The Summit Road Campaign Thread

Taran looks around the room one last time, assessing if they have done enough and if there is anything worth grabbing (Perception: 18) before signing Caelius one last time.

 That done (and anything extra grabbed) Taran scales out the window. His grip and experience letting him swiftly maneuver on top of the wall where the archways are embedded, giving him an overwatch view of the group and a sniper's position if more guards attempt an ambush. He'll gesture down to the team asking which direction they are heading.

Taran doesn't see anything amiss in the room. The room itself is rather a mess after the fight, with very little beyond the absolutely necessary.

From the top of the courtyard wall, Taran can see walled gardens stretching until they end in the high outer compound wall, patrolled by guards. Taran doesn't see any approaching guards nearby.

At Taran's questioning gesture, Khova, face still tight with pain and stress, points to the archway to the east.

Taran nods and moves to the wall, crouching on top of the archway with the plan to sneak above and cover the team as they flee the palace grounds.

Caelius looks at the cocooned Vyed as he moves his hands in circular patterns. With the crack of his wrists, shadow pours out of Caelius and pools a his feet. In a matter of seconds the room is dark and Caelius stands in Vishal's shadow on the ground outside. 

After spitting out a load of sticky web strands into the room, the great spider quickly crawls down the wall.

Khova falls to one knee with a gasp of pain, taking a long, shaky breath before standing again, face white. "This way. Mountain man, you're going to want to turn back into a human. The kid'll have to come off the roof soon too, we're headed inside before long." She starts for the eastern archway.

Once Akuma touches down on the ground, she activates pass without a trace, channeling her ki to make everyone around her, along with herself, a little extra sneaky. 

(+10 to stealth checks) 

Give Kaori a little tap Vishal channels some of his inner light into her as he says, “You can do this. Now let’s move everyone.” As he takes the group forward in the direction indicated be Khova. While walking he quietly says to her, “Your in pain. Some sort of mental attack. If you’re loosing control we have to know right away or we aren’t making it out. If it’s something I can help with let me know.”

For When Stealth is Asked: 21

As he reaches the ground, Druhdaar swiftly comes back to his human form and follows behind Vishal and Khova, keeping a keen eye out in case the brazen sword-dancer tries to inflict his trademark rear-tap buff on their new companion.

Khova shakes her head. "Not losing control," she reassures Vishal tightly. "Not for a while. Nirdaya's in Dal Quor, looking for me." She rubs her forehead. "I'm mostly in this body, but I still have a connection to the Plane of Dreams, and she's trying to find it and destroy it." She gives a humorless laugh. "But I've been keeping it in motion ever since I escaped my bonds, so she's having trouble and resorting to brute force. Sending out pulses of psychic power in hopes that she can use their impacts to find me. You can't help without making some kind of mental link, and we don't have the time or safety to do that in the city."

Kaori follows behind, still angry about not being allowed to kill Vyed, and the only reason she's even remotely stealthy is because of her team's magical help.

Rolled a natural 1 but with mods it's a 17

“Okay. We just need you to tell us right away if something is wrong. We’ll see what I can do to help once we’re safe.” Vishal replies as they do runs forward. 

Khova nods grimly, face tense.

Taran soon runs out of roof and has to come down.

Akuma follows beside the group, making sure to keep everyone within a radius of herself to boost their sneakiness. 

Once the party moves out of sight, Taran quickly clambers down and joins them, taking a forward position to look for ambushes and surprise any patrols they might run into,

The group wends its way through the city without drawing attention. As you start to put distance between you and Dar Mirn, Khova's face continues to tighten with pain and focus. Half a mile from the city, she falls to one knee again, white as a sheet. "She's closing in. Manipulating the stability of the connection. I can't...I'm outnumbered and not powerful enough."

OOC: Everyone has one chance to do something. Then please add a Wis ST to the end of your post for reasons.

Taran freezes for a moment, thoughts whirring. He can't help against a psychic attack, he's worthless in this situation. Training, medicine it's... A stray thought sticks. Master Lukaan comforting a patient. The best thing is for you to focus on getting better. The cuffs by Esteemed Khova's bed

Taran is beside Esteemed Khova in seconds, ropes, gloves, and fishing line appearing in his hands. "D-Don't worry ab-about us or y-your body," he says, gently but quickly putting the gloves on her hands so he can secure them, "W-We'll take care of it. F-Focus on the f-fight. Even if y-your host g-gains control, y-you need to protect yourself. W-We can handle things here."

Not waiting for her agreement, Taran's hands work quickly to secure the knots and restrain her so she can neither cast spells or move.

"I'm going to try and help her keep them at bay. I'll pull out if it gets too dangerous or too much. Be prepared in case she looses control." Vishal tells everyone before he stares into Khova's eyes and begins to attempt to create a psychic connection to assist her.
