With new concentration, she takes another two swipes with her blade, cutting into the killer with both before speaking in the heavy, abusive voice that some of her friends recognise, in order to hold the creature's attention.

As the warmth fills her and her wounds close, her eyes settle on a spot close to the ceiling. Dropping the empty vial to the floor, she braces her shield and points her sword at the spot.
As the second slam of air smashes into him, he tries to twist away, but it isn't enough as he is driven to the ground, and the world goes dark
