The Summit Road Campaign Thread

Caelius rises and rubs his eye. As Vishal finishes his psychic message, Caelius blinks and brings his hands together and out of the night cracks a bolt of lightning.

Attack: 7 Damage: 11

Druhdaar, who had made his bunk in a shallow pit a little ways away from the main camp, now comes rushing on the scene. 

" Dontch'all think she has enough ? Boy, and me who thought I was the wild one... ! " he mumbles, baffled by the surge of violence from his team towards the prostrate figure of Khova.

"You little-" 8925's voice exclamation cuts off as she rolls to the side out of the way of Caelius's lightning bolt. "Dark spirits, what is wrong with you people? What altavar do you even deal with for these powers?" As she speaks, a lance of [Tooltip Not Found] slams into Taran's mind.

DC 14 Int ST or 7 damage and you can only take the Dash or Disengage action on your next turn. On success, half damage and no action limitation.

Con ST: 20

Int Save 4

Reeling from the mental assault Taran instinctively falls into a defensive stance as he runs next to the Elan with his dagger. (Action Disengage, movement to stick to her)

"I-I-I do-don't have p-powers." Taran says ripping open a bag of ball bearings to toss around her, "Y-You c-can't win, y-y-ou c-c-can't escape, pl-please, w-we d-d-don't want to hurt you." (bonus action use item, 10 ft square including her and Taran, DC 10 dex save when either of us move (unless treat as difficult terrain) or fall prone)

Hearing all the shouting and fighting, Kaori scrambles from her position sleeping to grab her sword and shield. Gear in hand and completely naked, she moves to 8925's side and strikes down with the pommel of her sword.

Attack: 17 Damage: 7

Akuma startles awake and her hand almost instantly grabs the shortsword nearby. As she climbs to her feet, she sees the others moving to attack 8925 and moves to join in the fight, attempting to slash at her left leg to disable her temporarily as her knee moves to the gut and her elbow to the temple in a quick succession. 

Shortsword:

Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Flurry of Blows. 

Attack: 20 Damage: 7

Attack: 10 Damage: 5

Between Kaori's pommel blow and Akuma's punchy/stabby thingies, 8925 slumps to the ground, unconscious.

“Let’s get her stabilized and make sure she’s restrained in case she’s still not Khova when she wakes up again. If she’s restrained I can probably attempt to go in and help Nova without risk of being stabbed.” Vishal instructs 

Taran nods, immediately pulling out his kit and binding her wounds. Then he pulls out the gloves, fishing line, and rope from before and begins restraining her thoroughly.

Edit: Once she is secure, Taran scours the ground, picking up his ball bearings and putting them in a new bag

The big druid towers over the unconscious body of the young woman, a quizzical look on his face.

He turns towards Vishal:

" So that's what happens with Elans then ? They keep going back and forth like that for ever ? " the burly man asks with a frown.

" Pretty high-maintenance, if you ask me... "

Vishal shakes his head saying, "We're going to remove and free the spirit. So that way this doesn't happen. But...if she ever turned to our side she's be really powerful. Like Muerphan." 

" Mmmph. All this psychic stuff makes my head hurt... " the big man groans, as he turns towards the direction of his makeshift sleeping den.

" Better make sure she's hog-tied good and get a move on, then. I'll go get my stuff. " he mutters as he steps into the shadows away from the group.

"Oh buck up Druhdaar!" Vishal says giving his a butt slap, and a little squeeze as he's feeling brave today. "It could have gone worse. But moving is probably a good idea, let's get camp cleaned up and get moving." Vishal replies and then goes to clean up camp.

Taran bites his lip as he finishes tying Khova up, "U-U-U-Um, if-if-if you th-think it is b-b-best V-Vishal, b-but-" he takes a deep breath, "i-i-it is d-d-dark, an-and ev-everyone is st-still tired. I-It might be best to fi-finish the n-night, in-instead of tr-traveling in the d-d-dark wh-when 8925 w-w-wakes up."

Druhdaar bristles and jerks at Vishal's intrusive move but he contents himself by giving him a dark look. 

Vishal raises his hands and says, “Too far, got it, we can talk about it more after the mission but I promise I won’t do it again on this mission.”

The druid grunts and gives the sword-dancer a slight nod. He makes a point to hold Vishal's eyes a little too long for comfort, as he hisses:

" You don't ever  wanna do that  again, Dancer. I promise you. "

He then swings around and busies himself with his gear to prepare for imminent departure.

Akuma raises an eyebrow at the two before giving a slight roll of her eyes, crossing her arms. "We have two options. Pack up and leave now in the dark, without a full rest, having no idea what is out there at this hour. Or. Finish resting until morning, travel in the light, and not get jumped by thugs or wolves. I personally agree with Taran. It would be reckless to leave at this hour. Leaving a few more rested people on guard of her for the rest of the night should suffice."

"I guess you're right. Okay. But we should head out early and try and make some distance. The sooner we get her to the shroud the safer." Vishal replies 

Taran nods, "I-I'll make s-sure t-to g-get breakfast d-done quickly, s-so w-we c-can leave immediately af-after, sir."

Then, after checking the knots once more, he crawled back into his bedroll and tried to go back to sleep until his watch.
