But it is a minor concern, not compared to the escaping spy. A foot chase, one with a dangerous finish line. But the enemy wasn't being clever enough. A miniature crossbow couldn't out range his weapon, and the spy wouldn't be able to shake him quick enough. He'd put him down.
He fires from cover, though he doubts that the spy was caught off guard by the maneuver. Before the bolt finds it's mark he's already dashing south and towards the spy, angling to stay out of easy range. If he wants to hit him, he'll have to close.
Light Crossbow: 821 Damage: 9 plus 4 if by some miracle I was hidden enough
The last echos of the words fade, taking with them that extra boost of confidence. Bardic Inspiration 2
(No way that 9 was enough stealth to be hidden from this guy, but I threw two dice just in case they sent a wisdom -2 guy after us)
(Hate to make life harder on you Books, but I'm angling down, I think g13 puts me 35 ft away from him)
(Throwing bardic on a long shot, hoping to get a 6 and that his AC is 14 like mine. Please please please)

River does not fall asleep again, thanks to bardic inspiration, and her bolt smashes into Jharee's shoulder. Caelius wakes up with a nat 20 that the dicebot got rid of and rushes out of the mist. Caelius and River both only have to save for one more round. So does Vishal btw, just forgot to say that.
The bard's words manage to keep the Kenku's eyes from closing. Now upset, she squawks loudly and runs around the mist cloud towards the spy, raising her sword and throwing an Eldritch Blast at his back as she moves.

Athletic's Ahead of time so I know how to flavor: 5
Very much hurt by that last attack Vishal makes his way around the mist to where he see's Druhdaar's feat sticking out. Grabbing onto the Druid's ankles Vishal summons all his might to drag the heavy man out of the mist. With a huff Vishal gets out, "He needs to lay of the berries, honey, dirt, and whatever it is crazy wood dwelling people eat." Looking up at Caelius, Vishal's eyes glowing that intent blue, he psionically sends a feeling of confidence to the man.(Bardic Inspiration) Before looking down at Druhdaar and says, "Sorry ahead of time." Before slapping the Druid across the face in an effort to wake him.
Wisdom save for poison mist 12, Edit: No longer have to make these at least
Pain rips through him, and he feels blood explode from his nose and flow down his face. He sways on his feet, but there is no quitting or stopping. Worse things happen if you try to stop because you are injured. You push through, keep going. The last vestiges of the poison smoke flow off him as he runs forward. Keeping his distance doesn't seem viable, but seeing the blast of magic from the bird strike the spy tells him all he needs to know.
Slow down the enemy.
No matter what
After closing, he fires again, slapping another bolt in the chamber immediately. Mechanically.
(Moving to C9)
Lightcrossbow 16 Damage 11
(FYI for party knowledge, I'm down to 2 hp. Level 1 sucks)
Opening his eyes under Vishal's frantic slaps, Druhdaar groans then flails a little with his paws, trying to cover his face as he roars:
" Arrgffh give it a rest already , I'm awake ! "
Knees creaking in protest the druid then stands up slowly, giving the kalashtar a meaningful glare as he rubs his reddened face. He takes a quick look around, in time to see the spy running off towards the west. With a parting growl at Vishal he takes off at a jog in pursuit, all the while unwrapping a long, leathery cord from his belt as he mumbles a few words under his breath.
He comes to a halt a little ways away and methodically puts a small, iridescent stone into the sling: soon, the cord is whirring above his head and violently hurls the small pellet, now burning with a fiery red, towards its goal.
** Stands up , then moves 15 feet (to J11), following by Sling Attack w/Magic Stone23 - Damage 6 **
As the red-hot projectile smacks into the back of Jharee's neck with a satisfying 'whack !' , sending the fiend tumbling down, howling, into the dirt, the druid cracks a small smile yet his joy is short-lived as his mouth suddenly goes slack: ever-so-slowly, Druhdaar Khar-Errendi bends down on one knee, then another, and soon it is his turn to lay down yet again, as he cuddles in the fetal position with a deep, earth-shaking yawn.
Within moments a great, resounding snore reveals that the magic powder's effects hadn't quite worn out after all.

