You believe Sulatesh is a monster? Imagine if you knew that same monster was coming for you, for your children, for your friends. The Inspired don't just give us a stable life, with regular food, shelter, safety. They defend our minds. Our dreams." Her gaze, fixed on Vishal, become piercing. "And dreams are one of the most difficult battlefields to fight in, aren't they, kalashtar? Without the Inspired, ours would be subject to the whims of anyone who wanted to affect them. So that is why I cannot trust the monsters. Even if I respect them."

OOC: Okay, so this is a Big Moment. If this goes badly, Riikana attacks, you guys probably kill her, the end. If you are able to convince her to defect or surrender, though, she's going to be a powerful ally for Adar. Riikana was one of Sulatesh's council, not his right hand, but maybe a toe ;D She'll have highly valuable information about his plans and be able to predict strategies and tactics from Kintam Ulakhun. Since Ulakhun is right across the border from Kaashta Keep, this makes what she can contribute even more valuable. Therefore I will be giving everyone a chance to contribute here, which may slow us down a tad while we wait for Ash, since he doesn't currently have access to Discord. But when you post, if you're making an appeal or doing something similar, toss in a dice roll that feels appropriate. It might be Persuasion for (duh) persuading, Insight to figure out the best arguments, etc. If you can come up with a way to use an unorthodox skill, I'll let you use it.

To him the choice of fighting for Adar was obvious. He wanted to use his free will and thus chose freely to serve. He just had to find out what made her tick.

Difficult to tell. One thing that is clear, however, is that it's not Sulatesh specifically she feels she owes her allegiance to. It's the Path of Inspiration, and its tenets of putting the community above the individual. She's starting to think she might be a threat to the Path herself.

River keeps her sword trained on Riikana, everything in her body aching to just kill her. However, she recognises that the group is trying to emotionally disarm her, and instead lets her beak fall open as she begins to sing a nice, relaxing tune. (rolled 15 performance in discord with advantage)
Riikana listens to each of you expressionlessly, her face revealing nothing of what she thinks. After a long moment, she slowly takes her hand away from her sword. "I don't know if I believe you. But I know by now that the Inspired will force me to accept their truth. Perhaps...in going with you, I can choose which truth I believe." A slightly grim smile flashes across her face. "Not that I have any illusions of what will happen if I choose a course that leads me against you. But at least you will only kill me. I have seen what happens to the people the Inspired believe need to be re-educated."
Taran nods, "I-I-I w-w-wish you l-luck in that, b-b-but, I-I h-hope w-w-we d-d-do not end up k-killing each other. P-P-Please d-d-do not tr-try to h-h-harm anyone wh-while w-w-we tr-travel."
