.

The club retracts, “I feel better, yeah, that was cathartic.”

Sarai crashes to the ground, then gets up with a smile, checking her rifle...

Recharge on a 5 or 6: 6

... grimacing as small arcs of lightning run the length of it, she prepares to do something else next time.

Rider’s been tangled for a bit now (as once again, not initiative), and will attempt to break his chains. Magic Resistance: 18. With a tug, the vines evaporate into mana particles. He dusts himself off and jumps up to the window. He taps it with the staff and the window frame falls over (having been shot to smithereens and crushed).

He rocks back and forth on his heels, “Anyway. Before my awesome entrance was so rudely interrupted.” He gives Caster the stink eye, “I was coming to check this place out, since I felt a servant. Plus, if it was you guys, I figured I’d let you know some info...” He picks something fruit out of his teeth, “But now I’m not sure I want to.” He squints at your group, “And the next person to shoot me loses their ribs.”

Sarai keeps her distance, liking her ribs. “You cannot fault us for being cautious. You come on strong, Monkey.”

"You also come on lying. Inform away, and then go away. We're in the middle of a ghost hunt."