The stone hits Jharee in the side of the head, and he falls to the ground unmoving (although Druhdaar can flavor it differently if he wants). Out of initiative, post (or roll saves) at will!
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
He watches the spy go down, the crack of the glowing stone echoing through him. He approaches rapidly, seeing the dent and angle of the spy's neck.
He fires another shot through his skull, to be certain. And to damage the head. They can use magic to talk with the dead, but only if the head remains intact. Reloads.
...
Taran starts shaking as he looks down at Jharee's body. He... he couldn't think about all this right now. But there are other concerns. They can't just leave him here. Not like this. The other's might want to examine his equipment or clothing, perhaps find something useful. He feels like he is going to retch, but he quickly strips the body down of everything. The magic clothes, his packs and pouches, everything.
Taran stumbles back towards the party carrying the gear, his head is throbbing and everything tastes and smells of blood. He walks around the edge of the poison and sets the things down for the others to go over.
Turning to Mr. Druhdaar, who is waking up again, Taran speaks softly. "We should bury him. Make it harder for them to find him. Slow down pursuit."
Then he turns to the Esteemed Vishal and silently begins bandaging his wounds, removing the bolt and staunching the blood flow. One use of healer's kit for 6 hp to Vishal. I can't heal Vishal like this again until he has a short rest or longer.
Vishal barely sees that the spy has goes down as he is still in action mode and thinking about getting Juhaan out of the mist. Holding his breath Vishal runs in grabs the unconscious man and quickly runs out. That seems to be the last of Vishal’s adrenaline as he collapses from the use of all of his magic and the bolt in his arm that came close to knocking him out in one hit. Laying down and breathing deeply Vishal looks to see the spy dead and then towards the refugees. Giving his best smile to calm them down and reassure them he says, between big deep breaths, to them “We’re safe for now.” Deep breaths, "Give us a few minutes to clean this up.” More deep breaths, “We’ll be on our way out shortly.” Holding still as Taran comes over to bandage him Vishal whispers to the young archer, "You did a good job. If you fell to that mist as well he'd have gotten away. Don't forget to bandage yourself up as well. Can't loose you to an infection can we now." Vishal gives Taran a wink as he says the last bit.
Taran nods mutely, and pulls some vials from his medical kit. He doesn't have many visible wounds, but he did lose a lot of blood. He chokes down the foul tasting concoction. It will help accelerate his healing a little, restore the lost blood (Use number two, for 6. )Then he quietly goes over to the pond and washes the blood off his face.
They'll be moving soon, he'll need to be ready. To center himself, to forget. At least the water is clear and cool on his face, even with the slight salt. Probably from the blood. So much blood...

Juhaan
Saving throws to wake up: 21 and the second: 11 Another roll: 9
Some seconds after Juhaan wakes up shivering from the bad dreams ""What happened? Where's that scoundrel Jharee?" he says looking wildly around him "What was that damn box?" he looks at Vishal and makes the connection that he dragged him out of the mist "Thank you for that Vishal. That thing was nasty."
Druhdaar slowly comes back to his senses, stretching mightily to shake the last of the sleep off his system. As he sits up and takes in the scene, he ponderously gets to his feet, scratching his head vigorously and slapping his clothes to dust off the last of the sticky, fuzzy sleeping powder - and a few twigs and leaves as well.
In a few steps, he's standing over the mortal remains of the man who tried to kill them, then he spreads his hand forward as a 5 x 10 ' pit opens up beneath the spy's body, quickly swallowing it into a pile of dirt. He then turns back towards Taran, his face somber:
" Bastard got what was coming to him. There may be more coming soon, though. You should move. " He points towards the refugees: " Get them away from here. I'll cover the rear, as we agreed. "
As he goes a little ways off to prepare his hiding place under the tree again, he passes Vishal and gives the sword-dancer a long, inscrutable look. Then as the druid awkwardly makes to slap his companion's shoulder, he suddenly notices his wound. The woodsman's ham-sized hand hovers hesitantly, then slowly comes back down to his belt as he mutters:
" You got a pretty firm slap, for a man who dresses in women's clothing. I just wish you wouldn't talk so damn much. "
Then after a shrug, his eyes seem to give a small, friendly sparkle as he adds, almost inaudibly:
" But you had my back, and that... that counts . Take care of this lot, I'll be right behind yiz. "

Juhaan is unable to wake from his sleep.
